Palin leaves Alaska, heads back to the trail

Palin and her husband Todd appeared in Alaska Saturday.
Palin and her husband Todd appeared in Alaska Saturday.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (CNN) – Sarah Palin’s most recent visit to Alaska may have been her last – at least until Election Day.

At a rally in Anchorage on Saturday morning, there was a wistful note in Palin’s voice as she spoke about the coming weeks of campaigning.

Her speech came after spending two days in her home state doing an interview with ABC News and seeing her eldest son off to Iraq. Palin spent two nights at her home in Wasilla overlooking Lake Lucille.

“We've got a little travel planned for the next 52 days,” Palin said, “but I'll be home come November and I would like to bring along my friend - our friend Senator John McCain as the President-elect.”

The governor said she will take comfort in having her husband Todd at her side throughout the campaign. And she promised to keep Alaska in mind while on the road.

Palin noted that she has been criticized for governing a sparsely populated state, but, she said, “thank you God for that, because we’re small enough to be family.”

“So Alaska, the lessons you have taught me in these years of service as a mayor and as a commissioner and then as a governor, I thank you for what you have instilled in me,” she said. “There is no better place to come from than Alaska.”

At the airport before departing for a campaign stop in Reno, Nevada, Palin hugged family members goodbye on the tarmac and waved to television cameras before taking off.

  1. No Morals

Of course she's coming back because McCain doesn't have a prayer without her.

Unless she's ready to talk to the press and not do a puff piece, don't bother coming back.

The same guy who worked for GW during the 2000 presidential primaries is now working for McCain. The same guy who asked South Carolinians "If you found out McCain fathered a black child would you vote for him". This tactic worked for George Bush. And now John McCain is using the same guy, Condon, to work on his campaign. John knows that this guy not only hurt his campaign, but his adapted daughter. What kind of morals does John have for using the same guy who hurt his daughter? None.

  3. Too Old

There's a video on youtube where John is so senile, he tries to shake Cindy Lou's hand, on the stage. She directs him to the podium. This man is too old to be president and once again we will be exposed to the likes of Karl Rove and men like him who couldn't care less about the Government or America.

    Wake up, vote for Barack.

when the democrats sent teams of lawyers, private investigators and other people to Alaska to (look into? dig up dirt!) on Governor Sarah Palin , they bring up the firing of as Alaska official for not firing a state trooper who by his own admission "made many mistakes" one of which was drinking on the job. the troopers boss refued to fire the trooper and some special counsel has been investigating if the governor was involved in the firing ???? Think of it . any American worth his salt would fire such a law enforcement office on the spot.
WE all know what the dems have been doing since Governor palin became the VP on the GOP ticket.. the Attacks on her have been personal and even so low as to include her baby with Down syndrome . and a teen who is pregnant . We wonder if they will dig up something about her Iraq bound Soldier son. they have now put Sarah's husband on the spot too !!! America wake up.. can you see what is happenning?

There you go again Palin— thinking that just picking a "woman" is sufficient for the future of this nation! How belittling can this be to women. Palin is so simple minded I cannot for the heck of it understand how anyone would think this woman is qualified to serve even as an effective Governor or Mayor!! If this is what America has really come down to, like Rome, this nation is likely to "fall."

Well, let us educate Palin and other bird-brain-minded supporters:
The difference between Obama and Hillary, is not because of policies (because they both had essentially the same policies), but the fact that Hillary is a "woman" and Obama is a "man." Unlike MCain the loser, Obama wanted to choose someone who would occasionally "disagree with him" on certain local issues (e.g., issues of abortion so dear to some idiots) as well as guide him through some complex issues that are not simply for the Democratic platforms!!! Now that would be "Change" that intelligent persons can believe in.

Solomon asked God for WISDOM, not wealth or emotional concerns. America should ask for INTELLIGENCE from her leaders, not idiots or ideological folks with limited agendas.

  10. SARAH AND SEXISM

Open Letter to Sarah Palin “Powlenty”:

Since the members of the Republican party are constantly accusing the Democrats of being sexist. This poor 57 year old white male left wing-nut, just needs a few updates on the Republican definition of sexism, since I am angry and stupid would you mind if for my record keeping, we called it Republican Sexism Rules V1.01 just so I can separate it from wing-nut V1.00?

So, if I were to make a statement such as:

Sarah, “Show us the smile that won you the Miss Congeniality title in the Miss Wailla Contest” that would not be sexist because it is a fact that you were indeed Miss Congeniality. However, Republicans find such factual statements to be sexist, according to your new BFF, Carly.

