Another new Obama ad hits McCain on jobs.
Another new Obama ad hits McCain on jobs.

(CNN) – Barack Obama’s campaign has released another negative ad that accuses John McCain of failing to protect American jobs – its second TV spot in the past few weeks aimed at working-class Pennsylvanians as the nation's economic crisis continues.

The tough new ad spotlights the closing of a Corning Glass factory in State College, accusing the Republican presidential nominee of being partly responsible for the loss of 1,100 jobs there four years ago.

“Corning shuts down its plant in Pennsylvania,” says the announcer in the 30-second spot. “Hundreds lose their jobs. Then the workers are rehired to disassemble the plant. And ship the equipment to China.

“Washington sold them out. With the help of people like John McCain. He supported tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas. And voted against cracking down on China for unfair trade practices. We can’t afford more of the same.”

'Revitalize' is the latest Obama ad to hit McCain on jobs. They released a spot several weeks ago that charged the Arizona senator with failing to protect U.S. motorcycle manufacturing jobs that hit the airwaves as he visited York, Pennsylvania, home of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle factory.

Earlier: Another Obama Pennsylvania spot accuses McCain of failing to protect U.S. jobs

The campaign has also run radio and television ads that said the presumptive Republican nominee and his campaign manager Rick Davis were partly responsible for the potential loss of thousands of Ohio jobs, timed to coincide with his trip to the area where shipping giant DHL may make those cuts, and a similar ad about the auto industry when McCain visited Michigan.

The Obama campaign said the ad would air in Pennsylvania and in "key" states nationwide.

UPDATE: The Republican National Committee response pointed to Obama's spring loss to Hillary Clinton in the Pennsylvania primary. “Barack Obama has no record of reforming government and does not know how to fix the current crisis, so he’s going on the attack," said Republican National Committee spokesman Alex Conant. "Pennsylvanians rejected Obama’s name calling and false attacks this spring, and they’ll do it again this fall.”

Hey 4 year Senator…

What exaclty have you done to help…

Oh yea… Voted PRESENT 128 time…. What a tool…

He really thinks America is stupid..

BK   September 17th, 2008 1:08 pm ET

Obama is a joke trying to make the american people believe its McCains fault. How stupid does Obama think we are? Obama has already told the Canadian Gov. he is not going to do anything about NAFTA. He just wants the people from Ohio to vote for him. What a fraud!

Ryan S.   September 17th, 2008 1:07 pm ET

When Senator Obama releases an ad such as this, it's called "negative." When Senator McCain releases one, it's called a "contrast" ad. Further, Obama's ads have the added benefit of being *true*, while McCain's are out and out lies. But of course, the press must present a "balance" in reporting, even when no such balance exists.

Den   September 17th, 2008 1:07 pm ET

IM SORRY CNN BUT THAT IS NOT A NEGATIVE AD!!! WHEN YOU TALK FACTS ABOUT WRONG THINGS AND DECISIONS SOMEBODY HAS MADE, ITS NOT NEGATIVE.

IT DOES NOT PAINT SOMEBODY AS BEING WRONG BUT IT SIMPLY POINTS OUT THE WRONG DECISIONS SOMEOBODY HAS MADE.

SO PLEASE… WE WENT THROUGH WEEKS OF SMEARING ADS FROM MCSAME CAMPAIGN AND STRAIGHT OUT LIES AND ALL I READ ON THE TICKER WAS "MCCAIN HAMMERS OBAMA ON THIS" …"GOP GOES OFFEINSIVE ON OBAMA"…
JEEZE..

TO ELLA… THIS ENTIRE COUTNRY HAS BEEN IN LA LA LAND FOR 8 LONG YEARS. MAYBE YOU OWN A STAKE ON WALL STREET BUT AVERAGE AMERICANS DO NOT.

I DARE YOU TO START A CONVERSATION ABOUT MCSAMES ECONOMIC ADVISOR GRAMM!! MAKE MY DAY!!

BET CNN DOESNT POST THIS COMMENT!!! BUT WHAT ESLE IS NEW?

