Everyone thinks foreign owned banks are going to step in & save us from this financial crisis...I don't believe they will until after the election. If we are stupid enough to elect McCain-Palin, they'll all be happy to just watch us implode or starve. Survival of the fittest, and let the oil junkies kill themselves.

to my fellow americans, this is the most important election in our lives everything is on the verge of collasping. economy, housing, wall street, gas prices, and wall street, the value of the dollar. and you you have two intelligent men (obama, biden) and then you have two intellectually challenged people mccain 894 of 899 and sarah palin 5 colleges in six years just to get a bachelors degree. and people actually think they know what they are doing. they do not have a clue. we understand that the white americans are the majority and it is basically up to them to decide who the president is going to be and i understand that. but to let the mccain/palin ticket win (or be winning) on just lies and smear is a sad day for america. no other president of harvard law review has ever been president. the highest qualification of office should be morale character and judgement. if mccain/palin win america loses. the writing is on the wall look at all the protesters in alaska people who really know (the real) sarah palin. it seems like she is an anti- christ. and people are swooning all over her, for what? because she can lie and lie and lie. some people think she looks attractive on the outside. how do you think she looks on the inside (from what i have seen and read and gaging from the people that really know her) it is not pretty at all. and john mccain the adulterer ( how can any christian right or left wing who honestly believes in christ can cast a vote for him is only fooling themselves. all empires eventually collapse and america will suffer the same fate. we will be consumed by our own hatred. we cannot continue down this road to destruction. before you cast your vote think. what would jesus do?

The press are picking McCain and Palin apart, but thats a good thing. Exposing the lies, deceit, corruption, and the Bush policy. With Lehman Bros, AIG, Merrill Lynch, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and regional banks going under; yet people want to vote another term for the Bush/Chaney/McCain/Palin/Rove/Nixon ticket? Didn't we learn from 1974? Neo-Con's can't be trusted. Who fixed the economy every time it goes bad? Democrats. What party rescued us from a Great Depression and two world wars? The Democrats. Who's party puts us in big deficit spending, curtails civil rights, always the center of scandal and corrption, and always fools American's? The Republican Party. WAKE UP AMERICA. These jokers and posers have had long enough to screw up our country. KICK THE BUMS OUT! Lets us begin "The Great Republican Purge of 2008." November 4th, the day that the GOP dies as a party!

Come on people, get your facts straight before you go bashing anyone. Gov Palin did not request earmarks herself, they came from universities that are working to better the way fishing and stuff is done up there so we don't over fish/crab. And it is done in full view, not behind some closed doors in a shady, smoke filled back room. Earmarks are part of running congress and budgets. All I have to say is if Obama gets elected, hold on to yuor wallets if you make more than 30k a year, then you are rich in his eyes and you will be taxed to death. All politics is dirty, there are no saints here on either side.

This is so funny. I watched the show that day and I laughed, because they thought it was going to be easy. Little did they know, because for some reason they feel like they are not supposed to be questioned on anything. It's like this if they can throw a punch then they should be able to take a punch. We just getting started wait to after the debates. Now if Sarah wants to go on a show besides Oprah, she could go on the view.

Cry me a river stepford wife! "How dare they ask us real questions about real issues facing this campaign. Were you aware that Barack Obama wants to teach kindergarteners how to have sex? I can't believe you would ask us about substantive, fact based inconsistencies in our campaign". Cindy is right. Get back to the mudslinging garbage that was so effective for POW John. It's a sad day in America when the toughest questions a candidate faces come on "The View". Good work ladies... I never thought I would say that.

Finally people who pay attention to the facts, I have been so angry listening to lies being told by Palin . I have worked for 50 years in a management position.. was PTA President,.. girl scout leader,
cub scout mother....., Home Room mother for each of my 4 children,....volunteered numerous hours a year....
worked beside a staff during a terrible strike for 7 months and was responsible to bring the 2 groups together in a cohesive work environment. and I was very successful..I had a special child born with a birth defect who required extra care and I gave it alone..{who has graduated magna cum laude from college and law school } I could go on about my accomplishments...but the point I'am trying to make is I don't think I am qualified to be V.P and neither is Palin.. She reminds me of a high school age show off .
One other thing I don't understand... why does her husband attend all governors meetings and has all e-mails and letters copied to him.?
I agree let's check some of McCain's claims on the View:

guys should see Jon Stewart clips on Gender Card. It was an excellent clip on what McCain campaign and the Republicans are about. Like the lady on SNL said, "mainstream media" needs to borrow the "pair" from the girl who played Hillary Clinton and ask questions on issues and not roll on the farm animal crap

