Hey Obamites, I was just on RCP's website and your empty suit's electoral advantage has just vanished. Not only that, McCain is ahead in "firm" electoral votes. Keep up your little "Mc"isms, your sexism and ageism, your hateful rants, and your cute little slogans – your doing a great job.
McCain's message of REAL change is sinking in and the adults are listening. Maybe Obama will take McCain up on a cabinet position. Booo Ha Ha Ha!!!!!

As yesterday was the 7th anniversary of 9/11, I wanted to tell you about a book a read a few weeks ago. The title is “Second Wave” and it is a real eye opener. The fictional story is about how easy it would be for terrorists to hit us again. The author is J.P. Spanik, Jr. I purchased my copy direct from the publisher at PublishAmerica. com You have to read it because there is no b.s. It gets straight to the point.

While Palin may not have learned much about foreign policy in the "cone of silence" but they sure taught her how to avoid subpoenas!

Typical Republican ethics.

Pat F   September 12th, 2008 12:55 pm ET

The junk about Palin saying the war in Iraq was a calling from God is a well-debunked lie. Check factcheck.org or just read something besides your own blogs for a change.

Sage   September 12th, 2008 12:55 pm ET

IF John McCain is really about transparency and running on his war hero status, can someone explain why he REFUSES to release his Military records? as a matter of fact, John McCain in 1991 created legislation that makes it impossible for us to see those records. what does John McCain have to hide? since Cindy Lou (the wealthy mistress turned wife) is campaigning with John where are her tax records? and what about john McCain's pit bull VP pick (political gimmick) when do we see her taxes?

scary thought...   September 12th, 2008 12:54 pm ET

this election will tip in Obamas favor as a result of millions of new, young inexperienced voters, who have no clue about daily life issues and have minimal responsibilities. Most of these new voters are still in school, with some probably still partying away, some never had a real job or real life situations, never had children of their own, elder parents to help take care of … yet somehow they'll decide our next president

Trojan Moose   September 12th, 2008 12:54 pm ET

Calhoun56 Why would I want to entrust my children's and grandchildren's future to a government leach who never learned how to accumulate wealth and security for his family……….Duhh……

What an ignorant comment-just goes to show you can fool some of the people all of the time. Perhaps you have explained to your children and grandchildren that they each owe over $31,000 as their share of the national debt thanks to the heros you put in office

Susan   September 12th, 2008 12:53 pm ET

OK, now that we finally saw unscripted Sarah Palin, it is clear why McCain's campaign kept her away from reporters all this time – even McCain campaign realize how stupid she is!! I think now that even George Bush is much smarter than she is!! She wants to go to a war with Russia – the second nuclear superpower in the World! Did you ever hear Bush, Cheney or even McCain saying that? – they are smart enough not to provoke Russia and start new Cold War! I'm sure military corporations would love new Cold War with Russia – it would bring them hundreds of billions of dollars on top of hundreds of billions of dollars that they get now… But how about us, regular citizens – do we need Sarah Palin's war with Russia?!

Pat F   September 12th, 2008 12:53 pm ET

I love to hear so-called Democrats complaining about, of all things, Sarah Palin's voice!

Firstly, how shallow can you possibly be?

Secondly, it just KILLS some people to hear the voice of a woman with actual authority. They should all be Pam Anderson or Melanie Griffith, eh?

Cactus Jack   September 12th, 2008 12:53 pm ET

I think everyone's tax returns should be public information. We should all be able to look them up on the web. The whole concept of personal privacy is obsolete in our technological society

Sue in MI   September 12th, 2008 12:53 pm ET

Which means, after the election, maybe at the same time they allow her to be interviewed again. Hold her accountable for her actions…just like Obama has been held to the fire, and Hillary. When you have no record of accomplishments in Washington, the press has the responsibility to make sure she is a credible candidate. So far, not so much! In fact, I think she would be a disaster for this country.

PoliticalPardons.org   September 12th, 2008 12:50 pm ET

Joe Biden is doing the right thing providing transparency. The GOP will try to make this a big deal, but that is only to get away from the real issues.