If a Democrat where to state that the Republican failed policies were described as “lipstick on a pig”. So, unless women are called policies now, I fail to see the sexism.

Now, bear with me, I am slow. It may take me a time or two to get the hang of the new Republican version of sexism. Here are a few of the Republican examples I have recently observed.

    1. John McCain described Hillary Clinton’s policies as “lipstick on a pig”.

    2. Rush Limbaugh when making the announcement of your selection, said that there was now a “BABE” on the ticket.

    3. Pat Buchanan on MSNBC described you as a “GIRL”.

    4. Newt Gingrich listed “BEAUTY” as one of your qualifications for VP on Fox News.

    5. McCain after reading your name from what appeared to be a note card, was seen apparently perusing your "resume" when introducing you to the American public.

    6. There was a Republican issued, therefore sanctioned, photo of you, Laura Bush and Cindy McCain all in a nice quiet relaxed setting, so nothing would bother your "PRETTY LITTLE HEADS", I am fine with that, but since the other two were spouses, should there not have been a set of testes in your chair by the name of Todd, while you were out discussing rifles with Dick?

    So, to recap, Sarah:

Would you please send me a photo of you in the swim suit competition taken during the Miss Wailla contest? See, there I go again. That is actually a factual statement. I warned you these new Republican sexist definitions were going to confuse me. So, perhaps you should just sign it, ’BABE’.

Just curious...who is watching her children...and no, I do not mean that in a sexist way but she does not strike me as the loving doting mom she portrays herself to be. If you watch the video of her returning to Alaska you will notice she does not even pick up her newborn child upon seeing him...speaking from a mothers point of view, my infant would have been the first person I hugged.

.... anything to take people's minds off "trooper-gate" and her promise to cooperate! She's already well-trained in "cover-up" and "you can't haul me into court" Republican experience ... next it will be either "I can't recall" or "mistakes were made" .... or maybe "bring it on!"

So if her husband goes with her ( it seems she can't leave him alone; He is becomming sort of the VPP), who is then taking care of the children? Enough hipocresy!! trying to sell us the perfect family with perfect values. I haven't seen Bidens' wife everywhere with him. It seems to me that Palin seems insecure and totally lacks the convincement to be president.

When are they going to send her ought on her own. Guess the Mccain camp hasnt given her enough her enough notes to study yet. She needs to go on the View so they can rip her apart like they did John. So she has to have Todd along this dont to look to Good for John, he will have to quit looking and behave him self.

Ok.....are her young children on the plane? I saw that when she landed her children were already in Alaska.

We'll see if the novelty's worn off or if people have bothered to pay attention at all to what the real story is.

Palin noted that she has been criticized for governing a sparsely populated state, but, she said, “thank you God for that, because we’re small enough to be family.”

I love this quote by Gov. Palin, this has to be one of the best quotes of the election. It really lifted my spirits. I am a business man and I wish I could openly support McCain and Palin but a good business man keeps business first. No, I can not wear her caps or hang a sign in my yard but I can wish her luck. Gov. Palin you are fantastic.

I believe everyone here wants to know ALL the truth..not just bits

So here are a few questions Ms Palin before the election:

    1. Since you were pregnant and you started to leak fluid, during a
speech in Texas, you chose to finish your speech and then fly for
11 hours back to Alaska. And then drive for 45 minutes to a hospital
in a small town to have a baby with health problems.

How so?...you would think that you would want the best care possible
for yourself and the baby at a large city to handle your needs.

    2. I read in your newspaper that you gave birth to a 6lb 2oz baby boy.
Which you have told us that he was born 4 weeks premature.

Does a premature baby not weigh less if premature?..just asking.
Did you transport yourself and baby to a neo-natal unit because he was premature?..No because you were back to work 3 days after giving birth. THAT'S ODD

3.Why are all the family pictures taken off the govt and other websites?

Are there things there you don't want us to see?...Too late we've already seen them.

    4. It's odd that the only baby's parents name that was born in the hospital on that day was definitely NOT Palin. Newspapers are printed

Looks like the MSM hasn't the gazoo's to check on these questions because the Repub will call it "sexist"

    HERE'S MY TAKE ON IT....

You got a phone call when in Texas that Bristol was going into labor, so you booted it for home to make a good coverup.

Either there are going to be a lot of people perjure themselves, either way you and McWar are in a whole pile of hurt.

WAIT FOR IT.....NATIONAL ENQUIRE IS DOING MSM'S HOMEWORK

This campaign has become so standard--no issues, just a lot of BS tossed about. Sad that people are buying it.
