Investigator wants subpoena for Palin's husband

Todd Palin sat with his wife, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, during the final night of the Republican convention.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (CNN) - A special counsel has asked Alaskan lawmakers to subpoena Gov. Sarah Palin's husband and a dozen aides as part of the investigation into Palin's firing of her public safety commissioner.

Todd Palin has been a "principal critic" of his wife's ex-brother-in-law, State Trooper Mike Wooten, and had "many contacts" with Department of Public Safety officials about his status, said Steve Branchflower, the former prosecutor hired by the state Legislature to investigate the firing.

Sarah Palin, now the Republican nominee for vice president, is battling allegations that she and her advisers pressured then-Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan to fire Wooten - and that Monegan was canned when he refused.

Palin has said she fired Monegan over budget issues and denies any wrongdoing.

lol... The media is all I hear.

Actually, it wasnt the media who started this. Its was Sarah Palin who knew she was corrupt. You think Americans believe lies from this woman? Youre dead wrong

I hope that even with all the negative bantering between the candidates and some of the ads and statements have been entertaining as well as disgusting, when we get into that booth in November we will indeed vote on the issues and not the spin.

If McCain is not the commander in chief of the campaign, then he needs to step down as the presidental nominee or lowereed to the vice presidential spot. The presidency is won by the fighter, not the candidate who hires a fighter. Essentially Palin is being used only in McCain's place to fulfill his ambition, and this is in conflict with his "country first" campaign theme.

Here we see Obama's promise of a clean campaign. He has run a smear compaign since Iowa.

Obama is more of the same.

If Palin wants to be 2nd in line to run this country, then she needs to put EVERYTHING on the table. This includes the soon-to-be findings of her alleged "abuse of power" investigation, more on her position that she is against abortion in cases of rape and incest, her non-support of equal pay for women, and her now "unaccessible" emails. Of course, the list is much longer. Why should Palin be handled differently from any other candidate? To block any of this information, or refusing to respond to these issues, Palin would be telling America that she doesn't have to be held to the same standard that every other candidate has been. Thank goodness the American people are paying close attention to this campaign.

I thought I heard that Hollis French ran against Sarah Palin for some post in the past. (Please correct me if I am mistaken.) If that's correct, he's probably not impartial.

What I know I saw was French along with 2 other investigators in this case at an Obama rally. Not too partisan, huh?

Do you want to know how this happened? Obama campaign contacted the troopers union. Obama is right in the middle of this. The commishoner already said he was never ask or told to fire the trooper, but he said in his heart of hearts he thought that is why he got fired.

Palin is a liar. Why would she agree one day to cooperate and then change her mind (flip flop). If you are innocent there is nothing to hide, except in Palin's case.

Bring them to justice! How can she even think about becoming the VP of the United States with this hanging over her head. She is no different than the other lying Republicans.