I'll Answer That Question   September 12th, 2008 12:49 pm ET

Can somebody tell me how he could afford that big of a house and property making the kind of money he makes?
——————————————————————————————–
Dear Tom,

Biden's home and his mom's home is on the same property. That has always been understood. It is also understood that the family has had that property for years. Long before the real estate bubble and skyrocketing real estate prices. If you're looking for dirt in Deleware, don't bother. Joe Biden is a solid citizen, and the salt of the earth. Deleware has proven that by voting for him since he was 29 years old–I'd say he's been vetted. Unlike Sarah Failin who we have seen for 14 days, not even a month.

Mike in Houston   September 12th, 2008 12:47 pm ET

Biden will need to pay a lot more in taxes in order for Obama to fund his $1 trillion in new spending and his promise to send 1% of our GDP to the United Nations.

That's ok, if Obama needs more he will just increase taxes again and again until the United States becomes Africa.

The empty suit argument is squashed, so they have duplicate dthe Obama campaign with their beauty queen and "Imma Real" Americans are going to vote all the way and they have a excuse to Obama supporters that they are going to get "real" change.

They are not thinking , the under $250,000 crowd. They would eat their own lg before voting for Obama who would help them out.

When is Obama releasing his tax returns????? McCain had to do it. Why does it seem that since Sara Palin was selected the vice Pesidential nominee has to answer more questions than the Presidential nominees??? How many foreign leaders did Obama meet before he ran for President.??? What does he think of President Bushes policy??? ETC. A little bias on the medias part????"

Quit stirring the pot, nimrod. Obama released his returns during the primaries. And Palin is answering so many questopns because nobody in the lower 48 had heard of her before 3 weeks ago. And I would hazard a guess that if Obama had been asked about the Bush Doctrine, that he, being a constitutional Law expert, and having run for president for 18 months, would know what it is.

Tony's comment above is right on target. He in a few words seemed to define this blog more than any other posters. I agree with him almost 99%

BTW we need to allow more drilling and that will help reduce the price of gas. We also need to explore and fully fund alternative energy sources for our great country.

God will provide we just need to discover. We need to knock on the door and he will open it for us. Seek and we shall find.

I don't trust Obama with our country. He is risky and it would be a roll of the dice with him in charge.

The Obama – Biden team have a lot going for them.
A. Honesty
B. Integrety
C. Sound Judgement
D. A Love of our Country
E. Vast Knowledge of Foreign Affairs
F. World Wide Respect
G. Ability to Change Washington and fix our broken down Economy.

In comparison, the McCain – Palin team are lacking in most of the above quailties…especially the first three.

Daughter Piper, Age 7 Charge YOU the Taxpayers $11,000
Daugher Willow, Age 14 Charged YOU the Taxpayer $6,000
Daughter Bristol, Age 17 Charged YOU the Taxpayer $3,400
Palin's HUSBAND Charged YOU the Taxpayer $19,000
Gov. Palin herself Charged YOU the Taxpayer $93,000

Your comment is awaiting moderation.
Hopefully Democratic politicans will be able to correct any damage they caused by not standing up to the Bush White House in the past. Hopefully American voters will come to their senses and vote to keep another GOP puppet out of the White House, thus allowing both houses of Congress to correct the damage done to America while Bush and his GOP terrorist organization tried to destroy this country: something no outside terrorist organization has been able to do.

We have to break this cycle of elected officials who apparently want to destroy the fabric of our government from within: the government that our forefathers created. If the government doesn't care for the citizens what good is it?

I'm not impressed with a president who is mostly interested in deploying our troops overseas to save a people from themselves. I'm more impressed with a president who will take the necessary actions to ensure that the government is looking out for the welfare of American citizens – using every tax dollar it has to satisfy every American's basic needs before we take on the problems of the rest of the world. This is the purpose of the government.

No one is forced to remain in a country that they hate. If you want anarchy and the "Wild West" atmosphere which the GOP seems to desire, I'm sure there is some place for you, but not the USA!

This is what all the candidates should do – the question is…will Gov. Palin be willing to do so? With her use of per diem funds for sleeping in her own home, I will be most interested to see, 1. If she releases her returns at all, and, 2. If her seemingly endless ability to deceive has spilled over into her payment/lack of income taxes . How many loopholes will we find, IF the transparency that is essential, is actually honored. After all, she is half of a very dishonorable ticket.

