Palin: Obama probably wishes he'd picked Clinton as VP

Palin said Friday she thought Obama was probably having second thoughts on his VP pick.
Palin said Friday she thought Obama was probably having second thoughts on his VP pick.

(CNN) - Sarah Palin said Barack Obama could be wishing he had asked Hillary Clinton to join him on the Democratic presidential ticket.

"I think he's regretting not picking her now, I do," the Republican VP nominee told Charles Gibson of ABC News. "What determination and grit and even grace through some tough shots that were fired her way. She handled those well."

Watch: Palin says Obama regrets not picking Clinton

Palin herself has said that Hillary Clinton had been “whining” about sexism during the primary season. "When I hear a statement like that coming from a woman candidate with any kind of perceived whine about that excess criticism, or maybe a sharper microscope put on her, I think, 'Man, that doesn't do us any good, women in politics, or women in general, trying to progress in this country,' " she said at a media forum earlier this year.

But when the Alaska governor first hit the trail after being named John McCain’s running mate, she made remarks at campaign events praising the New York senator, though she stopped making the comments after drawing consistently negative reactions from GOP crowds.

Clinton herself has largely avoided discussing Palin publicly since the governor's selection as McCain's VP.

FYI People: If Obama HAD picked Hillary to be his running mate, McCain would NOT have picked Palin. I think that is a definite truth.
The two candidates should be forced to pick their running mates on the same day, so one decision doesn't influence another.
Joe Biden was a great choice and we'll see that more and more I think as the election gets closer.

Palin is just using Hillary's name to get her voters. Palin is no Hillary Clinton. Clinton has earned respect from the American public. Palin was not vetted, and was picked on a whim by McCain.

I am tired of being lied to, and manipulated by fear tactics about the war on Terror. While I respect McCains time as a POW, I'm also sick and tired of the way he is exploiting it. With all due respect Mr. McCain, being a POW does not make you qualified to be president.

The Republicans are so happy about Palin because they are so unhappy and unenthusiastic about McCain. It appears that anything in a skirt makes the Republicans happy about their ticket.

America has lost her place in the world. They hate us. And its because of the Republican Doctrine of Hate and Selfishness.

We need honesty, respect, diplomacy, and intelligence in the White House. McCain/Palin is none of those things.

I am an independent voter. I voted for George Bush both terms. And I voted for his Father. I believe very strongly that we need to have a Democrat in the White House now. McCain will be the worst of Bush's failed policies.

The republicans aren't the only ones who believe in God and Jesus Christ. As a Christain, I am deeply offended at McCains and Palins negative and down right nasty attacks.

Amercia the Beautiful you deserve better than McCain/Palin.

Blaaa-Blaaa-Blaaa... This presidential campaign has become an exercise in affirmitive action. The American public should be focusing
in executive experience in public policy, period. All this other stuff about
race and gender is not relevant. My opinion basically is that Obama is not qualified because of LACK of experience, period! He is truly a media product and a figure of romanticism. Yes, he talks a great game but the stakes are too great to gamble on someone with a "silver tongue" and based on the myth of having been raised as "a poor black child". The country is risking much with his ego to take the
chance on his lack of experience, period !

Many of us warned that if Obama didn't pick Hillary as his VP he'd have a hard time winning. He chose Biden instead, certainly a decent man, but rather dull and low key. Palin has overshadowed Biden and brought a great boost to the McCain campaign. She's energetic, astute, speaks well, and has fire in her belly. Hillary would have been able to give Palin a run for her money and we'd probably be looking at an Obama-Clinton administration come January. I don't see Obama winning. He had it within reach but rejected Hillary out of sheer stupidity and that will cost him.

Even if Obama had picked Clinton–and I think it was the smart move not to–he wouldn't have been doing it just to court women voters. McCain and the GOP seriously think that adding a woman to the ticket (a woman who is incredibly misinformed about some things and uninformed on others) will magically bring the female vote to their feet. I believe most women are a little smarter than that.

No, Obama doesn't regret picking Clinton... Why should he? Based on his criteria for vice president (which was based on qualifications, experience, and personality), he and his staff realized that she was not the best choice.. Now, ask yourself, Sarah Palin supporters.. Did John McCain pick Sarah McCain for the good of the our STRUGGLING country or simply to DUPE the public using gender and her family circumstances to vote for him?? I pity ANYONE who tells me that Sarah Palin is the most qualified candiate he could have picked.

Who better to know about Obama's VP pick and what he is thinking, than a person who, herself, has no credibilty and up until two weeks ago, knew relatively little about whether she originally supported the "Bridge to Nowhere," before she opposed it when the Congress abandoned it. Right now, I think Johnny Mack ought to sit her down and let her know what the Republican patform is. (actually, I think it would be good if he made all of us aware of it) As of yet, McCain/Palin have made this campaign about their images and nothing of substance.

I known that Gov. Sarah Palin is not the person that should even running the the VP spot because she get her way regardless of whom it harms. Sarah will destroy the congress and the political parties. Sarah feels that she is for women control; no regard for the right of other that is not her race, taxes on the 95% of Americans whom seek relief, the medical advancement of progress. Sara comes to the national scene to attack the watch-dog media, republicans and dems, Obama, Hillary, Joe Biden. Sarah has a pound of mud in her panties yet if one criticize her white women get mad a Obama as playing the rules unfairly while she and McCain lied to the public and matter what racist Whites would rather screw themselves rather vote a qualified black man to office. This is America?

  22. OBAMA GET'S IT!

Well now ain't that something, just another example of how hypocritial those Republicans are, when Hillary was complainng Georgweenia called her a whiner, but no more than two days after Georgweenia was presented as McSahme's running mate they complained of SEXISM about something that most of us can't even remember what about, it did not stick. Now that Obama has used a well known term about lipstick, one that McShame himself has used in referring to Hillary we hear the cry of SEXISM once again, well which is it how you gonna play it Miss Georgweenia.

Instead of focusing on lipstick comments what we all need to recognize is GEORGWEENIA is a dangerous mind in that she is even more like George W.Bush than McShame is only in female form, if you listened to her suggesting that we may very well go to WAR with RUSSIA if they continue to fight against Georgia, well she and McShame may very well be Georgians the rest of us ARE NOT and neither one of them need to think that they can SPEAK FOR ANYBODY!

She is doing all that she can to protray herself as a tough and ready lady, but she is coming off as a possible bully to mos to America and so imagine who the rest of the world thought of her interview! Just another George Bush that the world is trying to rid themselves of.

I FIND IT INTERESTING THAT PALIN'S INTERVIEW WITH CHARLEY GIBSON, WAS SO 'NEGATIVE AND DEFENSE' – ALMOST AS IF, PALIN HERSELF, REALIZES SHE DOES NOT BELONG WHERE SHE IS...

AND HERE, STUPID AMERICANS, WILL STILL VOTE FOR HIM...

HA, THE JOKE WILL BE ON YOU, THEN!

The way Palin has a media shield around her is proof that she's not a leader, but a Paris Hilton like figurehead that will have others behind the scenes govern for her and tell her what to say.
