Investigator wants subpoena for Palin's husband

Todd Palin sat with his wife, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, during the final night of the Republican convention.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (CNN) - A special counsel has asked Alaskan lawmakers to subpoena Gov. Sarah Palin's husband and a dozen aides as part of the investigation into Palin's firing of her public safety commissioner.

Todd Palin has been a "principal critic" of his wife's ex-brother-in-law, State Trooper Mike Wooten, and had "many contacts" with Department of Public Safety officials about his status, said Steve Branchflower, the former prosecutor hired by the state Legislature to investigate the firing.

Sarah Palin, now the Republican nominee for vice president, is battling allegations that she and her advisers pressured then-Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan to fire Wooten - and that Monegan was canned when he refused.

Palin has said she fired Monegan over budget issues and denies any wrongdoing.

  1. Obama-Biden God Bless America

This is not sexist. Why was everyone so tough on Hillary yet the media has fallen for Palin – a practically non-existent female governor who suddenly believes she can be our VP (and possibly our president).
This commissioner issue must be taken care of just like it would be for ANYONE. Stop this nonsense. Choosing Palin is like choosing Elizabeth from the View – and what a mess that would have been.

The real question is will they get access to her e-mails, which, like Bush, she is claiming are subject to executive privilege. This could get interesting

IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A GOOD IDEA FOR THE MCSAME TO CHECK PALIN BEFORE. NOW ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN, I WATCHED THAT INTERVIEW AND SHE DID NOT LOOK CONFORTABLE. AND IT S TOO LATE TO CHANGE HIS MIND.ONE ON ONE WITH JOE BIDEN SHE WILL BE CHEWED AND SPART. IT SEEM LIKE MCSAME IS TOO USED TO GETTING HIS WAY AND THAT IS WHY HE CHALLENGES OBAMA TO TOWN HALL MEETING. TO BE HONEST DO YOU THINK THOSE TOWN MEETING WOULD FAVOUR OBAMA.

Apparently her husband is fair game since Sarah Palin copied him on all her emails regarding this. Although she has refused to release the contents of these emails they do have the subject line and who it was sent to.

    BUSTED!!!

ARE WE GOING TO PAY ATTENTION NOW??

The Obama Machine. What a shocker. Funny enough though, he still wont win because most of America still believes in the same fundamentals that this country was founded on, regardless of how much the left tries to change it. Hey kids, go stand in line to get your drivers license and then pretend your at the hospital or the doctor or any other place you think you want the government to control. Because thats what it will be like if you let a socialist like Obama in control. Try to see it objectively for once.

Well, I remember Watergate quite clearly. It started very much like this probe on Palin.

Unfortunately back then, it took too long to get to the truth.

While its not directly involved with Palin's fitness for the VP job – it does give a whole lot of insight into her character – should these allegations become true.

What I really don't understand is why people keep on ignoring this and other facts about Palin that are potentially appalling and clearly unacceptable – such as her obvious tendency to make her religion part of her job.

If John McCain was 60-something and with a great health history – Palin would just be a diversion. But he's not – and that puts Palin in a place that deserves far more scrutiny. We really need to evaluate her abilities to become the President of the United States – so far, we have really been avoiding all the skeletons in her closet that can cause real concern.

The reason she trying to fight so hard to have the supeonas overturned is because she knows she did it!

What is the phrase : a hit dog will holler.

And she is screaming right now!

  18. Palin = NO common sense

Can people see how ridiculous this woman is? That interview was horrible. 1) She doesn't know the Bush doctrine 2) She would get us into war with Russia 3) She looked and sounded like she was on an interview for her first job ever 4) If something happened to McCain could you imagine that running the White house. WOW.

And she fired that man and its going to come out. Liars get what they deserve. No way, No how, No McCain, No Palin.

  21. Hockey Moms 4 Obama

Sarah Palin should also be subpoena. Why is she any special.

We hockey moms are so pissed at Sarah for using this to promote her career. Cindi McCain also got into the act and said that she is a hockey mom. We would like to know if she has ever been to an unheated arena. That's what most hockey moms have to do. Her $300,000 outfits will not do so.

Obama and Biden is the ticket for the next 4 years....

  22. More!

People should ask why her husband seems to always sit in on important meetings and be with her constantly. Notice he is CC'd on her emails? Why haven't more questions been asked about how he is so connected to her along with his connections to BP oil?

This is getting more and more concerning regarding this investigation. Why are they pushing so hard to investigate whch can only mean there is more to it than what is being said and it will come out. So, the delay tatics Palin is trying to do by having another panel investigate and fighting the subpoenaes is a delay tactic until after the election. Oops, can't let the real Palin be seen.