Unless there is some sort of major problem uncovered, no. McCain just better hope that Palin claimed the per deim for the 312 nights she stayed at home in 2007. If not, that's tax evasion, and then, YES, WE CARE.

The 312 nights is telling, though. That means she spent a maximum of 53 nights in the capital – less any time she traveled elsewhere. No wonder members of the Alsaka state legislature have been wearing yellow buttons that read "Where's Sarah" – part time mayor to part time governor – great gig when you can accept a full time salaries and then only give part time effort.

Robert Goldstein   September 12th, 2008 12:25 pm ET

Charlie Gibson mistated date of so call Bush Doctrine and referenced it to Iraq for some reason. President Bush declared this doctrine in
Sept 2001 immediately after 9/11. Mr. Gibson with his professorial look referenced the date 2002. Get the facts straight when asking the questions please Mr. Gibson.

Good move on the Obama Camp's part. Now the onus is on the McCain campaign to release theirs…

Since Palin has been a VP candidate a week less that Biden, let's see what we get by next Friday. But of course that won't be good enough for the obviously biased media and most of the posters here.

Independent from GA   September 12th, 2008 12:24 pm ET

As someone who is not a registered democrat, this is another reason why I should vote for Obama as president. This is very honest of Joe Biden. That takes a lot of gut and honesty to let the whole world see his tax returns. It says a lot about character here.

GRACIE   September 12th, 2008 12:24 pm ET

HERE IS WHAT GOV. PALIN HAS FAILED TO TELL YOU, THE TAXPAYERS.

HERE IS WHAT'S BEING CHARGED TO YOU, THE TAXPAYERS, COMPLIMENTS OF GOV. SARAH PALIN AND HER ENTIRE FAMILY!!!!

In separate filings, the state was billed about $25,000 for Palin's daughters' expenses and $19,000 for her husband's.

Daughter Piper, Age 7 Charge YOU the Taxpayers $11,000
Daugher Willow, Age 14 Charged YOU the Taxpayer $6,000
Daughter Bristol, Age 17 Charged YOU the Taxpayer $3,400
Palin's HUSBAND Charged YOU the Taxpayer $19,000
Gov. Palin herself Charged YOU the Taxpayer $93,000

This is just in TRAVEL charges being charged to the TAXPAYERS. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE PER DIEMS being charged by every member of the Palin family for staying at home, hotel rooms, misc. Incidentals, not covered under the "Official State Business" policies.

Flights topped the list for the most expensive items, and the daughter whose bill was the highest was Piper, 7, whose flights cost nearly $11,000, while Willow, 14, claimed about $6,000 and Bristol, 17, accounted for about $3,400.

One event was in New York City in October 2007, when Bristol accompanied the governor to Newsweek's third annual Women and Leadership Conference, toured the New York Stock Exchange and met local officials and business executives. The state paid for three nights in a $707-a-day hotel room. Garnero said the governor's office has the authority to approve hotel stays above $300.

Asked Monday about the official policy on charging for children's travel expenses, Garnero said: "We cover the expenses of anyone who's conducting state business. I can't imagine kids could be doing that."

Cindy   September 12th, 2008 12:22 pm ET

When should we expect Sarah Palins and her hubbies tax returns???

The Nightingale Sings in Berkley Square   September 12th, 2008 12:22 pm ET

Biden's a loser and his tax returns prove it.

Hillary was more qualified says Biden.

Obama is not ready to lead says Biden

I agree with Biden

Gaven   September 12th, 2008 12:22 pm ET

Show your tax returns. Why didn't McShame ask for those before.
This liar will hide her tax returns. May be moose ate them.
The press must go after these two – Palin & Cindy.

Jeff   September 12th, 2008 12:22 pm ET

Lets hope that Obama doesn't decide to attak him on his tax returns, otherwise that may backfire too. When Obama tries to attacked the other candidates, he opens his mouth and stupid falls out. He brought this up only to be clobbered with his own record. And considering how short his records is, it's kind of stupid for his campaign to attempt to paint the Republican ticket with a brush that can be turned on him. This is just another example of bad judgment. Obama needs to open his eyes and focus on the issues otherwise we will be stuck with another Republican administration.

