Biden: McCain fell off his horse

Sen. Biden talked about the economy while campaigning in Ohio Wednesday.
Sen. Biden talked about the economy while campaigning in Ohio Wednesday.

MAUMEE, Ohio (CNN) – Joe Biden hammered John McCain on the economy at his first stop Wednesday in this battleground state, criticizing the Arizona senator for only now coming around to the idea of regulation needed to avert financial crises.

“All of a sudden it’s my goodness there’s greed on Wall Street, my goodness we need common sense regulation,” Biden said.

With polls showing Barack Obama has lost his lead in Ohio, Biden is embarking on a two-day bus tour of the state.

The Delaware senator told supporters at an outdoor rally that they have a choice between those who allow corporations and the wealthy to go "unfettered” and those who want “common sense rules” to protect transparency.

“Look, if John cares so much about this now, where was he a week ago?” Biden asked. “Where was he a month ago? Where was he 5 years ago? I’ll tell you where he was, he was bragging to the folks on Wall Street, to the executives who now he calls ‘greedy.’ He was bragging to them how we’re going to shred the regulation that fetters them, that ties them down.”

“So let’s take a look at John’s conversion here,” Biden later added, “Something happened on the road to Damascus, John fell off his horse but he got back up on the same horse.”

He went on to draw parallels with McCain’s health care plan, saying that there too McCain favors de-regulation that wouldn’t allow states to protect its residents from insurance companies.

“So John, you got back on the same horse, you continue to push a plan that’s designed to de-regulate the health insurance industry,” said Biden, asking the crowd to raise their hands if they trust insurance companies to take care of their needs.

“I got one person [who] raised their hand. I got also a bridge I got to sell you and guess what? It’s in Alaska and it goes to nowhere,” he said, echoing a line Obama has been using on the stump as well.

You tell 'em, Joe. McCain's been out of touch with realism for longer than any of us care to even think about. It's about time someone brought him to task!

The reason why our economy is crashing is because of Iraq all the money that was supposed to refuel the economy are been sent to Iraq while the economy is let alone to die. The consumers have no confidence in the market that is mean they will not spend and again the economy will struggle. John McCain does not understand that simple economics formular and stated that the economy is strong. I know that McCain pocket is strong because he is a rich man. But, our economy is not strong.

McCain's "DRILL, DRILL, DRILL" answer to gas prices won't even
happen for at least 10 years.
    McCain's "BOMB, BOMB, BOMB, may happen in two more country's;
Iran and Russia, so says Sarah Palin when they let her alone on the
    campaign trail!!!!!
McCain's stance on "deregulation" of the Banks and Big Corporation,
just gave the "A.OK. to the crooks that took huge millions of Dollars
of Bonuses-Some of them got bonuses when they got fired!!!!!!
AMERICA OWNED BANKS SET US BACK BILLIONS. THEY HAD
TO BUY THEM!!!!!! CHINA BOUGHT THE FIRST FEW!!!!!
McCain's pick of Sarah Palin was Karl Rove's idea, although it
would show Rove had a "conflict of interest" because he is "employed"
by Fox. Anything Rove says, now is to cover up the fact that he is both
employed by Fox, and he is helping the Republicans win.

People ask what Joe Biden has done about the sub prime mortgage crisis.

Well, if Washington had listened to him in the first place we wouldn't have one. McCain voted for the 1999 Gramm Deregulation Act, Biden voted against it. If Gramm sounds familiar, he's the guy working for McCain now who said we're a nation of whiners for thinking we've got financial problems. The 1999 Gramm Deregulation Act, also known as the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, deregulated the finance industry, which led to the whole mess we have now.

Next time, try to do a little research. And listen to the Democrats, 9 times out of 10 we're right.

  11. Hillary now for Obama

Boeing was orginally given the contract to build the Military refueling jets in the USA, by Americans. McCain was the instigator in Boeing losing that bid, and it going to rebid. McCain was the main supporter of Airbus winning the new bid. The contract was once again disputed and is up for rebid, which once more McCain will fight against.

This man is not about keeping jobs in America, and he would rather have our Military weapons built in another country.

    Go Sarah-

Are you for real? A number of the people covering politics on CNN worked for or are working for Republican candidates.

You must mean Fox and you must mean registered Republicans. Hannity narrated the video opening up the 2004 Republican convention. Their lead anchor, Tony Snow, became Bush's press secretary!

    How about some facts?

"Biden is funny…….he's the typical raving lunatic who won't shut up, so everybody pretends to listen to him, while they are wondering how long before he shuts up.

However, we know how to shut him up….ask him about his sons legal issues."

Beau Biden is the Delaware Attorney General and he's also a Captain in the Delaware Army National Guard, with a deployment coming up in October. Hunter Biden was appointed to the US Department of Commerce by Clinton, and then nominated by George W Bush to the board of directors of Amtrak, a decision that was confirmed unanimously by the Senate.

So... can you find anywhere outside of lunatic far right websites that says his sons are even having legal problems? They look to me like fine upstanding members of the community.

America is already "in" a depression! America was "forced" to

    anymore banks in America.

Obama and Biden both has many troublesome personal issues. But how come the media did not dig them deep? We know Obama's Acorn issue ...

As voters from CA, we are very clear that McCAIN is NOT Bush. He reached more DEMS. in the senate than Obama. Obama is a very POLISHED AND SNEAKY DIRTY CHICAGO POLITICAN. He always voted ABSENT.

As Hillary said: How can the American people trust a guy who has no courage to vote a "YES" or "NO"?