Amazed   September 17th, 2008 1:07 pm ET

Obama went to Hollywood because they will give to him. McCain would if they supported him. Nobody said anything about the fundraiser Palin had at the Country Club in Ohio with the man that shipped 1000 jobs overseas did they?

jt   September 17th, 2008 1:07 pm ET

Obama is just full of the same hot air.

No record of doing anything good for this country so far except being a community organizer. He got to do more than that to be President.

Vote McCain a war hero!

D&D   September 17th, 2008 1:06 pm ET

Now I understand why Obama had to go on offense to open some people's eyes, because apparently, they can't see the obvious:

McCain is the Same
Obama is the Change

They used to make Baby Formula in America but the Repugs allowed them to move the companies to China and lay off all the American workers so they could use Chinese labor at about a quarter a day pay.
So, I have several cases of Chinese baby Formula at home I will sell real cheap. Any takers.

Terry, NJ   September 17th, 2008 1:04 pm ET

Sure NOBama.. Blame McCain for the economy sucking… I'm sure some people are gullible and naive enough to believe that him not being President and being a Senator like yourself. Except he's been one for like 15 yrs long than you…. You're both Senators. You're supposed to vote YES or NO on things. Yet YOU have a tendency to just vote PRESENT because you can't make up your mind or you don't want to be held accountable for having voted for something that doesn't turn out favorable with the public maybe?

DON'T DRINK THE KOOLAID!!!
NOBAMA!!!!

With all of Obama's entitlement programs he is calling for, jobs will become real scarce. Because everyone will need two just to pay the taxes.

You will be thinking LALA land if McCain wins, you will be asking yourself why you were so blind. He has been a deregulator for 25 years, why would he change now. He was part of the savings debacle, remember the Keating 5…he was one of them.

Get smart vote Obama/Biden 08

Why isn't anyone talking about this mans health? With his history there is a REAL possibility that Palin could end up running this country????? Has everyone gone crazy??!! This needs to be addressed.

Elle   September 17th, 2008 1:01 pm ET

Good, I'm glad Obama is continuing to fight against McCain's attacks and is starting to take the offensive. I'm so sick of the fighting, but as McCain has continued to defy his original promise to run a clean campaign, it's time for Obama to keep hammering McCain's tactics and let the public know that it's time for a Democrat in the White House.

Barack Obama knows that Clinton started NAFTA. He knows that free trade is not going to stop. He knows he won't do anything to change it. He tries to blame John McCain. This is real sleazy politics.

U gotta be kidding   September 17th, 2008 12:57 pm ET

I can't believe what I am reading doesn't anybody remember who signed the free trade agreement. (Bill did) so blaming McCain for job going over seas is about the dumbest thing I heard. When certain officials (George) put tariffs on china steel Did Obama stand for the steel worker. (no he didn't). But now he worried can we believe that!!!

McCan't   September 17th, 2008 12:57 pm ET

It just blows my mind that people are still supporting McCan't. Its amazing how spreading fear and lies can cloud the real issues. By the way, I think you can stop putting "presumptive" in front of Republican nominee.

Hey Ella, John McSame was at a hollywood fundraiser recently as well. How is that ok but its not ok for Obama to raise money?

Grandma for O   September 17th, 2008 12:56 pm ET

Ella dear, do you know that the same day McCain was slamming Obama for going to Hollywood for a fundraiser, McCain himself was to attend a $25,000 a plate fund raiser for him?

Didn't think so.

Senate Voting Recods   September 17th, 2008 12:56 pm ET

There is no doubt that McSame has voted along with Bush over 90% of the time. This is on record. You notice how McSame never brings up the percentage of time that Obama voted with Bush, because you know it is real low. So if McSame is suppose to be a maverick, why hasn't he been one over the last eight years?

Tell us how you're going to develop new energy/healthcare/scientific technologies to compete on a global scale.

Enough rhetoric!!! Give us some details!! We want to believe change is possible, but you're not going to be able to compete with the Republican BS machine without a specific course of action!!

McShame/McSame should be ashame. China is building their wealth off of US Companies taking their business overseas and selling products made in China in our country. I was yesterday GM will be releasing cars in China which good but my concern is what about Detroit workers at GM. What will happen to those people? It's a ghost town in Detroit, people are losing their jobs, houses and their entire life savings. It's unfortunate that everytime you call into US companies (customer service) we get operators from oversees. I'm not begruding any of them but lets first put some money back into the American economy. . How can President Bush see our country economy in the condition it's in and gave 1 Billion dollars to Georgia ago? For the love of God Bush the US economy is bleeding and you are giving away 1Billion dollars to Georgia. How about throwing that money into New Orleans or Texas?

