McCain ad slams Obama, Senate Democrats on immigration

New McCain ad blames Obama and Democrats for death of immigration overhaul effort.

New McCain ad blames Obama and Democrats for death of immigration overhaul effort.

(CNN) -
John McCain’s campaign is running a Spanish language ad in battleground states that blames Barack Obama and Senate Democrats for the failure of attempts to overhaul the nation’s immigration laws - even though the Republican nominee and his Democratic counterpart cast identical votes in the key Senate showdowns on that issue last year

“Obama and his congressional allies say they are on the side of immigrants. But are they?” asks the announcer in the 30-second spot, “Which Side Are They On?”

“The press reports that their efforts were 'poison pills' that made immigration reform fail,” he continues. “The result: No guest worker program. No path to citizenship. No secure borders. No reform. Is that being on our side? Obama and his Congressional allies ready to block immigration reform, but not ready to lead.”

But Obama and McCain cast identical votes in the major congressional showdowns on the issue last year. Both men cast votes in favor of an unsuccessful early June effort to end a filibuster. Later that month, they voted again to end debate on the issue – but again failed to shut down the filibuster effort, led for the most part by Republican senators.

The ad will air in Colorado, New Mexico and Nevada, all crucial fall states with significant Hispanic voting populations.

McCain lies again–why doesn't CNN call him on all of his lying?

Nobody except the View has tried to make him own up to all of the eyes. He said that he wouldn't have to made up all of the negative ads if Obama had done Town Hall meetings. Obama made him do it? What a bully and a loser!!

    GO OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a hispanic american I can say the mccain/palin ticket will not recieve my support. I have seen alot more underlined racist comments from the republicans then from obama. I have not heard one thing mccain would do for hispanic americans. I cannot vote for someone that will not answer questions. Plus she has only been in the public eye for 2 months.NO WAY! THIS IS AN OUTRAGE THAT THIS GOV. IS EVEN BEING CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION.

Do we really want a President who lies his way to the office? Our current president has been "less than honest" with the American people.

There’s an old proverb…..sometime when you win, you actually loose. McCain is willing to loose his honor and integrity to win the race. At the end….did he really win.

This is rich. Wasn't McCain the one who backed out of his own legislation?

What a friggin' lier. We're seeing a trend here. McCain, the GOP, sees his own flaws, projects those on Obama, and lies about everything. I'm so sick of this. LOOK PAST THE LIES!

Their last few commercials have been universally panned as highly misleading or outright lies. It suggests that a new team has been put in charge of campaign ads and this is what it came up with.

Well after giving this blog a two week reprieve, I see it is not worth it to come back to this one-sided constant attack blog.

This reporter is crap. Why interject a point regarding McCain's record of recent and ignore all his work on immigration laws? What is wrong with this website? The biased lack of objectivity and reporting goes on. CNN reporters act like citizens, it is really bad.
Once again, the Democrats love to lose. It is good to know your enemy, instead of just talking about them.

Moving on, nothing to learn from this news outlet.

Stop The Lies from McCain & Palin

When will the media hold McCain and Palin responsible for telling lies to the American people because they want to win the election very ugly? First, McCain was spending months to attack Senator Obama of inexperience. McCain just selected an inexperienced running mate (Palin) and knowing that he is as guilty as the devil, the McCain campaign and the republicans used the RNC Convention to attack the media (and Obama Campaign) as sexiest that really hates Palin so much, so that the media will refrain from reporting the truth about Palin.
Unfortunately, the media is keeping mute and shy away from their job to report the truth to the American people so that the McCain campaign will not tag the media as sexist. The McCain campaign over the last three weeks are campaigning and promoting Internet, radio and TV Ads lying to the American people, and the media is quiet about it.
The latest ad is the new McCain ad that blames Senator Obama for death of immigration overhaul effort even though records show that Senator Obama and McCain cast identical votes in the major congregational showdowns on the issue last year led by the Republican senators. Stop the McCain Campaign now before they run the Ads in Colorado, New Mexico and Nevada.
Palin and Republicans on her part mocked Senator Obama’s experience as a community organizer. American people were really insulted by that.
It is time the media stands up and do their work, call the spade a spade, hold McCain and Palin responsible for their lies. The LIES now have a pattern in their campaign. The media will also be blamed (conscience) for not standing up to do their part in true reporting. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

    Whoa, whoa.

McCain is blasting Obama over immigration? Even after McCain buckled to the psychotic right wing, abandoning his principles and integrity to such an extent that he wouldn't even vote for immigration reform legislation that he himself wrote?

    The mind. It boggles.

The slime of all slime – John McCain wants to corral a presidential election by prostituting his mother!

What kind of America does he think he would rule if he becomes President now?

I predict riots in the street. I predict a slime ball President who will be viled and hated by half of America.

There will be a French Revolution in America with Conservative at the Gilotine should McCain steal this election like the Serpant at the Garden!

John MCcain should be a shamed of himself running an ad that both he and Obama voted against. What a horrible lie does he think the hispanic people are stupid and they do not read and know what both voted for during the Immigration debate in the Washington. I hope Obama will bring this add out and even bring out the list were both of them voted. McCain has no regard for people when he says american comes he first he means MCcain comes first. Such a lie makes me lose all respect for him. I hope none of the spanish people fall for this type of sleaze add. Shame on you McCain you ought to know better.

As a Latin-American who is a US citizen I find this ad most repulse and racist, there is no other way to describe it. McSame and the republicans are a bunch racist, they are on a quest from "GOD" to free America of the immigrants legal or illegal if their not white and have an accent kill them, just like the Nazis did with the Jews in the '30s and '40s, they blame them for Germany's problems they were scapegoats.

Once aging history is repeating itself, for the love of God and the human race don't let this Neo-Nazis cloak as republicans in the White House it will be the end of America.

This ad is a microcosm of the Republicans style of politics. They always go on the offensive with their smear campaign of lies and untruths because they obviously believethe majority of the American people are out of touch with the real issues and that they're ignorant enough to buy into their smear campaign. I guess people want to hear smears than a plan that will help improve their future.

The world is watching this election and I guess they're seeing something that they've seen before and that is the fact that some people will say and do anything for power and that the American public is stupid enough to let the same BS happen over and over and over.

I doubt that the Unions that back Obama will let him help the millions of workers that are working is the USA. Well, if the big companies don't have cheap labor here in the USA they should move to China where is plenty of cheap labor. People just get it.

    Im voting McCain/Palin