Baze   September 12th, 2008 12:21 pm ET

Great move. Let's see if the "original mavericks" are truly the responsible spenders they claim to be.

FactCheck   September 12th, 2008 12:20 pm ET

> Palin spent about $114,900 traveling in 2007, versus the $516,600
> Murkowski spent the year before

Is Murkowski running for Vice-President? Is he on the campaign trail making himself out to be a "reformer"? Is he spreading lies about the bridge to nowhere? I guess you have to cling to something when logic doesn't bear you out.

Cathy   September 12th, 2008 12:20 pm ET

This just shows that Bidens are just and average couple. Yes they may make a little more money then the average couple but not much considering one is a US Senator and the other is a college professor.

Bob   September 12th, 2008 12:19 pm ET

Disappointing. That much income, and Biden's gifts to charity are negligible to say the least. I make about half of what they do, and gave nearly $7,000 out last year. He runs less than $500 for 2006 and previous.

FactCheck   September 12th, 2008 12:19 pm ET

Beth, OH   September 12th, 2008 12:17 pm ET

GIBSON: What if Israel decided it felt threatened and needed to take out the Iranian nuclear facilities?

PALIN: Well, first, we are friends with Israel and I don't think that we should second guess the measures that Israel has to take to defend themselves and for their security.

GIBSON: So if we wouldn't second guess it and they decided they needed to do it because Iran was an existential threat, we would cooperative or agree with that.

PALIN: I don't think we can second guess what Israel has to do to secure its nation.

GIBSON: So if it felt necessary, if it felt the need to defend itself by taking out Iranian nuclear facilities, that would be all right.

PALIN: We cannot second guess the steps that Israel has to take to defend itself.

Puppet-Parrot-Palin for President!

I bet that McCain and the republican lobbyist who are running his campaign will not release the even the last five years of Palin's tax returns much less ten years.

Cyrus K.   September 12th, 2008 12:16 pm ET

To Scott Tuscon who wrote:

"I'd like to see Obama's list of Islamic donors, might prove interesting reading."

Scott….by Islamic donors, do you mean American Muslims? Or "Islamic donors" are foreign Muslims? First of all, there is no such thing as a "Islamic donor". They are called "Muslims" and not "Islamic". But I am guessing you are too ignorant to figure that out.

Secondly, by law, no campaign can receive donations from foreign/non-American donors. So, neither McCain nor Obama has received any.

Thirdly, if you are implying that Obama has some secret connections to the "Islamic donors", you are nothing but a fool and a hate monger.

American muslims have the right to pick a candidate and donate for him. If you think that millions of law-abiding American muslims don't have the right, and they are all secret terrorists, then I think your citizenship should be revoked and you should be sent to a secret prison in Saudi Arabia.

Mark it down, today is the beginning of the end for the GOP in 2008. From Palin's Moose in the headlights collapse in her interview, to Obama's decisive edge in the forum last night, to the new ads going up today pushing back against the character of an old gezer who approved ads with known lies in them, this is the GOP Waterloo. Sept. 12, 2008.

Bill Clinton knows more about politics than all of us put together. What did he say yesterday? "Barack will win by a pretty comfortable margin." Stop fretting Dems. Look at the electoral map and tell me who has the easiest path to 270?

Enlightened Voter   September 12th, 2008 12:14 pm ET

Biden is open, honest and transparent, unlike his counterpart. Speaking of which I would like to thank her wholeheartedly for handing the race to the democrats. Last night was a sham and we all know it. She knew nothing, it was obvious she crammed and yet still didn't know anything. And then showed her pitbull side by obliging us into a war with Russia. Thanks but no thanks I will choose sanity, stableness, peace, prosperity – I will choose Obama/Biden.

Scott L   September 12th, 2008 12:14 pm ET

Democrats grasping at straws…you have nothing (as always).

When you lose in the fall, who will you put up next time? Hillary? By then Palin will already have proven her capabilities as the next president of the USA. McCain won't run another term. Palin will bring the image of America BACK to the top and lead this great country from 2012-2016 as the first female president.

