WASHINGTON (CNN) - Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a prominent Hillary Clinton supporter and member of the Democratic National Committee’s Platform Committee, will endorse John McCain for president on Wednesday, her spokesman tells CNN.

The announcement will take place at a news conference on Capitol Hill, just blocks away from the DNC headquarters. Forester will “campaign and help him through the election,” the spokesman said of her plans to help the Republican presidential nominee.

Forester was a major donor for Clinton earning her the title as a Hillraiser for helping to raise at least $100,000 for the New York Democratic senator’s failed presidential bid.

In an interview with CNN this summer, Forester did not hide her distaste for eventual Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.

“This is a hard decision for me personally because frankly I don't like him,” she said of Obama in an interview with CNN’s Joe Johns. “I feel like he is an elitist. I feel like he has not given me reason to trust him.”

Forester is the CEO of EL Rothschild, a holding company with businesses around the world. She is married to international banker Sir Evelyn de Rothschild. Forester is a member of the DNC’s Democrats Abroad chapter and splits her time living in London and New York.

So instead of trusting Obama, she puts her chips in with McCain, who can barely put two sentences together without a lie, and Palin, who can't manage one. Oh, but you say she's married to a banker? Bet he favors deregulation.

"Forester is a member of the DNC’s Democrats Abroad chapter and splits her time living in London and New York." but she dares call someone else an ELITIST!

How do all these prominent people who can't remember how many kitchens they have, have homes in different continents, send their children to IVY league colleges all get away with calling anyone Elitist?

When was the last time that Forester flew coach between London and New York? When did she last balance her checkbook?

Yes, a reckless president and lying vice president is a much better choice than Obama.

    Have fun with that.

She doesn't feel like she can trust Obama? But she can trust someone who's telling bold faced lie after bold faced lie? Can this be reverse sexism? Wouldn't it be funny if the Obama campaign started screaming reverse Sexism? :)

Really... By endorsing McCain.. all she's doing is telling Hillary that she doesn't care one bit for Hillary's ideas and policies. In fact.. ANY Hillary supporter that votes for McCain doesn't care for what Hillary stood for.. it was just a personal vote for Hillary.

Can someone please explain exactly what an elitist is?

Is it someone who wears an outfit over $300,000 to the RNC, or is it someone who has no idea how many homes they own.

If you are pissed that your nominee did not win, just say it, but please don't use the tired "elitist" line on someone who grew up in a single parented family, who was biracial at a time in American history when being black was bad enough let alone being biracial, and someone who not only survived, but excelled.

Please anyone explain the elitist title to me, especailly coming from an Rothschild! Be angry if you need to be, but stop with the insanity...

    Good Idea!
All you Hillary supporters who are still angry and believe she was robbed...
Voting for McCain and Palin is a great alternative!
Go ahead! Cut off your nose to spite your face.
    That'll teach 'em!

Thank god strong women are speaking out, I'm with this woman, I was a Democrat for 30 years, and I just don't like Obama. He pretends to be so wonderful and worried about us, but his voting record shows just the opposite. He supported big tax cuts for big oil, he took more money from the Freddy and Fannie May than any other politician. He's been bought buy big corporations, but acts like he's on the side of the little guy. People don't do their homework, and look at his actual record, and they are fooled by a good speech, or they listen to Oprah telling them how to vote. He's sexist and he played the race card with the Clintons, he introduced sleaz into this campaign, but now whines about it when he gets it back. I'll go with a strong woman over this man any day! His basic lack of respect for women makes that an easy decision.