Yeah, blame all on Obama, for not accepting your so-called townhall-meeting proposal. When you run out of honest argument to present to the American people on why you think you should be president, it is only logical that you resort to lying, hoping that it sells again; afterall, we've bought it before, maybe we are still dumb enough to buy it again. And, how can it be an affront on the electorate if they end up believing it for real? How I see it, the mother of all the lies, so far, has been how he is said to always put country first, and the claim of the word "maverick." How can you be a maverick, and be said to put country first with such a reckless pick for running mate? Some went along with the notion that he would "rather lose an election than lose a war," as he likes to say; but, certainly, he's betting again that the electorate does not have the brains to sought through all the lies. The talk of a "clean-picking" surprise on the View gets my sympathy for sure.

Wow, this should be called the CNN Liberal Ticker! Yeah, like the View is a well balanced news show. One conservative and a bunch of shout you down, low blow, blindsiding liberals. I guess McCain should be reprimanded for running such a "dirty" campaign, I mean with all of those fact filled respectable and civilized political ads the Dems are running each day, come on people!

It seems to me that the Mccain campaign and the Republican party has lost credibility and respect not only from the national media, but from many voters in this country. I mean think about it, the RNC was a complete joke, two chief republican strategists were caught on live tv (msnbc) expressing how "cynical" the Mccain campaign is, Mccain himself is attacking the media calling them bias, the VP candidate for the GOP is basically inexperience and hasn't done anything substantial during her time in politics, the republican campaign is linked to lobbyists, records show that Palin and Mccain have in fact recieved federal earmarks, and to top it all off, both of them have been caught lying to the national media and also the American people. If you are part of the republican party and you took a serious look at the electoral map, you shouldn't feel all that comfortable knowing that typical republican base states like North Carolina, Georgia, Missouri, Colorado, New Mexico, Lousiana and also Virginia could potentially turn blue.
White Independent voter for Obama/Biden 2008-2016
P.S.- The right change will indeed come to America!

Rolls his eyes....More fake outrage by the McCain directed towards the media. If they found the questioning tough because they are running a very closed, secretive, and dirty campaign. Every time someone calls the McCain camp to the floor on their distortion of facts they get all bent out of shape about it. Maybe he should stick to real issues instead of launching attacks every other day. It is kind of funny that they can't come up with anything positive to bring to the table so they steel other peoples ideas, like that of CHANGE!!!! Suddenly they are the reform party and the party of new ideas. But, there is only one person who has brought any new ideas to the political reality in Washington, and that is Barack Obama.

Poor Cindy shouldn't trust the polls... they are no more reliable than the vetting that was done on Palin. The balloon is leaking and beginning to fall. It won't be long before reality sets in .... no matter how you package them....it's the same Bush agenda....

1. TAX BREAKS FOR THE RICH
2. CONTINUE LOOKING FOR EVIL TO DEFEAT = MORE PRE-EMPTIVE WARS
3. LESS DIPLOMACY / MORE WAR
4. SUPPORT BIG OIL= DRILL,DRILL,DRILL!
5. APPOINT PRO-LIFE SUPREME COURT JUDGES (overturn Roe v Wade)
6. SUPPORT TORTURE (McCain was against it before he was for it)

We don't need to "reform" the Bush policies, WE NEED TO CHANGE THEM!

Well today is the 14th and all kinds of truths are coming out about the VP pick. I am just getting the news and just wait there will be more bad news that will hit the fan. We must turn out in larger that large to vote for the Obama ticket. I fear new reports are going to get worse if we don't support Obama now. We don't have a lot of time to play with what is happening in this election. You now see Sara is not what John McCain want you to believe. Were you paying attention to her interview and the answers she was giving that alone is frightening. John McCain is trying to make a fool of the American people and you guys that have not awaken to what is going on will get us in more trouble than we are in now if that is possible and believe me it is like voting for Bush all over again. I am afraid after learning the truth about the VP and knowing the truth about John McCain. It is so important to make a change from John McCain Bush to Obama and trust the change for the better and look forward to a change and a new beginning with new ideas, new everything for the better.