Democrats will struggle to define their party and further faction will splinter off. Maybe Ron Paul is just ahead of his time…

Scott L   September 12th, 2008 12:12 pm ET

How did this thread turn into a Palin bashing contest?

Man, Democrats are sooooo scared it is not even funny. Too bad you will lose in the fall and VP Palin will make a phenomenal VP for our great country.

You really must be thinking a small hole, because you're here, posting comments, but you still say that people don't pay attention on news on Friday, don't you feel a contradiction in your way of thinking?

Brennan - Iraq War Vet   September 12th, 2008 12:10 pm ET

Why has there not been more coverage of Palin's interview last night? Some of the things she said were outright scary and in general she appeared confused and abrasive. She seemed to get angry at the questions Charlie Gibson was asking. Granted some of the questions were designed to be gotcha type questions(she the Bush Doctrine line of questioning), but she looked really out of place.

Short recap: Sarah Palin believes that we should not question or try to influence Israel's stance on Iran(going to war with Iran), she also believes that the Ukraine and Georgia should have mutual defense pacts from the UN(going to war with Russia), she does agree with Barack Obama on going into Pakistan if we have actionable intelligence on high level Al-Qaeda operatives(John McCain does not), she hopes that we are enacting God's plan in Iraq(she gets points for not trying to say whether it is or isn't, but loses points for thinking that there is a divine plan for foreign policy), she was unclear on her stance for preemptive war(Gibson asked a gotcha question, but after he explained it she still side stepped the question and spoke of imminent threats not preemptive war).

When Obama named Biden his vice-presidential candidate, the press camped outside Biden's house. I subsequently heard on the news that his "estate" was valued at $10 million dollars. Looking at the houses on his property on the news, I can understand why the land was worth that much money. Can somebody tell me how he could afford that big of a house and property making the kind of money he makes? Maybe he bought it 20 years ago when values were less, but he also would have been making less money back then, so seems to me he must have other sources of income he's not reporting.

mike   September 12th, 2008 11:53 am ET

Too bad McCain won't release his. Then again he is computer illiterate, doesn't remember how many homes he has and has adopted the typical republican smear/attack philosophy so why would he? Republicans are hypocrites who cannot win on the issues so they lie, distort and attack ruthlessly in order to influence the public.
I don't think it will work this year.

Typical White Person   September 12th, 2008 11:53 am ET

You bots need to do a little googling before you start tossing out accusations about per diem abuse.

"Palin spent about $114,900 traveling in 2007, versus the $516,600 Murkowski spent the year before, according to state records. Palin's husband, Todd, also travels less than recent first spouses. Murkowski generally refused to fly without his wife, Nancy, who spent $124,000 on airline tickets, meals and lodging bills over four years, according to the governor's office. As of August, Todd Palin had cost the state about $14,000 in travel."

MIKE   September 12th, 2008 11:53 am ET

Where's the "Liberal" media on this one?

If Palin released her tax returns, which she won't, the media would be in a frenzy about it. Joe Biden would be pressured daily to release his returns. I think it says alot about who you can trust to be transparent, and who you can't. You can't trust McCain or Palin, or the corporate media. I don't want to hear another question of Palin unless it involves the phrase, "when can we expect to see your tax returns for the last ten years?" I want personal transparency. I want to know where BOTH McCains and BOTH Palins are getting money, and how much. Then we'll see who the real elitists are!

This is not a game. This is not a horse race. Enough about the beauty queen with no brain, and back to the issues.

NotFallingInLine.org   September 12th, 2008 11:27 am ET

I'd rather be looking at the list of donors to the Clinton Library, but Obama wasn't smart enough to choose Hillary Clinton to be his running mate.

Well, Obama will have no one to blame but himself when he loses in November.

Jeremiah
Elitism is making $100,000 a year? Elistism is taking out a second mortage in your house so your children can go to college? Elitism is working at a community college? Elitism is having 2 jobs? So then what will you call McCain who has 9 homes and his combined income with his wife is $100 million dollars. get real man.

Barbara   September 12th, 2008 11:26 am ET

Good for Joe – now will someone tell us why McCain's military records are so secret? He touts the POW stuff all the time, looks like he would want to prove what a hero he is.

