Biden: McCain fell off his horse

Sen. Biden talked about the economy while campaigning in Ohio Wednesday.

Sen. Biden talked about the economy while campaigning in Ohio Wednesday.

MAUMEE, Ohio (CNN) – Joe Biden hammered John McCain on the economy at his first stop Wednesday in this battleground state, criticizing the Arizona senator for only now coming around to the idea of regulation needed to avert financial crises.

“All of a sudden it’s my goodness there’s greed on Wall Street, my goodness we need common sense regulation,” Biden said.

With polls showing Barack Obama has lost his lead in Ohio, Biden is embarking on a two-day bus tour of the state.

The Delaware senator told supporters at an outdoor rally that they have a choice between those who allow corporations and the wealthy to go "unfettered” and those who want “common sense rules” to protect transparency.

“Look, if John cares so much about this now, where was he a week ago?” Biden asked. “Where was he a month ago? Where was he 5 years ago? I’ll tell you where he was, he was bragging to the folks on Wall Street, to the executives who now he calls ‘greedy.’ He was bragging to them how we’re going to shred the regulation that fetters them, that ties them down.”

“So let’s take a look at John’s conversion here,” Biden later added, “Something happened on the road to Damascus, John fell off his horse but he got back up on the same horse.”

He went on to draw parallels with McCain’s health care plan, saying that there too McCain favors de-regulation that wouldn’t allow states to protect its residents from insurance companies.

“So John, you got back on the same horse, you continue to push a plan that’s designed to de-regulate the health insurance industry,” said Biden, asking the crowd to raise their hands if they trust insurance companies to take care of their needs.

“I got one person [who] raised their hand. I got also a bridge I got to sell you and guess what? It’s in Alaska and it goes to nowhere,” he said, echoing a line Obama has been using on the stump as well.

I love it. A vp candidate thats actually open, honest and candid with his audience. Now if we can just get that other lady candidate to open up, oh yeah I forgot, she did answer one off the cuff question. And it only took her 3 WEEKS.

Mr. & Mrs. Duck and Dodge were on Good Morning America, and they were true to themselves. They told a bunch of lies and pretended to answer questions that they had no intention of answering.

The first question to McCain should have been "why are you lying about what you said on Monday? Didn't you say that the fundamentals of the economy are strong?"

John is a phoney and a fake and the sooner he is exposed for the coward that he is the better.

Everybody puts their foot in their mouth sometime, but Joe Biden knows what he's talking about, unlike Govenor Palin. Nobody should be a heartbeat away from the presidency who just spent a week trying to learn about foreign policy with the help of Bush advisors and flashcards. Sarah Palin is an insult. When I go to the dentist, I want someone who knows something about teeth. And when I vote for president, I vote for someone who knows more than me, not someone I can go hunting with. I might not know exactly what the Bush Doctrine is, but I sure as heck expect the four candiates for the white house to know.

I don't see how Biden have the nerve to come out and attack McCain.

If McCain is geriatric, so is Biden. Matter of fact he was in the senate longer than McCain. The Obama people is blaming McCain for EVERY SINGLE THING THAT HAS GONE WRONG IN THIS COUNTRY. What about the do-nothing senate? Do they get blamed for anything?

Obama is very much an unfair campaigner. He will say ANYTHING against his opponent. It is sickening to be taken for a fool.

Besides, ladies.....with regard to Hillary Clinton and Palin ...... for obama, it is one down and one to go. Easy, isn't it.

Tell it like it is, Joe!

McCain was Chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee for years and years. This is his disaster being cleaned up.

Wow, the Senator from MBNA is calling for financial reform? If I were a banker, I'd be asking for my contributions back.

I see more and more calls for "regulation" and "government control"
Folks in eastern europe had that for years. Ask them how they feel about it.

I love poster Palin 2012- nothing but a naive Obamabot thinking no one can see through the ploy of pretending to be a Palin supporter and totally Anti-Hillary. Yeah right. We believe THAT.

We Hillary supporters, have been around a LONG time- we are not so easily manipulated as you Obama supporters are. We think for ourselves and act for ourselves. No one "controls" us.

We HRC supporters- will ALWAYS vote for HRC- and we will always vote on issues- not image.

Get a clue- Obama is a dictator wannabe who does not appeal to TRUE democrats.

Anyone who TELLS his or her supporters WHAT to do- on a daily basis- does NOT believe in the right to free thought, free speech and the right of the people to vote. Obama inspires his hateful army of thugs to agitate for national division and to rally to support Obama.

HRC NEVER did that. She never asked her supporters to go out there and do this or that on her behalf. She never tried to control her supporters. She never instructed people on what to say or do.

Obama is a disgrace. A egomaniacal person who wants to be supreme leader.

The media is always bashing McCain.

Look on the bright side, $85B bailout on AIG. 305 million people in the U.S.

Each person paid $278.69 to save AIG.

AIG stock is selling at $2.40 a share.

Every man, woman, and child now owns 116 shares in AIG!

Talk about socialism... AIG is now The People's Insurance Company. This goes nicely with The People's Bank and The People's Mortgage Company.

When do we get our dividend checks?

Tuesday, several women's rights groups endorsed Obama and stated that simply having a woman on the ticket isn't enough to overlook McCain's poor record on women's rights. In response, McCain's campaign seemed to suggest that these organizations really don't advocate women's rights since they don't support Palin.

Why aren't you covering this story, CNN?

THe Blame Game – that's what's become of the OBama-Biden ticket – Blowing their own horns while blaming everything on the Bush years. Obama raising millions upon millions of dollars on himself while people are losing their jobs, their homes, their retirement monies. Obama has collected so much money he should be bailing out Wall Street. I think the guy is one big hypocrite.
