Palin hammers Obama on taxes in Ohio

Palin ripped Obama on the economy Tuesday.
Palin ripped Obama on the economy Tuesday.

VIENNA, Ohio (CNN) – With a strong anti-NAFTA sentiment and a heavy union presence, the Mahoning Valley in northeast Ohio isn’t exactly prime Republican territory.

But that’s exactly where John McCain and Sarah Palin took their road show on Tuesday, hoping to steal some votes from Barack Obama in a region of the state where Hillary Clinton reigned supreme during the Ohio Democratic primary.

“We’re making that foray,” said one campaign adviser. “It’s good to play offense.”

Introducing McCain for the first time since she traveled to Alaska last week, Palin kept the focus on jobs and the economy as Wall Street woes dominated the headlines for the second straight day. She laid into the Democratic ticket, accusing Obama of wanting to raise payroll taxes, business taxes, investment income taxes and the estate tax.

“Here’s a little straight talk for our opponent,” Palin said, using her running mate’s signature phrase.

“His tax plans really would kill jobs and hurt small businesses and make even today’s bad economy look like the good old days.”

Palin's claims aren't exactly accurate: Obama would maintain the Bush tax cuts and offer tax breaks to individuals making under $250,000 a year. According to the non-partisan Center for Tax Policy, Obama’s tax plan would offer greater tax relief than McCain's for low and middle-income earners, but McCain's plan would lower the tax burden more across the board.

As she did in Colorado on Monday, Palin linked the campaign's economic pitch to her small town roots.

“Our family, like your families, we know that the best way to help small businesses is for government to take less from them, leave more for them so that they can expand and create jobs,” Palin said. “It's a pretty simple principle.”

Several voters in the audience said they were supporting McCain and Palin because they favor lower taxes.

Joyce Kish, an elementary school teacher's aide who attended the rally with her three sisters-in-law, said taxes and employment are her top issues in the election. She said the Valley was suffering from the loss of manufacturing jobs, and that the two Republicans on stage had the managerial experience to fix the economy. All four women said they were adamantly opposed to abortion rights.

When Palin finished her introduction of McCain, scores of voters soon proceeded to file out of the venue, one more sign that the Alaska governor is the force behind the ballooning crowds that have turned out for McCain in recent weeks.

Imagine this: Palin telling lies about Obama's tax plan. Can you believe it? Oh, that's right, she parrots whatever McNothing tells her to, regardless if it's truthful or not. And the scary thing is that a lot of dim-witted republican's will believe her!!! Why are American's so stupid?

To jimmy and sick Cap & Dash key blogger here:

If lying about Obama's tax plan is all you got, you are pathetic. When Clinton took office Dow was 3226. He left office with a Dow of 10600. Now, Dow is 10,900. So, you like Bush's economy, vote McCain. He has a parking lot in Pheonix worth more than your house. Get a grip.

Sarah Palin is a liar and is out to deceive the Am people. First impression lasts. First she plays the victim, that the press is out to get her so she can avoid any interactions with them, for fear that the truth about her will come out. I dont believe that people would be dumb enough to buy this.

    Palin, not exactly accurate? NAH!

DOESN'T THIS WOMAN READ THE NEWSPAPER OR WATCH CNN OR MSNBC? WE KNOW SHE IS A CRAZY LIAR?

Today I saw Obama on TV in speech mapping out in detail his OWN ECONOMIC STRATEGY. Why are McCain spokesmen mapping out McCain's strategy? Can't John McCain speak for himself? Or is it that he doesn't know enough about the economy to tell us what HIS economic strategy would be?

CAN'T AFFORD 4 MORE YEARS OF BUSH/MCCAIN ECONOMIC STRATEGY

    List did she say:

(Palin) I raised sales taxes to build a sport arenna and left my town in debt(in the red, in the negative, broke!!!!!!!!!!!). Did she say that she lies everyday she speaks. Did she say well Obama is going to give you more of a tax break than McCain. Remember we are talk about McCain and Obama they do not earn less than 225,000 so remember how is willing to do this and how is not. McCain want to cut taxes for the people that make more than 2,500,000 (himself and Cindy). Did she say how much look at fact check for all what I am saying and you will see his tax break for himself. To break it down for you people that do not get it. If you make less than 225,000 dollars your taxes will not go up. Which will give you at least 1000+. McCain said he will up the tax credit but remember you have to make less than 38000 a year to given get that. Think people tell me what is going to help the most to everyday people and what will not. Come on Palin/McCain Oops McCain/Palin folks. Tell me what is your Spin. Do not give me she is a reformer or that crap give me some real issue. Unless that is not why you are voting.

