Palin leaves Alaska, heads back to the trail

Palin and her husband Todd appeared in Alaska Saturday.
Palin and her husband Todd appeared in Alaska Saturday.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (CNN) – Sarah Palin’s most recent visit to Alaska may have been her last – at least until Election Day.

At a rally in Anchorage on Saturday morning, there was a wistful note in Palin’s voice as she spoke about the coming weeks of campaigning.

Her speech came after spending two days in her home state doing an interview with ABC News and seeing her eldest son off to Iraq. Palin spent two nights at her home in Wasilla overlooking Lake Lucille.

“We've got a little travel planned for the next 52 days,” Palin said, “but I'll be home come November and I would like to bring along my friend - our friend Senator John McCain as the President-elect.”

The governor said she will take comfort in having her husband Todd at her side throughout the campaign. And she promised to keep Alaska in mind while on the road.

Palin noted that she has been criticized for governing a sparsely populated state, but, she said, “thank you God for that, because we’re small enough to be family.”

“So Alaska, the lessons you have taught me in these years of service as a mayor and as a commissioner and then as a governor, I thank you for what you have instilled in me,” she said. “There is no better place to come from than Alaska.”

At the airport before departing for a campaign stop in Reno, Nevada, Palin hugged family members goodbye on the tarmac and waved to television cameras before taking off.

Poor old McBush needs her back on the campaign trail with him to prop him up........The old curmudgen needs all the help he can get. Of course with both of them lying every time they open their mouths, it should be fun to see them self-destruct!

After her dismal performance in her only interview, watch the GOP slap the training wheels back on the bike & only trot her out for her canned speech. She's gonna be totally inaccessable for the duration.

She has health insurance and a job that will pay her while she runs around the country for 52 days. Her pregnant daughter is still a minor so her insurance will take care of the delivery. She has so little to worry abou tshe doesn't need to take a second job to care for her children's needs so she might as well leave her home for 52 days because she has no doubt that she is perfect and has a perfect life.

Blah blah. So off she goes back on the trail in her attempt to give America eight more years of one scandal after another. Eight more years of crap.

Where is your baby? These are very important months of your babies life. I hope he is with you. Same with your other children. They should at least be with your husband if not with you. We were very Blessed we had six children ,but when I would work my husband was home with the children and when he worked I was home with the children. They were not with a Nanny or Sitter.

Ok, we have now seen Sara Palin in her first interview. We have learned that yes, she is quite personable, but guess what? She doesn't walk on water. Dems have our own first-rate VP candidate, Joe Biden- there is none better- and it is time we show as much enthusiastic support for him as the Republicans are showing for Palin. They don't care what criticizms are sent Palin's way, they support her. We need to do the same. When the Republicans make up smears and lies about our candidates we need to respond by getting even more loud and boisterous in our support.

So the REFORMER is going to STOP wastefule spending in Washington, does that include HERSELF & Family?(Check out The Washington Post Investigation on how she and her family BILLED the State THOUSANDS of dollares). He claimed Gov. Palin did not take Earmarks while Governor. That has been proven from her own Governor's Office to be not true. She got $259 million in Earmarks.

The Palin Family has behaved in such a dishonorable manner. It's so clear that the Governor's Office has been nothing but their PRIVATE BANK and TRAVEL AGENCY for them to splurge at the Taxpayers expense. He claimed Gov. Palin did not take Earmarks while Governor. That has been proven from her own Governor's Office to be not true. She got $259 million in Earmarks.

Sarah Palin should have lots of welcome from the citizens of Alaska because this year every citizen received $3,269 from the Permanent Fund Dividend and the stipend Palin gave them because of the price of gas. The Palin family of seven received $22,883.

Why can't Sarah Palin take the time for a real "goodbye" to her son when he leaves for Iraq at the end of the month?

Who is taking care of the children – especially the baby who needs special care? Why is husband Todd along for the ride? Can't she campaign without him ? Why can't he stay home and take care of the children?

Palin just sends me and so, so many of my female friends over the edge. What a blight she is to all the women, including myself, who fought for equal rights, pro choice, equal pay and the opportunities for all our children to have a better world. She is a step back not forward.

I miss Hillary. I'm sick of this woman. Hillary shows strength,
compa s sion, cla s s and grace. Sorry, I don't see any of those qualities in this lady. I certainly don't want her anywhere near The White House.

Is the maternal bond no longer important in American society? Who is watching the children? It is a lack of attention why her daughter ended up in her situation. Her family is in crisis and she's heading on the "trail." Wow! How about family first, then country second.
