WASHINGTON (CNN) - Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a prominent Hillary Clinton supporter and member of the Democratic National Committee’s Platform Committee, will endorse John McCain for president on Wednesday, her spokesman tells CNN.

The announcement will take place at a news conference on Capitol Hill, just blocks away from the DNC headquarters. Forester will “campaign and help him through the election,” the spokesman said of her plans to help the Republican presidential nominee.

Forester was a major donor for Clinton earning her the title as a Hillraiser for helping to raise at least $100,000 for the New York Democratic senator’s failed presidential bid.

In an interview with CNN this summer, Forester did not hide her distaste for eventual Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.

“This is a hard decision for me personally because frankly I don't like him,” she said of Obama in an interview with CNN’s Joe Johns. “I feel like he is an elitist. I feel like he has not given me reason to trust him.”

Forester is the CEO of EL Rothschild, a holding company with businesses around the world. She is married to international banker Sir Evelyn de Rothschild. Forester is a member of the DNC’s Democrats Abroad chapter and splits her time living in London and New York.

If she is voting for McCain and is even going as far as voting for him then she should lose whatever position she holds with the DNC. She clearly does not hold the same values as the Democratic party and does not deserve anything from them.

Obama's GrandMother paid for Barry Sotero to go the Best school in Hawaii. His GrandMother could have bought a home instead of the mini fortune she spent on her Grandson who later changed his lastname to Obama.

Mr. O,Poverty has never been poor. Oh yeah, Dreams of My Father he states that he had to eat soups out of the can. Wow! How many Rich Boys learn to cook and budget their food after they have been spoiled?

Really, Obama is the Cult of Personality. People need to get a whiff of why he voted for FISA: Axelrod's clients are ATT&T and other communications corporate clients. FISA was designed especially to protect AT&T from being sued for Illegally Wiretapping the phones of citizens.

Wake up before the Sound Bytes start controlling your sense of realty.

When will you left leaning voters comprehend the fact that not everyone agrees with your position? Not understanding this simple premise is tantamount to fascism.

She is free to vote for who ever she wants to, regardless of what you think.

"...frankly, I don't like HIM"!!!!! Well, since she's not talking abt the issue but likability, she might as well be one of the Bigots in DNC.
    Good luck Geraldine Ferrarro 2.

For every democrat willing to endorse John McCain there are 10 Republicans willing to endorse Barack Obama.

Let's analyze this woman's decision. His policies are virtually the same as Clinton's. Senator Obama is 47 years old, has a wonderful family and a pretty lean arrest record. He's been thoroughly vetted by the media and others in a way no ordinary citizen has. That leaves just one alternative. Shame on her!

A Rothschild is calling the black son of a single mother who worked his way up to his current position and elitist.

The election dynamics has turned into one sorry and bad joke on the American people. The McCain campaign is a despicable example of taking a sum amount of zero and giving it a value the gullible American voter can relate to. People do get the government they deserve and will do so as the continue to vote against their better interests. The U.S., its moral standing in the world, its failing economy and crude/rude politics simply show the county has moved downward on the backside of its life cycle curve. So be it at the hands of the willingly uninformed!

You all are just bitter bitter. How many Dems have defected over the last few years? Soo many. It's got to hurt. It's because Obama, Pelosi, and Reed are so jacked up on stupidity, not resembeling any of the high points of the Democrativ party. Try to act like Franklin, Jack, or Bill and maybe you'll get elected. naner naner naner

Is she really a feminist that wanted to see a woman in office no matter what? She did support Hillary's policies and concerns for the country. So what was she? Who really is the elitist, she lives between Europe and New York? She should have been a Republican all alone.

Obiviously just wanted to support Hillary and not what she stood for.

I think this woman does not like Obama because of his skin color , or else she was not mean to serve people , she was in Democrat party for her own interest

Forester is a sole loser. If the candidate she backs can turn around and back Obama, why can't she. She was sucked in too deep emotionally on some counter Obama issues that she cannot tell red from the blue, pity.

Sounds like the lady is a republican. And she was helping clinton only to hurt Barack Obama's momentum. and now she is showing her real face. she should be removed from democratic party.

    Thank You VERY VERY Much.

EVERY time, I hear or see a woman say I will vote for Mccain because Hillary is not the Dem VP nominee or the nominee, I look at them and say "you are disgrace to feminism and to the nation"!!!

We NEVER favored hillary JUST because she IS woman – she is a great leader, has better values and policies AND works for people and executes .... Lynn OR whoever is voting for GOP – do you care for people?? Do you want to quietly sit there while your hard earned money is wasted on stupid wars????? You all are either complete idiots OR belong to one of these popular vote (blind folded by Race/Sex/Religion etc etc ) OR a rich business person / lobbyist afraid OR no role to play with the new Democratic administration!!!

So Lynn – is Palin offering you the lipstick for the slit? She has been chosen NOT to uplift women like us but a pure political play....
    C'mon....

I find it interesting that many of Hillary Clinton's supporters that make the headlines are *already* highly powerful women that don't have much of a track record in women's issues.

  23. I am an Elitist

I think anyone who says runs for president is an elitist (that includes the Clintons). They are saying that they are better than anyone else to lead this country. I for one do not want anybody to be my president who thinks they are not better than the average joe.

She's useless. She's the opposite of everything Hillary represents: Lynn hasn't worked hard, hasn't earned anything.

It's no surprise that an empty social climber would endorse McCain over Obama; Lynn represents the worst of America in her desire for personal power and connections exceeding her desire to see a single one of Hillary's issues come to fruition.

With friends like Lynn, who needs enemies?