All you dems are afraid of how McCain is gaining on Obama. Obama should be winning big time in the polls, but he is not. I think people are beginning to see him as a money spending liberal big time.
Why should he tax people who work hard for there money and give it to some (not all) people who are just plain lazy. We have to pay for all these single woman just having baby after baby with many men who do not support there childred. It goes from generation to generation. My husband worked hard for what we have and why should we be taxed on investments that we have for our golden years. Yes, I consider myself lucky that my husband had a job that paid him very well. We put three children through college and never got any rebates and paid thousands of dollars in fedreal and state taxes. He paid the top amount of social security for years. We live in the NY NJ area which is not cheap to live with high taxes and insurance. We also pay our own health insurance which is very expensive. Why should Obama punish people like us for working hard. We are retired now but I feel sorry for our children who will be punished for trying to make a living and giving it up for Obama's special programs that he will need billions of dollars for. I agree we need something done about things like health insurance, immigration and keeping jobs here in USA, the things he is promising is crazy. I do not want the kind of health insurance Canada has, it is a nightmare, but something has to be done about hight premiums for health insurance. He wants every child to get a free college education. I know kids who worked very hard to put themselves through college and parents who sacraficed for education there children. My husband worked in steel mills in the summer to help his father pay for his college. Why do we have to pay for that. Also, why must we pay for all the immigrants health insurance and there elderly parents who they bring into this country and get social security as soon as they set foot in USA. That is one thing McCain or Obama would not discuss. They are all afraid of talking about it. Obama will cost us taxpayers big time if Obama is elected.

The view needs to be taken off the air. Nobody cares what those women think. They were rude, disrespectful and did their best to humiliate and embarras. This seems to be a repeating pattern with most if not all democratic interviews.. Everything they have to say about the McCains can also be said about Hussain Obama. Who gives a rip about how many homes they have anyway? Now lets see if CNN can handle an e-mail that isn't for Obama.

I thought McCain did a good job fending off the vipers at The View. Take the time to watch the entire segment. Really, do you think those nags are going to intimidate someone that survived REAL torture?

I can understand Mrs. McCain wanting to point out the treatment her husband received - Walters was rude. Tough questions are okay, but not allowing the man to answer is rude. Did they allow Obama to answer his questions...with all his uhhs and ahhs?

That slavery question posed by Whoopie was ridiculous and offensive. I suggest you CNN sheep learn a little history...the Republican Party was founded in 1854 by anti-slavery activists and has always supported equality.

Your inability to recognize how the back room Democrats push your 'anger' buttons is sad. Just read what you've all written above...pathetic and predictable. Develop an original thought - repeating buzz words like Rove, Halliburton, same, Bush third term, and seven houses (when did success become bad? - your Hollywood gods are wealthy) leads me to believe you can't articulate your thoughts outside of the narrow parameters of your mantra. Really, if anyone marches in lock step - it's your side.

Max... "FALSE"? "False" somewhat sounds like there was no intention behind those misleading statements. Let's call them straight by its name: "LIES". I don't know what's on US TV (I live in Canada), but I hope DEM are making TV ads, calling every single McCain "false" statement "A LIE" and air them all over the US until the day of the election, since apparently US medias are not making headline containing "Lies" and "McCaiin" in the same sentence. It's a shame. Let the people really know McCain by his real name: "Lier".

By the way, we Canadians have universal health insurance run by each provincial (i.e. state) government, but we have full freedom to decide which doctors we go see. Another lie by McCain. No one in Canada loses his/her house because of high medical bills.

What to you expect, Ms. McCain? You are certainly smart enough to see the truth.

Today, during one of the Sunday morning news talk shows, a noticed a political commercial that I initially thought was an Obama commercial because it included John McCain extolling Sarah Palin’s saying no thanks to Congress for the “bridge to nowhere.” I thought this was an Obama commercial because the bridge to nowhere story has long since been emphatically proven to be a monumental exaggeration (Palin was for the bridge when running for governor, then against it after it had been ridiculed as pork and Congress had rejected it. And in the end, she arranged for Alaska to keep the pork anyway). But it was a McCain commercial, still using that tired line.

Then it hit me. The truth doesn’t matter. The McCain campaign, like the Bush campaign before it, is appealing to the yes/no voter who thinks every problem has a simple answer, and if we are sufficiently macho as a country everyone will fear us and fall in line. We just have to “kick their butts” and our enemies will see it our way. Well, that approach has clearly been debunked by the Iraq debacle, and now the McCain team thinks saber-rattling with Russia will have a positive result. These are extraordinarily complex problems, their solutions do not lend themselves to one-word answers, and they are way too complex for Ms. Palin to describe, much less to deal with in office.

So, you folks have earned the hard questions. You are truly dangerous for the country.

