McCain ad slams Obama, Senate Democrats on immigration

New McCain ad blames Obama and Democrats for death of immigration overhaul effort.

New McCain ad blames Obama and Democrats for death of immigration overhaul effort.

(CNN) -
John McCain’s campaign is running a Spanish language ad in battleground states that blames Barack Obama and Senate Democrats for the failure of attempts to overhaul the nation’s immigration laws - even though the Republican nominee and his Democratic counterpart cast identical votes in the key Senate showdowns on that issue last year

“Obama and his congressional allies say they are on the side of immigrants. But are they?” asks the announcer in the 30-second spot, “Which Side Are They On?”

“The press reports that their efforts were 'poison pills' that made immigration reform fail,” he continues. “The result: No guest worker program. No path to citizenship. No secure borders. No reform. Is that being on our side? Obama and his Congressional allies ready to block immigration reform, but not ready to lead.”

But Obama and McCain cast identical votes in the major congressional showdowns on the issue last year. Both men cast votes in favor of an unsuccessful early June effort to end a filibuster. Later that month, they voted again to end debate on the issue – but again failed to shut down the filibuster effort, led for the most part by Republican senators.

The ad will air in Colorado, New Mexico and Nevada, all crucial fall states with significant Hispanic voting populations.

The truth has always hurt Obama. He did not like it when Hillary spoke the truth and he certainly does not like it from McPalin. Nostradamus said that when the next antichrist comes he will be a good speaker, convincing and seem righteous and will lie his way into the Whitehouse.
This sounds awfully like Mr. Obama. He is not fooling me, I will never vote for him even though that means I will have to vote republican for the first time.

    McCain is flat out lying!

This is not a very honorable way to run a campaign.

Is this the kind of dirty politics McCain will use to run the country?

    More of thesame.

How can a God fearing man? People calling themselfs Christians, be telling lies of this size??
God is watching and they should know that there is no excuse on the last day.
My Bible said: in the time of ignorance God overlooks.

But knowing the truth and turning it upside down. God will not overlook it.

Shameful. There is no lie nor no depth to which McCain will not stoop to to win. Why doesn't he blame Obama for Pearl Harbor?

We ALREADY HAVE guest worker programs, as well as pathways to citizenship. We DO NOT need anymore types of guest worker programs. I am sure glad McCain promised a clean campaign. Just check out all the news articles from many sources today on the web to catch up on all the lies McCain is getting away with.

What a complete scumbag John McCain has become. But, hey, that's what happens when you get into bed with Karl Rove. That, and you don't get a fair share of the covers. Let's hope for all our sakes, that only 49% of Ohioans are fooled by his mud slinging, his half truths and his outright lies.

I haven't hear anything on Obama side regarding benefits for hispanic not even on the democratic convention, Obama doesn't care about us, he doesn't know how we stand right now on latinamerica on what is happening with venezuela, bolivia, mexico etc, etc, he hasn't been in or traveling in latinamerica, the only person I haved seen is McCain he's been there, he had fought for two reforms for people who really deserves permanet residense or visa. Obama will need us before november 4. I'm Hispanic proud American citizen and like Democratic Delegate Donna Brazile says on one interview Obama doesn't need the Hispanic vote to win. I will vote for McCain for a real change.

How can this man get away with flat out lies?! He's not even stretching the truth anymore. He's just plain making stuff up. He must think people are stupid, and sadly, maybe he's right. : (

Will the lies never stop? The longer this goes on, the less I like McCain. I used to think he was okay, but since he has brought Palin on board, I question is ability to make important decisions. If he makes rash illogical decisions like this, if he were president, what other foolish decisions would he make? His nasty, lie filled commercials have caused me to dislike this man very much.

How in the world does John McCain get away with these lies? I wish he would focus on the issues and stop lying to the American people. I hope America does not fall for these lies on election day.

I think that the blatant lies coming from the republican party and Senator McCain's office should be considered slander and should be actionable.

What is wrong with these people?

Why and how is this allowed?

This is just the kind of tactics that the Obama campaign is trying to change, but I must say, I am so disappointed in the American people. You would think that after 8 years of the Bush Administration and all of the ugliness, people would b e hungry for genuine change! It seems that people are still buying this stuff.

McCain said clearly during the CNN forum on Thursday night and again on The View yesterday that the tone of his campaign would have been different if Obama agreed to do the town hall meetings McCain wanted. I expect that this last week of McCain's nonstop lies and negative ads are only a preview of how ugly it's' going to get. This man's nastiness scares the heck out of me.

McCain is using the media to drown out Obama's message. And it's working some what. The media needs to stop reacting to McCain's negative ads and foucs on the issues. Plus call McCain out even more.....

Why does every single McCain ad lie or mislead?

Oh yeah... because lying is justified if your opponent doesn't agree to subject the country to a series of ridiculous town hall meetings unlike any in the history of US presidential debates. Yes, according to McCain, the most egregious lies and slander are perfectly okay if your opponent hasn't agreed to coddle every single one of your lunatic demands.

If we elect the McCain Pain Train, this country will deserve every bit of the nightmare the next four years will be.

Here is a perfect example of Carl Rove's trained DIRTY TRICKS political activists. LIERS< LIES< LIES< . Half truths, twisted facts. These are the very same guys who SLIMED McCain in 2000 in his contest against BUSH. These Carl Rove operatives at that time circulated the rumor that McCain had fathered a BLACK CHILD.. The dark skinned girl was an adopted child from BENGLEDESH. How low these SCUMBAGS will go is unknown. But John McCain is enjoying every moment of it. WAKE UP AMERICA. You may get a 73 year old man with a history of life theatening CANCER (MELANOMA) with an unqualified self serving LIER ,unvetted person waiting in the wings ONE HEART BEAT AWAY FROM THE OVAL OFFICE. Can we afford to take such a chance??????

This is not surprising. It's just one of a series of recent ads from McCain in which the content does not match the facts. But thankfully it seems that he is getting called out on it quicker and quicker with each new fabrication.

    Dear Friends:
God warns of the movement and affront of man against another nation. He made many languages as such. The Latinos want our land our government and avengance from the Alamo. Send them back. WE are not the answer to their cowardly acts as they do not stand up and take back and mold the societies to be good in their nations. So why should we have to endure thier crimes, and their wants, wants, wants, Go back to your government as they have shelters. Seek them out and protect this nation it is your constitutional duty. For we the people of the USA vote and speak out.

Protect your nation! For the Children and Tomorrow.
