WASHINGTON (CNN) - Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a prominent Hillary Clinton supporter and member of the Democratic National Committee’s Platform Committee, will endorse John McCain for president on Wednesday, her spokesman tells CNN.

The announcement will take place at a news conference on Capitol Hill, just blocks away from the DNC headquarters. Forester will “campaign and help him through the election,” the spokesman said of her plans to help the Republican presidential nominee.

Forester was a major donor for Clinton earning her the title as a Hillraiser for helping to raise at least $100,000 for the New York Democratic senator’s failed presidential bid.

In an interview with CNN this summer, Forester did not hide her distaste for eventual Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.

“This is a hard decision for me personally because frankly I don't like him,” she said of Obama in an interview with CNN’s Joe Johns. “I feel like he is an elitist. I feel like he has not given me reason to trust him.”

Forester is the CEO of EL Rothschild, a holding company with businesses around the world. She is married to international banker Sir Evelyn de Rothschild. Forester is a member of the DNC’s Democrats Abroad chapter and splits her time living in London and New York.

palin's limited executive experience includes job losses every single month she has been Governor. Not one single month has her administration created any jobs. Is this how her tax cuts create jobs or is this how her energy policy helps the economy? In addition, the Alaska unemployment rate for July 2008=6.9% (.8%higher than the US average.) Alaska, flush with oil money and she has lost jobs every single month. Don't take my word look at Alaska's Department of Labor web page at http://labor.state.ak.us and see for your self. Check Alaska's gas prices since she has been Govenor at http://www.alaskagasprices.com $3.31 in Nov. 2007 to $4.54 this month. Sounds like more of the Mcsame. Can we afford four more years of Bush policies?

Are you kidding me? Living in London she must only get the McCain campaign's side of the story. A democrat backing McCain is pathetic in itself since McCain is sure to devastate any kind of democratic ideals. What a confused young lady. Come to think of it, I'm kind of glad we don't have a nutcase like that on our team.

Wait, her last name is "de Rothschild" and she thinks Obama is the elitist? She splits her time between London and New York? Oh, now her support for McCain is clearer: she's the elite. Well then, that's ok, right? Glorious.

As Hillary Clinton asked: were you there for Hillary as a person or Hillary's policies? Clearly, you supported Hillary the person and not her policies and that is why you have defected to McPalin. Quite a shame, but don't let the door hit you in the rear end, Lynn.
    Obama-Biden 2008 & 2012!

Who needs her and what is the point CNN of giving her the spotlight of voicing her opinion!!There are alot of people who won't vote for McCain either! Obama doesn't need her he has millions of supporters!!! She can take her big mouth and her money!! Who needs her!!!

  18. John McPain

"CEO of EL Rothschild, a holding company with businesses around the world. She is married to international banker"

Who is she calling an elitist? Then you have McCain with 100 million in the bank and 9 houses.

Her main reason: "I don't like him." Is that because he is a man or black man?

So the biggest job in America is now a popularity contest where your reason for voting against some is I dont like them. Total BS!!!

She sounds like she may have a lot of money. McCain will be easier on her pocketbook. Obama has not given her reason to trust him? I guess she has not been paying attention to the proven lies that the McCain/Palin campaign have been dishing out. Does she really trust him or is she just pissed off because Hillary didn't win.

Well, she's an idiot if she wants to vote for someone out of spite. When women lose the right to choose, the economy sinks farther into the tank, and we start another war against Iran, she and her soon-to-be-broke banker husband can wonder who was really elitist and find only themselves to blame.

Is this a joke. Her name is Rothschild and she spends her time living in London and New York and she is calling Obama an elitist?

This has to be a joke.

Sounds like she has a lot more issues than Senator Obama.
