That is the most ignorant thing a person can say, Marci. Try to base your future opinions on facts. Learn about the issues before you open your mouth... you will appear less foolish. Think about the hard truths here... what new ideas does Obama bring to the table? None. What has accomplished as a US Senator? Nothing. Who knows what he even stands for? Do you? If so, please give me one specific example of something Obama has ever actually accomplished, or an original idea or his, and I will be very impressed. McCain has proven himself time and again through the legislation he has authored and the wisdom and judgement he has shown in forming policies (i.e. the troop surge, killing the bridge to nowhere, McCain/Feingold, McCain/Kennedy, just to name a few). He is not George Bush. He is not even a conservative Republican. He is an honest man who will do great things for this country.

No worries, as Palin keeps talking, that number will tank. McCain did not vet her, and that Alaska investigation will be the fall of his bid to win in November. Palio is suppsesly going to Washington to reform everyone according to McCain, but if Palin is found to have abused her power, the only reform she will be doing is in jail or community service and perhaps then she'll "sorta" learn what a community service organizer does.

Are you serious? When I saw this headline I laughed out loud. I don't care how many polls you combine. It's just not possible to eliminate error. Even if you were able to eliminate sampling error by polling the entire populace, you still have error because it's impossible to predict how people would actually behave on election day. And don't even get me started on the "undecided voters". Anyone with a basic knowledge of statistics would know that. Shame on you, CNN. Do you guys even have a statistician on staff? This is yet another example of the media treating this Presidential Election as if it were some sporting event. Because someone has to be winning and someone losing, right? Enough with the polls. They're notoriously inaccurate and thus meaningless. But if you insist on using them, the responsible action is to state that polls that fall within the margin of error indicate that the race is even.

I think that these polls are probably pretty close. As a supporter of Obama I have troubles not being worried about them. I do, however, think that any boost Obama would have gotten from the convention and VP pick got lost in McCain's VP pick and convention. Palin has energized both bases, but fortunatly for the Democrats, she brings a lot of baggage that will destroy McCain's campaign late. Also, many of the Clinton hold outs will turn out and vote for Obama even though they are saying they won't. It's tough to think that you could go against your ideals that much to vote for McCain just to make a statement (Hillary should have been VP) that wouldn't matter much in the long term anyway. The Cilnton supporters have more to lose than to gain to vote for McCain.

It is only a matter of time before the gap is closed between these two candidates and Obama takes the lead. As a country we are smarter than John McCain thinks. Sarah looked good, initially, for his chances, but the "Bloom is off the Rose", because when she talks nothing comes out. Sort of like dating a really good looking person who ruins it all when they speak....what a real turn off. I am also sickened by the picture that was shown last night on 20/20 with her standing next to a kill of a deer or moose, whatever. It was very brutal. If y ou beleive in "life", are pro-life, then why are you a "hunter" and why do you kill?

Have a look at the Newsweek poll: Questions 22-26.

OVER 50% of the people polled in that poll DO NOT know that:
1. Palin said 'thanks but no thanks' to the Bridge to nowhere only AFTER it was clear Congress would NOT fund it.
2. Palin is against abortion in the cases of RAPE and INCEST (only supports it IF the mother's live is in danger).
3. Palin has serious DOUBTS about the role of human activities in causing global warming.

It is really telling how uninformed the people that are polled are.

I would like to know to whom are they asking these questions. I have never been polled, none of my family and fiends have ever been polled, and no one I have ever worked with has been polled. I was saying the same same thing when Obama was in the lead. I am starting the think that the polls are rigged, but then again Bush was elected twice. Maybe the American people are that dumb. Look at where this country is. Gas prices through the roof, people loosing their homes, an unjust war, just to name a few of the problems thaey we have under the Republican rule. McCain is always hollering country first, I don't see it. If the country was first it would not be in the position it is in now. The American people better wake up if they expect us to keep standing. Looks like we are heading down the same rode the Romans went down and we all know what happened to them. WAKE UP AMERICA.

Are the pollsters surveying the newly registered who came out in record numbers to support Obama in the Democratic primary? These people would likely vote in the general election because they finally have a candidate they can be excited about? I have not seen any information on who is being polled. Most young people, recent college graduates, have only cell phones and wouldn't be considered likely voters because they traditionally don't vote. If they are included in the polls, wouldn't Obama be way ahead?

just like in the lipstick chronicles of last week CNN's focus on national polling numbers reflects an obsession with the totally meaningless. As the last two elections have shown, national polls that measure the popular vote are absolutely meaningless in a presidential race that is going to be determined by the state by state electoral college numbers. CNN would better serve its viewers and readers if it maintained a focus on the battleground states that are going to determine a selection.

Cindy McCain refused to answer when asked, on The View, how many houses the McCains own, saying that that information is not part of this campaign! Now who are the real elitists here? The mega-rich Republican candidates and their huge corporate supporters, of course. (Some may say that Palin is not rich. I don't know how much money her family has but she bills the state of Alaska for so many of her personal expenses that it doesn't really matter- money is obviously not a Palin problem).How can middle and lower-income Americans continually fall for the Republicans' empty promises- you would think that after 8 years of falling prosperity under Bush (which followed the 8 years of rising prosperity under Clinton) that even those with short political memories would wake up!
