Obama set to make SNL appearance Saturday

Hillary Clinton's SNL appearance last year may have changed the dynamic of the primary race.
Hillary Clinton's SNL appearance last year may have changed the dynamic of the primary race.

(CNN) - Barack Obama may appear with Sarah Palin Saturday night - a look-alike of the Alaska governor, that is.

Obama is set to make a cameo appearance on the season premiere of NBC's Saturday Night Live, his second appearance on the sketch comedy show.

The surprise appearance was first reported by People Magazine. It remains unclear exactly what Obama will do on the show — but there’s a chance it could have something to do with the political world's latest superstar and headline-grabber.

Meanwhile, SNL executive producer Lorne Michaels is staying mum on who will portray Palin, but he told reporters in a conference call Thursday discussions are ongoing with Tina Fey, the SNL alum who some say bears a striking resemblance to the Alaska governor.

He also said he's hoping to tap former SNL cast member Maya Rudolph to play Michelle Obama.

The show has already left a mark on this election season, widely crediting with helping soften Hillary Clinton’s image during the New York senator's cameo last February. A series of sketches last season portraying members of the media in love with Obama were also credited with raising a general perception of unfair coverage of the two Democratic presidential contenders.

BRAVO..... look forward to watching. We need to "lighten" up just a bit. All this McCain garbage is getting very OLD and PREDICTABLE. I can almost tell what new Ad is going to come out of the McCain camp. He does nothing but complain and attack.

Palin may look like Tina Fey, but when she talks, she sounds exactly like Julia Sweeney. Bring her back, that would be hilarious.

    Gibson: "....the Bush Doctrine?"

That's right Obama, laugh at your haters. If you were not doing your thing, they wouldn't try so hard to replace you with Palin. Her interview with Gibson was not credible last night, and yet I hear no one talking about it....HMMMMM...

Hey you don't need the SNL cast to portray the Palin family – this bunch already handles themselves like a SNL skit – gone bad!

  10. The right to vote!

Did anyone notice that Palin was really high-strung and defensive in her interview yesterday? Even though the prepared script was flying from her mouth, she looked like she was freaking out.

    scary.

    nothing can save obama now....

If he had picked Hillary for VP, he could have won, but his judgement is not as good as he proclaims – chosing a washington insider who got about 2% of the primary votes instead of REAL CHANGE – the first woman VP who would have helped you win the election – shows you are NOT ready to be President.

    That should work well...

He can just try to speak off teleprompter and it will be hillarious...

Considering he's a joke this is a great arena for him...

I love it whenever Obama is on that show. Not only is he smart,
he's funny and yes he's young.I wish Biden would go on SNL,
he's got a great sense of humor too.

Funny! If so, I'll be watching SNL. This is the only place where silliness is allowed in this election!

McCain-Palin administration would just be a continuation of Bush-Cheney. If the way John McCain and Sarah Palin are campaigning is any indication, it would be much, much WORSE. (ref: New York Times)

  20. Indian. (Who doesn't care, but is amused)

Did any one notice? W has approved striking terrorists inside Pakistan. A while ago when O promised to do this if he were to become the president, W had mocked at him in international arenas. Interesting to observe who is following whom. But then you guys wont have time for these issues amidst bothering yourselves with more serious issues like pigs, wolves and lipstick and what not.

BIG DEAL..... Who cares about the SNL show, just another example of
the media driven campaign of Obama's soul train. Also, since Obama
resembles "Curious George", perhaps, the SNL writers can create a skit with him portraiting the lead role... now that would be funny!

Does Obama go out of his way to ruin his chances at this presidency?

The more the Obamabots Palin, the more the Independent voters lean toward McCain.

Since Palins character will be in this skit I am predicting a huge back lash happening.

What may have worked for Hillary Clinton will not work for the Dahli Bama.
