WASHINGTON (CNN) - Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a prominent Hillary Clinton supporter and member of the Democratic National Committee’s Platform Committee, will endorse John McCain for president on Wednesday, her spokesman tells CNN.

The announcement will take place at a news conference on Capitol Hill, just blocks away from the DNC headquarters. Forester will “campaign and help him through the election,” the spokesman said of her plans to help the Republican presidential nominee.

Forester was a major donor for Clinton earning her the title as a Hillraiser for helping to raise at least $100,000 for the New York Democratic senator’s failed presidential bid.

In an interview with CNN this summer, Forester did not hide her distaste for eventual Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.

“This is a hard decision for me personally because frankly I don't like him,” she said of Obama in an interview with CNN’s Joe Johns. “I feel like he is an elitist. I feel like he has not given me reason to trust him.”

Forester is the CEO of EL Rothschild, a holding company with businesses around the world. She is married to international banker Sir Evelyn de Rothschild. Forester is a member of the DNC’s Democrats Abroad chapter and splits her time living in London and New York.

Who cares?....and she don't like him and can't trust him?...that's just a cover for "i don't like him cause he's black"....if these people are big enough to say such things they should just state what they really feel. Hillary & Obama policies are virtually the same, anybody who was for hillary should automatically vote for obama.....any other reason for not voting for obama is because he's black...

McCain and hillarys policies are completely different, so for a hillary supporter to vote for McCain, this person clearly has racial issues to deal with...oh well he doesn't need her anyway...

A de Rothchild is calling someone who grew up in a poor single parent family, who scratched and clawed his way into and through Harvard, then worked as a teacher and public servant an elitist?

You sure that it is not because he wants to increase YOUR (that's right the over 250k a year) taxes?

Am I the only one who thinks that this person should cut down on the martoonies at lunch, or has 45% of the entire country gone mad?

    Peace

This is what is amazing about this individual. She is a former Clinton backer but because she doesn't like Obama she is voting for McCain. This makes absolutely no sense. I think this person is either racist or hoping McCain wins so Clinton can run again in 2012, either way it's pathetic and sad.

OBAMA IS DEFINELY NOT A MAN OF HIS WORD. HE WAS THE FIRST LIAR IN THIS CAMPAIGN BY SAY HE WOULD TAKE PUBLIC FINANCING BUT WHY WOULD ANYBODY BE DUMB ENOUGH TO BELIEVE OBAMA. WITH FREINDS LIKE REZKO, WRIGHT, FARRAKHAN, PFLUGGER, AYERS, YOU WOULD HAVE TO BE A DEMOCRAT TO BELIEVE A WORD HE SAYS.

She's definitely a racist. Racists do not like to see successful African-Americans and they call them elitist or uppity. How can she call Obama an elitist when she is the embodiment of one herself?

Sometimes cnn tries to be so unbias that it makes them look ridiculous. This story is a joke. Obama will bring us change while McCain just needs to be changed.

    Lynn Forester de Rothschild,

Did you really call Barack Obama an elitist?? Ms Rothschild we know your families background. Smoke and mirrors baby smoke and mirrors. And if people weren't stuck in surviving through the day to day struggle, they could have time to take a trip down memory lane and see the patterns. And Ms. Rothschild that was a very generous thing you guys did for AIG today. Just so you know your cloaking device is malfuctioning we see you!

  20. Test Questions

Many Hillary supporters were angered when Hillary was ignored in the VP selection, which also showed Obama's arrogance. Lynn Forester is just an example showing that the McCain-Palin ticket can attract Hillary supporters.

What is wrong with you people? Everyone owns their own vote. People are still allowed to choose any candidate they wish to in this great republic. How undemocratic attacking a person for choosing differently than you! That's not very progressive. That's not even American!

Citizens of the United States are allowed to cast their vote for anyone, for any reason. You attack and demean someone for picking a different candidate?! Call them names and hurl false accusations? No wonder so many are fleeing the democratic party!

And what's with the Palin remarks? Haven't you heard? McCain is running for POTUS. Palin is only the number 2. How odd. Can't remember the last time the top ticket opposition went after the bottom ticket. Only one explanation...that is what BO and his bots truly identify with.
