Palin: Obama probably wishes he'd picked Clinton as VP

Palin said Friday she thought Obama was probably having second thoughts on his VP pick.
Palin said Friday she thought Obama was probably having second thoughts on his VP pick.

(CNN) - Sarah Palin said Barack Obama could be wishing he had asked Hillary Clinton to join him on the Democratic presidential ticket.

"I think he's regretting not picking her now, I do," the Republican VP nominee told Charles Gibson of ABC News. "What determination and grit and even grace through some tough shots that were fired her way. She handled those well."

Watch: Palin says Obama regrets not picking Clinton

Palin herself has said that Hillary Clinton had been “whining” about sexism during the primary season. "When I hear a statement like that coming from a woman candidate with any kind of perceived whine about that excess criticism, or maybe a sharper microscope put on her, I think, 'Man, that doesn't do us any good, women in politics, or women in general, trying to progress in this country,' " she said at a media forum earlier this year.

But when the Alaska governor first hit the trail after being named John McCain’s running mate, she made remarks at campaign events praising the New York senator, though she stopped making the comments after drawing consistently negative reactions from GOP crowds.

Clinton herself has largely avoided discussing Palin publicly since the governor's selection as McCain's VP.

As Plagiarist-Joe biden said recently: "Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America." "Quite frankly (Hillary) might have been a better pick than me."

Yep, the best man for Vice President is a woman.

But tens of millions of Americans already know that! The proof is in the ever increasing lead of The Real Americans Team of McCain-Palin in all polls.

Two faced comes to mind on this. Just a short time ago you said Hillary was a whiner and now you want to suck up to her supporters. All because McCain is using you as a gimmick for the election. Stick to what you know Palin. Moose hunting, killing wolves by airplane, banning books and firing your enemies at work.
In another month when all the dirt is coming out and your in serious trouble back in Alaska for abuse of power. I think it will be Mccain who will be wishing he had chose differently.

Obama demeaned and debased Hillary. And that's why Hillary is putting out no real effort to help him. Dem. audiences and Obama have begged her to attack Sarah Palin but she refused. She's giving a half hearted effort, just enough to be sure the Dems. will support her run in 12'.

    Sarah Palin 12 & 16'

CLINTON IS A GOOD PERSON AND SO IS BIDEN. IF YOU WANT FREEDOM AND LOVE YOUR COUNTRY YOU WILL VOTE FOR CHANGE TO HELP THIS COUNTRY. A PERSON THAT VOTES 90% OF THE TIME WITH BUSH WILL NOT CHANGE BASED ON HIS PREVIOUS RECORD.

LOVE FOR FREEDOM AND COUNTRY VOTE OBAMA 08

Gosh Sarah, is there anyone else you would like to speak for while you are in that mind reader mode?

Honestly, how arrogant is that? Let me tell you what someone else thinks, regrets, wishes he/she had done?

I think Sarah needs to use her mind reader skills and find some truthfullness buried deep within herself BEFORE she shares her thoughts on what anyone else thinks!

That's one thing I agree with Palin about, Obama screwed up by not picking Hillary Clinton to be his VP. He may end up losing now.

Even Biden said Hillary would have made a better VP than him. It seems everyone who is smart enaough knows this.

Perhaps Biden should step aside, this way, Obama would be open to bring Hillary in on the ticket.

    Obama/Clinton 08!!!

Palin is an idiot! She has about as much experience to run the Country as I do. I was stationed in Alaska with USAF so that means I have as much foreign policy exposure as she does.
Let's see how she does in debates with Biden. And why is she not having more encounters with the news as she did with Charlie Gibson. This time she may , just may, know what the "Bush Doctrine" is. Anyone who was against the Iraq war knows.
Palin is just another prettty face....no substance....PERIOD!!!!!!!

  12. obamaticians doth come!

If I were Palin, I would mind my business about Obama's choice of VP. Her joint ticket with McCain has not won the race yet. Palin should not be too excited. Because come November, America will talk.

