McCain rips Obama over Streisand fundraiser

Barbara Streisand will be at Sen. Barack Obama's California fundraiser Tuesday night.
Barbara Streisand will be at Sen. Barack Obama's California fundraiser Tuesday night.

(CNN) – As he heads off to a high-dollar fundraiser featuring Barbra Streisand, Barack Obama is hoping the politically-active singer can help him capture the White House.

So is John McCain.

Speaking at a campaign event in the working-class Democratic stronghold of Youngstown, Ohio, the Republican presidential nominee said Obama “talks a tough game on the financial crisis, but the facts tell a different story.

“...He put Fannie Mae’s [former] CEO, who helped create this problem in charge, of finding his vice president. That’s not change - that’s what’s broken in Washington,” said McCain.

“Talk about siding with the people, siding with the people just before he flew off to Hollywood for a fundraiser with Barbra Streisand and his celebrity friends,” he said. “Let me tell you my friends, theres no place I’d rather be than here with the working men and women of Ohio.”

Streisand, a staunch Democrat, is scheduled to perform at a $28,500 a head Obama fundraiser Tuesday night in Beverly Hills, California.

Wait, isn't McCain friends with Wilford Brimley? Jon Voight? Daddy Yankee? Didn't he announce his presidency on David Letterman?? Celebrity friends? Oh, how about the actress from Devil Wears Prada when you went to the yacht of her con artist boyfriend for cake and champagne? Didn't you appear on SNL too? Give me a break. Don't hate cause Obama's celebrity friends are cooler than yours.

Well maybe the Jewish Babs would not be afraid of a McBush Presidency, if his vice President candidate did not belong to a Church that says Terrorism is God's punishment for Jewish unbelief. I am not even Jewish and that scares me.

This public finance that Barack Obama has flip floped on was very disingenuous of him. One way of keeping private influence and lobbyist out of the white house is to accept public financing. It makes Barack Obama's policy of change uncredible and it shows that McCain has leadership on this issue.

Gee, is this what we can expect from Obama every time there is a crisis in the U.S.? He'll pack up and go to Hollywood to raise $20 million for HIMSELF. What a guy.

McCain never answered the question. Which country is he putting first? At one time he said we're all Georgians. What?! What?!

I'm an American and I will not let John forget it on November 4th.

John McCain could not BE more right about Obama. Barbara Streisand is part of the OLD politics. She honestly believes people care about her far-left view of politics.

Maybe all the republicans should just go and pray for a better economy, pray the dollar doesn't weaken further, but most of all pray for a better vice president pick, even Christ thinks she's annoying and not qualified.

McCain is mad because all he could get was singer "Daddy Yankee" for his endorsement" Daddy who? Stop being jealous McCain. If he could get Ms.Streisand at a fundraiser he would jump on it.

McCain's sounding kind of cranky. Maybe he needs to go to one of his seven homes and take a nap.

As a Canadian, if Obama loses, I want to invite all of you Democrats to come live here. We have public healthcare, good public universities, nice people and our troops our fighting in Afghanistan-where the real threats are.

I wonder what "the Governator" of California thinks of the GOP disparagement of Hollywood? I think McCain is just pissed that the best talent he can get is 1/2 of "Big n Rich" (ah the irony) and Cowboy Troy. Everyone else sues him for using their music.

McCain, I'm seriously starting to worry about your mental help. Please, for the sake of your loved ones, get a checkup.

  25. sad Obama wish

CNN very clearly made clear what do Obama and his surrogates want to happen in America today ...

    1. Economic downturn : this uncertainity brings them votes by claiming they know how to uplift market.

    2. More bankruptcy : Obama knows how to solve this problem.

    3. More job loss data from market : so Obama can encash on the news by asking for Votes.

Clearly, Obama is not wishing good for Americans.