If you also pay attention, Obama has gotten more small donations from us ordinary citizens that McCain could dream about and Obama has somehow made more money. No one wants McSame bs anymore.

lindapuma   September 17th, 2008 12:45 pm ET

got that right
McCain has just as much as said – don't expect to get another maufacturing job – they are gone.

He is completely out of touch with people and with the fact that we need some manufacturing to stay at home to be a big portion of the economy

These people can't wait to stuff their millionaire buddies' pockets with cash but have no interest in helping good hard working people get good jobs.

Vile!

Illinois Blue Dog   September 17th, 2008 12:45 pm ET

When Pres. Bush took office the unemployment rate was 4.2%. Currently the unemployment rate is 6.1%. Obama needs to hit McCain and the Republicans hard and often with the economy and jobs. If he does, then I have a feeling that those poll numbers in PA and Ohio start to swing back in Obama's favor.

I think the bottom line is….McCain is a Republican who did NOT oppose or suggest any policies in the past 8 years that could have stopped our economy being in this mess.

A true Maverick would have done this rather than change his moderate views in 2006 to conform to conservative policies he needed to try and get elected President.

Outsourcing for profits at the expense of American jobs is a shameful situation.

John McCain could have done more to stop what has happened. He did nothing.

The answer to Obama's ad is easy for John McCain. All he has to do is stand up and explain why he voted the way he did on these issues.

John must of had a good reason and he won't be ashamed of the way he voted so obviously he will release an ad explaining why he voted the way he did.

Sorry John…………..if you can remember why you voted those ways then explain your thought process.

Ella, I would rather vote for a person who gets money from his friends in Hollywood, than vote for a person who wants to send my job to Pakistan.

Bill-C-Bus OH   September 17th, 2008 12:42 pm ET

I have issue with how some people believe that the party responsible for all these loop holes and breaks are still good enough to save us from the mess that THEY created. I grew up in the rust belt where these failed policies had a devestating effect. And still erode the landscape.

Give it time. Obama is reacting to the chaos on wall street while McCain is talking about others taking care of it.

McCain will fail.

Independent for Obama

good for him and just top make this stick some more, the State of PA has announced a hiring freeze, no travel out of the state, and possibly asking depts to cut 4+% on expenses because the economy is so bad, and the state is taking less revenue….. so it is beginning to hit home more and more…and what do we hear from McCain no real ideas just " let's from a committee" which is DC's response to everything.

shame on you   September 17th, 2008 12:42 pm ET

shame on the prominent DNC'er (Hillary backer) who has decided to back Repubs. If you backed Hillary, which is for the Democrats, why "pray tell" would you change your party? You are not a Democrat, you are a feminist. If you are such the feminist that you would vote repub bc of Palin, we don't need people like you in the DNC.

This comes as no suprise as an act that is very typical of McSelf.
If he will draft a bill ,that is later quietly signed ,that removes 12,000 women, children, elders from their lands and onto a radio-actic toxic dump ,(2nd only to Cheranoble) in 1997, (so that they may suffer and die…and this was done with the help of the Morman church ,they had been trying to get the land since 1973 for a profit for them and finaly for Peabody Coal .Ask McCain/Romney how much did they get in the way of money for the lives they endangered ?.)…he will move jobs out overseas. Google the Navajo Nation or UNA and see what he has done to the Native Americans. Palin has also done very similar acts and worse to the Alaskan indeginous peoples…don't think for a moment she wants them to retain their lands….she needs to hunt from helicopters..wolfs,moose, and have their dead or dying bodies hang down on the runners as they fly around looking for more to destroy….and of course, the "pipeline" that hasn't been built from Alaska all the way down inside the lower 48….They make a good team. They do not care. On this toxic waste land nothing can grow, and the water glows. This has been documented and taken to the U.N. in 2000( since no one wished to talk about dire conditions). Food=no. House=no.Health care=none.Education= no. Now on the other hand Obama has talked with, visited, written down what he will do to help. He took the time.He will get their vote. ….McCain/Palin=no….They are out for themselves and will approve what will make them wealthier. The U.S. citizens,….well if they think for one short moment that they care for them….wrong.