Too many things left unanswered on McCain.

Ruby, Kansas   September 12th, 2008 11:25 am ET

Wha'ts up with the "tax returns" link? Pretty slick CNN. Is that called a distraction?

Spencer from VA   September 12th, 2008 11:25 am ET

Why are the republicans so secretive??? Where's Cindy's and Sara's tax returns? It's ok if you have more than 10 houses John. We know your alzheimer's is kicking in, which is all the more reason why you shouldn't be president.

OBAMA/BIDEN 08

Obama lover   September 12th, 2008 11:25 am ET

To all Obama lovers. You make me sick with dirty phrase against McCain and Palin.Where is your integrity and intellects … JUST ugly comments. My family don't want your company,so will vote McCain.

TexicoFrom Mexico   September 12th, 2008 11:25 am ET

I am really shocked….not one Rebub is saying anyting negative. You see, there is no dirt on Biden whatsoever. I don't think people have a problem debating their issues and differences in the country but when it turns to the absurd….now I say thought that the GOP usually starts these things…now, having said that I know the DEMs can be just as nasty, but you have to admit Republicans that Rove and others really play up this spin bad. Lets debate and discuss the IMPORTANT issues facing us. Terrorists attacks will not bring this country down but finanical instability will! Whoever is in office has to start hammering these compines going overseas! WE NEED SOME FORM OF HEALTH CARE IN THIS COUTNRY…THE STATUS QUO WILL NOT DO!

Breck   September 12th, 2008 11:25 am ET

We love you Joe Biden. The pick of Sarah Palin shows McCain's lack of judgment. You are the Vice President we need just as Obama is the President we need.

Shari, NY   September 12th, 2008 11:21 am ET

Thanks, now can others follow suit?

BKMC   September 12th, 2008 11:21 am ET

It is your turn Sarah Palin to come out clean with your tax releases. We waiting for Cindy's for many months now, but nothing is being made public like McSame's medical records were presented without the component on his long term psychological treatment. God save America from a religious extremist (Palin) and a candidate with hiden medical records (McSame).

John in Ohio   September 12th, 2008 11:20 am ET

"Seeing double" said: "Obama was already on the decline and limping which is why the super delegates had to carry him over the finish line and then proceeded to demand and force all the democrats to vote for him."

Actual pledged delegate count (not superdelegates)
Barack Obama: 1661
Hillary Clinton: 1592

Predicted pledged delegate count (not superdelegates)
Barack Obama: 1,763
Hillary Clinton: 1,640

So, the Democrat leadership should have overruled the majority (allbeit a slim majority) of the pledged delegates to establish your primary candidate (at least the one you claim on the internet to support) as the presidential candidate?

This discussion is over. Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton support Obama. The primaries were won fair and square by Barack Obama.

Matt   September 12th, 2008 11:19 am ET

OBAMA/BIDEN: THE BRIDGE TO NO WAR.

V from Milwaukee   September 12th, 2008 11:19 am ET

Oh man, if McCain-Palin get elected…get ready for the draft!

There aren't enough volunteer troops to take on Russia. I'm booking my ticket to London for November 5th as a safety net, I hope you all will join me!

America is turning into Europe right after WWII. Depleted economy, broken infrastructure, heavy job losses, inflation. But at least Europe was smart enough to not start ANOTHER war.

Rebecca   September 12th, 2008 11:18 am ET

She is a liar. And how about CNN report on the Troopergate scandal and how Palin abused her power. It is pretty clear she is guilty in the fact that she is now trying to cover it up and won't cooperate like she said she would.

Palin also will not release a mound of emails that she is being accused of campaigning from her official computer citing EXECUTIVE PRIVELAGE. Sound familiar? Yes, Bush and Cheney have cited that same privelage more than any other President in history. The problem is that Todd Palin, not a government official, was copied on many of those emails she will not release. Do we really want another 4 years of this?

Maria in Crawford, Texas   September 12th, 2008 11:17 am ET

The American relationship with the Republicans is like that of an abusive husband and his family. We, the American people, are the abused family. Everytime he beats the crap out of us he comes back saying how sorry he is and that he will change this time. Wake up America! We have to break the cycle and get out of this abusive relationship! Don't be fooled again, John McCain will not change! Vote Obama/Biden. They will stop the cycle of abuse of the Republicans to make this a better place for all of us and our kids.

