McCain ad slams Obama, Senate Democrats on immigration

New McCain ad blames Obama and Democrats for death of immigration overhaul effort.
New McCain ad blames Obama and Democrats for death of immigration overhaul effort.

(CNN) –
John McCain’s campaign is running a Spanish language ad in battleground states that blames Barack Obama and Senate Democrats for the failure of attempts to overhaul the nation’s immigration laws - even though the Republican nominee and his Democratic counterpart cast identical votes in the key Senate showdowns on that issue last year

“Obama and his congressional allies say they are on the side of immigrants. But are they?” asks the announcer in the 30-second spot, “Which Side Are They On?”

“The press reports that their efforts were 'poison pills' that made immigration reform fail,” he continues. “The result: No guest worker program. No path to citizenship. No secure borders. No reform. Is that being on our side? Obama and his Congressional allies ready to block immigration reform, but not ready to lead.”

But Obama and McCain cast identical votes in the major congressional showdowns on the issue last year. Both men cast votes in favor of an unsuccessful early June effort to end a filibuster. Later that month, they voted again to end debate on the issue – but again failed to shut down the filibuster effort, led for the most part by Republican senators.

The ad will air in Colorado, New Mexico and Nevada, all crucial fall states with significant Hispanic voting populations.

...he's at it again! Throwing around mud and saying lies – hoping that something will stick!

Fortunately, the only stick is the one growing between McPinocchio's eyes!

Shocker, McCain camp lying? Say it isn't so. What's sad is that Americans are stupid enough to believe it all.

Is that all Mccain is about: lying? This is amazing. Outright lies. not even partially true. Isn't there a law against this kind of behavior. I mean, there are a lot of stupid people in America who will see one of Mccain's lie fest ads and they will believe what they are hearing. It will be a shame if Mccain wins. I hope the electoral college isn't as easily fooled as the American people.

This is the 'value' voters party – lie, cheat and steal to win. Great values. It seems people are more outraged about possible impropriety with Chinese gymnast than actual impropriety in the leadership of America.

Was this the deal with Limbaugh, choose a right wing, pro life VP, and he will let McCain run a pro immigration plank?
I wonder what the Palins think about Immigration, as it is being learned that Todd has a LOT to do with the Palin ideology; the Separatist Todd, who was signed up to a party that is officially, in their written Mission Statement, haters of the American Flag.
Why Todd is NOT even a Republican and y'all know that the ONLY patriots in America are in the Red Party!?

McCain has lied so many times, who believes this guy anymore. I don't even read or care to watch McCain's ads anymore. Once a lier, always a lier.

I hear or see the name 'McCain', and the first thing that comes to mind is LIE. The same goes for his unexperienced VP choice, Palin – another lier.

Other nations watching this election, what do you think they think of McCain and Palin, when all they hear about these two are just lies.

Are our foreign leaders going to believe what McCain says or what Palin says – I don't think so. Talk about a gullible country we will become if two Liers are elected into office.

McCain and Palin are truly a ticket of disaster.

Shocking... Not from the straight talk express? All I have to say is, if this is how much lying he is doing before he gets into office, what do people think he is going to do once he gets in?

This campaign is intended to US citizen not to illegal aliens. Why does Sen. McCain needs and ad in Spanish? Immigration issues have to be discussed an debated among US citizens. Does McCain run for the Mexican Presidency. What a futile and useless politician...from the old guard..

When are the American people going to get sick and tired of the lies and half-truths of the Republican party? What happened to this country's spine?

the mccain campaign should be tried for all the lies they spew
p.s. the grammar in this ad is incorrect. there is no verb that is conjegated to reflect who is not ready to govern. and listos refers to a plural subject, but is in reference to obama. why do i write this? well, if there was a single person in mccain's camp who actually spoke spanish or knew anyone other than wasp's, s/he would have been able to make the ad grammatically correct.

If the democrates can put out half truths about Palin the same can be done to him.

A campaing Ad is the exact example of how a nominee is going to run this country. If it is false and misleading so will this spill over in the white house. If it is factual etc that is exactly how that nominee is going to run the white house. We need to make them accountable to our funds.