  13. Tired of speculation!

    Geeze!

This is the mind games they are trying to play. Everyone can figure out Palin was picked because Clinton was not. If HRC was, then McCain would have picked someone else and they would be barking that Clinton was a bad choice!

    DUH!

Come on, cant we talk about issues!?

I think little ms.Sarah Palin needs to stick to examining her own choices and leave Mr.Obama alone. She better be dang glad that Hillary is not running with Obama. Mr. Biden is still caught up in the "gentleman should not treat a lady that way" philosophy so he holds back for fear of offending and Hillary would not be bound by the 50's rule of a gentleman's code of conduct.
you take care of you, Sarah and we will take care of changing Washington

  15. Palin's Conscience

No, Sarah. McCain probably regrets picking you. Since the pick was made public, the McCain camp has had to defend your actions time and again, going so far as to outright lie and back up the lies you told and are telling. Unfortunately, he still doesn't understand that the internet makes "lie busting" as simple as a google search. If I were him, I'd dump you like a hot potatoe! You are definitely not doing women any good. If you're the best woman the republican party has to put forth for VP, I understand why it has never happened before. Frankly, if you're the best, I can see why it will never happen again. Nice job setting up John for the women of The View!!

OBTW, Iran can have all the nucular weapons they want. We'll make sure they don't get their hands on a single nuclear weapon! How's Russia "looking" today? You know, you can see Russia from Alaska. That's great foreign policy experience. McBush, you sure can pick 'em!

I thank McCain for his service. However, that does not mean I want YOUR son or daughter to die in an unnecessary war that could have been avoided with diplomacy. Afghanistan was necessary. Iraq was not. The most important decision in McCain’s career was to vote for the war on Iraq or not. He failed miserably by voting for it. McCain and Palin are already talking about going to war with Russia. If they are elected, they are certain to take the same approach they supported with Bush which is to shoot first and verify if you shot the right person later. It will be certain death for the United States. We are spread thin in Iraq, the Taliban are still loose, and Russia is gearing up for us along with Iran... If McCain and Palin are elected, I am leaving the United States for India. I will be safer there.

McCain FAILED his country when he appointed Sarah Palin. I pray for this country when she sends us to war against Russia, Iran, and the Taliban at the same time. We cannot fight Russia with spy planes. In this future war, American civilians will die. Not just soldiers.

She is just trying to stir the pot and agitate the Democrats. Obama is quite happy with Biden. Perhaps, she and McCain both regret her being on his ticket.

  20. what can I say

No, seriously, are you (CNN online) going to let the Palin interview slide...just like that; without a single comment?

That was a disaster greater than Ike, and you are letting it just...

You wouldn't hire this woman to teach the alphabet to your child after this, and you don't even mention it. What a shame.
At least, say it was a triumph, that'll represent you better.
No wonder things are the way they are in this world. Don't look around pointing fingers, look in the mirror.

a potential VP or President does not know if McCain wins God forbids it, the incumbent President's foreign policy doctrine? US needs to maintain its position in the world stage.

She's absolutely right! Obama is kicking himself now for not picking Clinton. He is way too into himself and thought he didn't need her after 20,000 people on Germany came to see him (in which by the way, there was a concert simultaneously there too that most cable networks did not report). Now all the sudden, Bill Clinton is the person he look up to, and Hillary Clinton is his friend. PATHETIC

The GOP thinks they have found their saving grace for this election. I can't wait for the debates. She won't be able to hide behind the same 5 talking points she has been trained to repeat over and over again. Biden will wipe the floor with her. My father is a small town mayor of a town of 25,000 people in Illinois. He laughs about the Palin claims of "executive experience." There are a lot of responsibilities as Mayor, but it is hardly prepares you to lead the free world. She will be exposed in the weeks to come. She already has numerous BIPARTISAN scandals. How much change can she bring? Don't be fooled by the "Disney" appearance. She is Bush, Rove, Falwell and Cheney combined, with one small difference- a vagina.