Stacy from Loudoun County VA   September 12th, 2008 11:17 am ET

Oh where art thou Senator McCain and Governor Palin? Dost thou have your income returns online? Thy servants want to know.

Don   September 12th, 2008 11:16 am ET

OK. Time to see Sarah's!

Doug R.   September 12th, 2008 11:15 am ET

When is Sarah Palin going to release her tax returns?? She needs to do so.
Grandpa McCain and his wife also need to release theirs. But then again…I would doubt McCain really has an understanding of taxes and taxation.

Dave   September 12th, 2008 11:15 am ET

Cool deal… now let's see if the "haahcky maahm" will release hers. She may be too busy studying up on what the Bush Doctrine is. Listening to her trying to explain that reminded me of the time Barney Fife tried to explain the Emancipation Proclamation…

What about Palin?

* Is Palin going to release her tax returns?

* Is Palin going to release the secret emails which she is ILLEGALLY claiming "executive privilege on? … hmm … sounds like Bush? Legally: Palin’s refusal to hand over e-mails stands in violation of the Alaska Public Records Act.

* Is Palin going to release the number of secret emails – which she claims Executive Privilege on that she COPIED to her husband Todd who is NOT an elected official?

* Is Palin going to tell her cabinet to STOP fighting subpoenas?

* Is Paling going to release an explanation as to why, like George Bush, why, she starting using her personal yahoo account to do State business on?

Side Note: Palin’s move is eerily reminiscent of Bush administration ploys to dramatically increase secrecy in government, such as when White House aides switched to personal e-mail accounts to avoid subpoenas during the investigation into U.S. Attorney scandal last year:

* Is the Media going to hold her accountable?

Mr Republican   September 12th, 2008 11:11 am ET

That tax return link has nothing to do with Biden, it's McAmnesty's appearance on Letterman. Who's proofing this stuff?

Doug   September 12th, 2008 11:07 am ET

Here's hoping that Sarah Palin will do the same.

Seeing double   September 12th, 2008 11:06 am ET

The democrats run scared- the truth hurts.

Obama soared for years on rhetoric- no other candidate has had such a huge gap exist between accomplishment and achievement and public adulation.

Obama's rise was fueled not by issues- HILLARY WOULD BE THE NOMINEE IF THAT WERE THE CASE- but on charisma, oratory and image.

Obama was already on the decline and limping which is why the super delegates had to carry him over the finish line and then proceeded to demand and force all the democrats to vote for him.

Sarah Palin ended that meteor. She reminds women of how Hillary- who was the BEST candidate to LEAD- was knocked out by hatred, vitriol, insults, sexism and derision. Those negative, demeaning tactics to sabotage a woman will not work to advantage Obama a second time.

ProudDemocrat   September 12th, 2008 11:05 am ET

Good now we need to see Sarah Palin tax returns, all the money she stashed from the "Bridge to no where" Project, I we all now she was in favour of the bridge then it was decided not to build the bridge she kept the money, some of it to her self, also all the money she used for her personl use when she was a governor, we demand all of this information.

Rudy NYC   September 12th, 2008 11:05 am ET

Still waiting for the McCain's to release their tax info. They keep claiming that it is not required. It isn't required. It's just a show of honesty.

Notice how Obama's campaign hasn't needed to form a "Biden Truth Squad". Why not? Because this guy is open and honest about everything. No scandals, no skeletons in the closet, he's just a nice guy and a solid performer as a Senator.

Joe   September 12th, 2008 11:03 am ET

He's obviously hiding something since he is releasing them on a Friday when most people will not pay attention to the news over the weekend.

Gotta love transparency! Joe Biden is a standup guy. He might say things without fully thinking about their impact at times (haven't we all done that?), but he is honest, decent, and such a great family man. He will be an excellent Vice President.

AMERICA: Let's vote for the truly honest and intelligent team, OBAMA-BIDEN. Palin's interview with ABC showed a complete lack of competence to be VP. Give me good ole Joe anytime!