I'm shame for the McCains! I'm a registered Republican from the state of Idaho. But I can not go on with circus of Bush's base any longer.
Such a nice photo of Ms Cindy How-Many-House-Do-We-Own McCain. This truly shows the rationally of what the right wing will bring to the White House as First Lady (Yuk!) – should make this photo the “Poster Child” for the GOP since they don’t want to be called the Republican Party any more. Let’s get on with the issues Cindy! Obama will be the winner in both the debuts and the election. This election will put the Republican Revolution of '94 to rest finally.

This is hilarious. It was one of the best shows of "The View" that I have ever seen. I was afraid that with Partisan Elisabeth that it would be another snoozer. The ladies were absolutely honest and asked the questions we all wanted answers to. And by the way the McCain's have 9 houses not 7. No wonder they lose count. Like Whoopie said, the strict enforcement of the constitution would put some of us back into slavery. The rights of women in Roe v. Wade would be overturned. So for all of you supposed Hillary Supporters who are playing a game, you had better wake up before McSame and McPalin turn back the clocks of history pertaining to the rights of women. John McCain had to know that he would someday have to answer for his smear campaign against Barack Obama while protecting Sarah Palin under some amendment I missed out on that obviously has to do with the rights of a vice presidential candidate to not be exposed to the american public if that candidate happens to be a woman.

Cindy should stop complaining and give some advice to her husband. A man with a career built on service and integrity has decided that it is worth losing all that in order to win a political campaign, and therefore, is running the dirtiest and most dishonest campaign in history. Alas, it appears that voters in the world's greatest democracy are willing to buy his lies.

For the past several weeks (and months), I have been entertained by the best television in TV history - the American presidential election race. However, my amusement is starting to turn to anger and worry as I watch the insanity starting to grow south of our border. I cannot believe that there appears to be so many idiots prepared to back such a right wing 'barracuda' as Sarah Palin! I find it almost frightening that there is even a chance that Palin could become president (should the republicans get back in and something happen to McCain). I fear for your country and for ours as well should that happen. It's time for the Obama campaign to produce some fierce ads that shock the American public out of their lunacy. Forget turning the other cheek and playing fair. The stakes are MUCH too high!!

McCain beat out Romney by repeating the same 'proven lie' over and over (see their last debate) until it stuck. He's lied about Palin selling the jet for a profit. He's distorted Obama sound-bytes for negative ads. He recrutied Palin, who has lied about......well, it would be quicker to list what she hasn't lied about.
It makes it hard to believe that he's half the war hero he says he is. It makes it hard to discount reports that he started the USS Forrestal fire that killed 136 sailors, with juvenile antics (wet-starts).
How can anyone believe anything coming out of the McCain-Palin campaign???
I've been waiting for someone to come forth with the plums to say it to his face. Thank-you Barbara Walters, for providing those plums!!

McCain has been finally called out for all his lies and negative distortion ads and you are upset? Maybe if your husband had not traded his integrity and character out of desperation to win, he would not find himself being properly held accountable by the media. No McCain and his joke of a VP choice near the White House! By you trying to defend your husband you make him look weaker than we already know he is. Go shopping and leave the politics to serious people. Obama is the only honest candidate with the character and integrity to run this country. His VP choice of Biden was outstanding. Together they bring strong credenitals and real and intelligent plans to fix this nation that your husband and Bush have destroyed these past 8 years. Unlike McCain and Palin, they are people of honor and will truly work to restore the quality of life for the rest of us. Even Karl Rove has called your husband a liar. Talk about bad press! Obama and Biden are our next leaders in the White House!

It's about time a journalist finally started actually *earning* a day's work with these candidates. Good job, Barbara!

McCain is going strong and people knows it. On the other hand, the democrats don't have much to say. It is time for strong leaders to take charge of this country. Barbara was asking about reforms, perhaps we should review the educational level, and its discipline. This is only one example of what needs to be reformed.

I watched the View and McCain got off easy. He got away with lies about Palin's record as well as his own. For example, he declared he hasn't changed his position on any issues which is a lie. He was AGAINST the Bush tax cuts but now he's for them. It's shameful the way John McCain has run his campaign.

McCain got what he deserved from the View It is about time that the Rape-publicans started answering some tough questions instead of circling the wagons to protect their "barbie doll" aka Sarah Palin who can't come up with an original thought of her own. Clearly, McCain either did not know or lied about some of the questiosn that were asked of him regarding his VP choice. "I will veto the first pork barrel spending bill that comes across my desk. I will make them famous and you will know them by their names". Well, the first name we should know about is Sarah Palin- $27 miliion for Wasilla a town with a population of about 5000 at the time Palin was mayor. Gee if my math is correct that amounts to about $5400 per person in federal earmark money.