If I hear one more war story or the No Thank You Bridge lie, I will probably need an aspirin. When McCain/Palin are not telling their truths they are bashing Obama. Don't they have something to talk about ....like maybe the issues? One thing for sure, Palin can see Russia from her front room living room. That's nice.

    CNN is defending OBAMA again.......

I strongly advice CNN to write more and find more negative about McCain & Palin and only write positive about Obama showing him as a genius ....

But, don^t do it so openly....

Hillary supporter for McCain and Palin.

I was at the rally in Vienna. Voters in the way-way-way back might have left after Sarah Palin's speech, but the throng of people behind me and in front of me stayed put until the end of John McCain's speech. Everyone was thrilled to hear McCain speak!

When is America going to learn. The republican economic policies do not work because of GREED,GREED,GREED. In theory they should work but havn't worked since the Eisenhower administration when everyone was relatively HONEST, HONEST, HONEST. Then came Newt Gingrich and congress started ME,ME,ME. and trash talking, instead of WE,WE,WE. Then everyone followed the money. Now we have LIES,LIES,LIES, and WAR,WAR,WAR. Also if god was on our side, the war would have been over. The country is at the edge of the cliff with the economy and I hope we don't end up with Dipstick and Lipstick. ALOHA

You know science says that if a person commits the same act 13 times in a row, it becomes a habit. That the individual does not have to think about how to complete that act any longer, it become almost instinctual Well I think we have all heard the same lies over and over again at least 13 times.

Scientifically speaking, that makes you Mr. McCain and Mrs. Palin Habitual LIERS.

What kind of leason is this to teach to our children, what kind of example is this to send to the rest of the world.

There is NO Honor, without Honesty!

Sarah Palin saying 'here's a little straight talk ' makes you wonder what is going on in her head.
She has to know that most of the country knows by now that she is a serial fabricater. Doesn't she care?
I wonder just what her values really are.

Palin is lying through her pretty face. She is not qualified to be VP a heartbeat away from the Presidency. What was McCain thinking? Why didn't he investigate her background before he picked her as his running mate.
The truth will come out about her corrupt administration as governor of Alaska. The troopergate abuse of power case will undo her and that is good for all of the people in the US who do not want a book burner right wing nut job barbie doll for Vice President.

    Keep her in Alaska

    Dear "Unbiased"

"Diplomatic," "Humanistic," "Reasonable," and "Stern when you have to be" are not qualities they ADJECTIVES. Perhaps you should add "grammatical" and "eloquent" to your list–as in the president should have grammatical as well as eloquent if he is going to convince voters that he can speak to other countries on our behalf. But then again, I guess that's just me being elitest, and we've all seen how well everything worked out over the last eight years with President Whatchamacallit.

    "Palin's claims aren't exactly accurate"

In other words, they are innaccurate.

In other words, they are false.

In other words, she is lying.

Time to stop walking on eggshells, people.

Of course, if all you've got is Hot, what crazy citizen will expect you to understand "tricle up" economy?

There really should have a test to become president and vip. Then the McBush bush and palin of this world would have to stay moose hunting in Alaska, while moonlighting as governor when hunting is over.

Obama is offering tax breaks solely to get elected. Once in office expect to see some of the highest tax increases in history across the board to pay for all of his grand schemes.

How people can fall for this bs is beyond me.

And as the next bit of drama is fixing to drop on Palin, she criticises Obama. Her corruption in Alaska is going to take front stage very soon. That and the Keating Five scandel starring John McCain should just be enough to give the election to Obama. More and more she displays the characteristics of CHeney/Bush, with secrecy and inaccessability to the news media. Yeah more of the McSame.
