McCain mentioned community service throughout tonight, wasn't Martin Luther King a community organizer, I am surprise no one has mentioned him,

    Roland and Bill,,

I appreciate your commentary. Once again I have to agree with other bloggers here, McCain continues to talk about the only thing he seems to know, WAR, WAR and more WAR. Based on what I've heard here with McCain asking more people to serve in the Military, he's going to reinstate the draft if elected so he will have at his disposal a large cross section of middle and lower income America. and I do mean disposal because that is what it will be a disposal of human life. I am a two time combat vet, and I can tell you that I have many ex-military and those currently in and not one of them supports McCain as he doesn't support the vets and their needs. Why don't we see a poll among the Military?

If Barack Obama played the race card the way McCain and his camp is playing the sexism card, he would be condemned in this campaign. If Palin can attack Barack Obama at the GOP convention like she did then she made the rules to the game. I'd love to see her speak obout some issues and stop telling us about her family. I don't want to hear another thing about Todd and his snowmobiles.

Senator McCain gave a great speech tonight. I was very impressed with his very candid responses. I believe that his experience and knowledge are exactly what this country needs and I am 100% in support of John McCain and Sarah Pain for President and Vice President of OUR United States of America!

Too bad the won't ask Obama why he sat in that church for twenty years. And then named his book after a sermon from Rev. Wright. Sure ..... he never knew that is was an extremist, left-wing black liberation haven. HE NAMED IS BOOK AFTER A WRIGHT SERMON! DUH@

I would like to take a moment while we are on a commercial break to make a comment regarding 'double standards'. I noticed today while the candidates were at Ground Zero and just now when Sen. Obama came on the stage that Sen. McCain is not wearing an American Flag - and NO ONE in the media EVER says anything about that - only when Sen. Obama has not worn one do we hear an outcry about him not being patriotic. Why is that?

WELL I'M NOT QUITE SURE WHAT MCCAIN REALLY THINKS AND THIS IS IN PART WHAT SCARES ME. HE IS SUCH AN OPPORTUNIST TO THE POINT THAT HE WILL SAY AND DO WHATEVER EVEN IF HE HAS TO FLAT OUT LIE! IT'S ALL SO CONFUSING!

OBAMA ON THE OTHER HAND MAY VERY WELL HAVE HIS FAULTS, THAT HE DOES, BUT AT LEAST I CAN WRAP MY BRAIN AROUND THE THINGS HE OFFERS. I GET A BETTER SENSE THAT HE FULLY UNDERSTANDS WHAT IT IS LIKE TO BE ME, MY SITUATIONS. I DON'T GET THAT FROM McCAIN ESPECIALLY AFTER HE HAS CHANGED SO MANY TIMES ABOUT EVEN ACKNOWLEDGING THAT THAT IS EVEN A PROBLEM IN AMERICA. AND HIS EARLIER ANSWER THAT THE ECONOMIC PROBLEMS WERE ONLY IN OUR HEADS AND WE SHOULD JUST GET A SECOND JOB AND STOP TAKING VACATIONS, THAT THREW ME! I KNEW THEN THIS MAN DOES NOT GET IT!

WHY IS SENATOR OBAMA'S CONTINUAL SUPPORT OF AFFIRMATIVE ACTION NOT QUESTIONED? OBAMA'S SUPPORT OF AFFIRMATIVE ACTION IS THE STATUS QUO!

There is entirely too much at stake here.... I commend Obama's values in not getting sucked into the whirl wind of Nasty Politics... It is up to the American people to be wiser and more informed.... Do not be distracted by NON_ISSUES... they hold no place in where we as a Nation need to be. If people don't wake up to what is REAL, they will find themselves cast out of the race....

Here's the McCain question I sent to Rachel Ray by request this morning for the upcoming McCain visit to her show. Not sure if it will be heard, but it's certainly being asked... Mr. McCain, This election is making history on so many levels... more so on the Democratic side. With your selection of Palin, isn't this only a Republican attempt to gain the "wanna be history-making" and "wishy-washy Clinton" voters. Your choice of VP has solidified my vote. It may be your first time doing so or not, but you have put OUR (its not yours alone) country's best interest aside and gone for the win at all costs. Question: So, in fact, isn't YOU, Mr. McCain, who will do anything to win this election? And to Ms. Palin, How can you accept a nomination based solely on your gender? The Republican campaign is not based on "Same." or "Change." How about "Backwards."

To Bill Schneider's comment at 8:54pm... in 2000, Al Gore made the election close enough to steal (he did NOT lose) by disavowing his role in a popular administration. Can John McCain possibly gain the White House by disavowing an awful administration in whose actions he was complicit?

I am not a Republican at heart by any means but I do think McCain has more experience than Obama in so many areas, especially regarding military affairs. I do NOT support the war in Iraq but Obama will hurt this country in my opinion given his lack of experience.

Not to mention, Obama's lack of respect for life issues, clearly shows a disfunction that will hurt this country. This isn't an issue about race or gender. It is about issues and where they stand.
