Palin: Obama probably wishes he'd picked Clinton as VP

Palin said Friday she thought Obama was probably having second thoughts on his VP pick.

Palin said Friday she thought Obama was probably having second thoughts on his VP pick.

(CNN) - Sarah Palin said Barack Obama could be wishing he had asked Hillary Clinton to join him on the Democratic presidential ticket.

"I think he's regretting not picking her now, I do," the Republican VP nominee told Charles Gibson of ABC News. "What determination and grit and even grace through some tough shots that were fired her way. She handled those well."

Watch: Palin says Obama regrets not picking Clinton

Palin herself has said that Hillary Clinton had been “whining” about sexism during the primary season. "When I hear a statement like that coming from a woman candidate with any kind of perceived whine about that excess criticism, or maybe a sharper microscope put on her, I think, 'Man, that doesn't do us any good, women in politics, or women in general, trying to progress in this country,' " she said at a media forum earlier this year.

But when the Alaska governor first hit the trail after being named John McCain’s running mate, she made remarks at campaign events praising the New York senator, though she stopped making the comments after drawing consistently negative reactions from GOP crowds.

Clinton herself has largely avoided discussing Palin publicly since the governor's selection as McCain's VP.

I think we need to remember WHY we have been screaming for change from the Bush policies. Obama is accused of being inexperienced. Keep in mind that Bush supposedly had experience and look what we got. I believe that it is more important to have the intelligence to get the best advisors and to lead the country out of the disasters of the Bush administration. McCain has said proudly that he voted 90% of the time with Bush. Doesn't that bother anyone? Do you want more of Bush? Are you better off now after Bush's 8 years?
More and more people are losing their health insurance. More and more are losing their jobs and their homes.Banks are shutting down, and we have a loss of respect from our allies . Think Katrina! 5 days on a rooftop waiting for help. Heck of a job Brownie!
The many many soldiers who were killed because Bush lied us into an unprovoked war and many without their limbs and being rationed by our government on the care they get. We have more and more homeless vets and their families. Republicans vote down benefits for the vets. They were sent over there without the proper equipment and were told they had to buy their own bullet proof vests. Suicide deaths are at an all time high Have you heard of any improvenments to Walter Reed? Do the vets still have to wait months and some years to get medical care? Do they still have vets waiting in a wheel chair for months and the hospital does not even know they are there?
Do you still want the administration using the "executive privilege" to cover their secretive sneaky unlawful deeds? Isn't it strange that this Iraq war is suddenly winnable and the gas prices are coming down? Do you think the election has something to do with it? Think of your children's future.

It's probably true that Clinton refused to act as BO's VP nominee. She already said publicly that he is not fit to be president and she didn't want to spoil her chances of being president one day, herself.

  3. Palin has more experience than Obama

If Obama is about change in DC why is his VP pick someone that has been there over almost 40 years????? That is real change.

He could have picked Hillary and than that would have been some change.

Has Palin now become a mind reader too?

She's a lot of hot air and no real substance. She's identical to Bush. She didn't even know what the Bush Doctrine was!!!!

Has she been alive these last few years??

Sure isnt going to to do you no good slamming Hillary, she is twice the woman you are. Hillary and Bill will help put the democrats in the white house. You wont even be able to go out in public after the trooper deal. America is learning fast what kind of person you are and you think just cause John can slam and attack Obama you can to. Just remember it will be a task of god to not let you two win this election.

I don't believe you need to be talking and thinking for Obama. I'm sure he has good plans in the future for Hillary and who knows if she even wanted Vice?

Stop injecting your views for what Obama thinks and doesn't think?

  16. Perhaps Hillary said no to VP offer

How do we know that Barack Obama never asked Hillary Clinton to be his VP and was turned down?

Joe Biden is an excellent choice and is a true gentleman and a leader.

Caribou Barbie, you're no Hillary Clinton, and you never will be. And if any whining's being done, it's by your campaign; your team is trying to make up for and distract from your lack of knowledge on foreign affairs, the economy, and everything else of vital importance this election year.

By the way, nice interview with Gibson the other day. If you don't want to be knowledgeable of anything else, it might behoove you to at least know what the Bush doctrine is (you know, Bush, the president, member of your own political party). Get a clue.

Do you think Palin realizes that if Obama had picked Clinton, Palin would still be an unknown in Alaska? I doubt it, she and she alone seems to have a pretty high regard for herself. At least she will be going back to Alaska permanently in November!