I wish they had grilled him even harder about the nasty ads. He was supposed to run a clean campaign and now he's blaming Obama for not doing town hall meetings. So he gets what he deserves? Give us a break! How ridiculous - McCain can't even answer the question because he is probably so ashamed. I think the country respected him in 2000, but now he has sold out.

Lord help us if he wins.

Just check out the polls - seems the American people are waking up to who is the best team to lead our country - and it is NOT obama - in spite of the media pushing him on us.

Bills Clinton is a Rhodes Scholar - highly educated from both the US and also from Oxford. George bush had a degree from Yale - also educated. Barak Obama is highly educated from nation's top schools (Columbia and Harvard). Of course Joe Biden double majored in both history and political science complemented by a law degree from Syracuse University in NY. What do McCain and Palin have? Palin has a degree in journalism (from Idaho) from and McCain has a degree in aviation (I am not sure if it's a 1-yr flying certificate of a 2-yr community college education or a 4-year degree). How would these two (McCain and Palin) run a country with so many intellectuals? Are Americans thinking of that before voting for these people? Americans must stand up to save this great nation, its research and development and his heritage by electing only those educated ones who can understand the significance of innovation.

I am stunned to find out that McCain-Palin has over 30% votes.

Cheers.

I have never in my 40 years seen such a dishonorable campaign with so much complaining and playing the refs. Finally someone asks McCain exactly what everyone is thinking about his campaigns lies and they cry. If he had a good answer for these questions than it wouldn't be a big deal. He knows that he has sold out.

I think the repubs should really check some facts before they speak. I mean one lie after another . Palin has no clue about her on state facts never mind the BUSH DOCTRIN

This is from factcheck.org.

Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin sat down with ABC News' Charlie Gibson for an interview, part of which aired Sept. 11. In the exchange, the Alaska governor misstated a basic fact about her state's energy production:

Palin: Let me speak specifically about a credential that I do bring to this table, Charlie, and that's with the energy independence that I've been working on for these years as the governor of this state that produces nearly 20 percent of the U.S. domestic supply of energy, that I worked on as chairman of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, overseeing the oil and gas development in our state to produce more for the United States.

According to the federal government's Energy Information Administration, Alaskan wells produced 263.6 million barrels of oil in 2007, or 14.3 percent of the total U.S. production of 1.8 billion barrels.

But Alaskan production accounts for only 4.8 percent of all the crude oil and petroleum products supplied to the U.S. in 2007, counting both domestic production and imports from other nations. According to EIA, the total supply was just over 5.5 billion barrels in 2007.

As a tentative viewer of "The View," I've stuck with it all these years, primarily because of admiration for Barbara Walters. How sad that she especially pounded John McCain unfairly, because I no longer will watch her show, even sporadically. There are professional ways to interview these candidates without getting nasty and harshly critical, even if they don't agree with their platforms. Unfortunately, the women on "The View," including Walters, have not managed to learn that fact. The one exception is Elizabeth Hesselbeck, and she's no match for the mistresses of hatred she's seated with daily. One question I've always wanted the answer to: Don't these people know that one-half their TV audiences are turned off by their brazen show of partisanship? They must not -- and I'm glad Cindy McCain has stood up to them.

So as this household did for Matthews and Olbermann at MSNBC, this tacky ABC show has been erased from our "view."

So as this household did for Matthews and Olbermann at MSNBC, this tacky ABC show has been erased from our "view."

Someone needs to tell Cindy that just because she has 7 houses, that doesn't mean she needs to put makeup on at each one of them.

I saw the view. I must have seen something different than Cindy McCain. Does she and Senator McCain believe we're so stupid that they can lie to us anywhere and anytime? Senator McCain selected Governor Palin without properly vetting her. Now the campaign is using a blame the liberal media strategy to keep anyone from asking her tough questions. I believe they will sequester her until election day.

Everyday something negative is being reported about Govenor Palin. Troopergate was being investigated before Senator McCain selected Governor Palin as is VP and now his campaign operatives are trying to foil troopergate until after the election. The republicans have no shame, they will do anything.

What's even sadder, a lot of poor American will vote against their own interest in voting for him. I can't figure out what they believe they have in common with Senator McCain. He's not poor, he doesn't live from pay check to pay check, he doesn't have to worry about health insurance, he doesn't have to worry about gas prices, food or his job being shipped overseas. So, someone tell me, what does Senator McCain have in common with poor people?

John McCain is senile and has sacrificed all his integrity. I don't know who would vote for a man who would give up his integrity just to win an election. The thought of him in the white house makes me want to VOMIT!!!