Go Obama/Biden '08

I hope more people read the facts and start voting based on McCain's real record in Washington. He is a Bush follower. More of the same if not what we need. The country is in dire straights and doesn't need more of the same.

If people really listened to Obama's detailed platforms, they would quickly change their minds if they considered supporting McCain. No one with any common sense would vote for McCain/Palin

Eric   September 17th, 2008 12:41 pm ET

Want to know why so many jobs are shutting down and moving out?

Because the Dems want to remove tax breaks for large corporations.
This means a decreased profit margin. That is why the move their big businesses overseas and get more breaks and cheaper labor. We have how many people on welfare? Those people could take the lower paying jobs but they refuse. Businesses can't expand because the land they want to use might be inhabited by the one eyed, one eared farting buffalo ant and it is on the endangered species list.

Come on America. This is why businesses need tax breaks and other incentives. Otherwise they leave. And we want a President who will raise their taxes? You say McCain is going to destroy the economy?
The Dems have been in charge for how long? They haven't done much that I can see. The President doesn't make these changes, congress does. The President just has veto power.

And Rob, how do you penalize them? They are independent companies. If the government didn't give them the money to start the company how do they have the right to penalize them?

WAKE UP AMERICA! WE NEED CHANGE! "EIGHT IS ENOUGH!"

William in Texas   September 17th, 2008 12:39 pm ET

McCain is nothing more than a replica of Bush. He has admitted to being both techologically and economically ignorant. So what is all the surprise about? If McCain is elected, it will be four more years of continued job losses, corporate subsidies, welfare for the military complex, reduction in social services, lack of public transit and increased unemployment. If this is where America wants to find itself, by all means for the old fool and religious gun totting zealot. WAKE UP AMERICA!

L   September 17th, 2008 12:39 pm ET

obama, even though you think your god, you cannot stop the manufacturing jobs from going overseas. its too expensive here to run them which makes prices too high when they go out, and the unions have too strong a hold. You can tax them, like you said you would, but then you are just going to force them to close down completely.

ml   September 17th, 2008 12:39 pm ET

If Obama he does read from scripted speech, he is loss. I have heard him speak live, and he makes no sense.
Wake up people, McCain all the way.
The US will be safer if McCain is in power. Look at all he has done for Country first.
If ever something would happen , like another attack, Obama would not be the person I would trust to make a decision. He has no experience as a Commander in Chief.
He had the opportunity to show that he knows how to govern had he chosen Hilary and he did not. He was afraid that Hilary would shine more them him, being that she should be the one who should be representing the democrats running for president and not Obama. All polls indicated that he screwed that up by not picking Hilary.

Go McCain all the WAY

Alex   September 17th, 2008 12:39 pm ET

Do you honestly think that there is a difference between McCain and Bush? The only difference I can see is McCain getting worst than Bush in his sleazy ads and attacks. He lost to Bush because of sleazy ads because of that he is refining Bush’s errors and doing it better than him. Even Karl Rove is shocked at how low he took the ads. Has he stayed on message we would not be talking about this now.

Chi4Obama   September 17th, 2008 12:39 pm ET

The fact that Obama had a campaign fundraiser in Hollywood, has absolutely nothing to do with "lost jobs" in PA. One has absolutely nothing to do with the other.

Obama is concerned about jobs.. Not his job or the hollywood jobs but BLUE COLLAR jobs. Perhaps you should open your mind and focus on the economy instead of a fundraising event as McCain has had his fair share of them as well.

THE DOW IS DOWN OVER 315 POINTS…. THIS IS WHAT YOU SHOULD BE PAYING ATTENTION TO!!!

Steve   September 17th, 2008 12:37 pm ET

Let me see… Biden in the Senate for 36 years, Obama in the Senate for 4 years. Are you telling me that neither one of them didn't see jobs headed oversees? Can any Democrat supporter tell me what they have done to stop this job loss? What have they done? Congress has more to do with the ecomony than a President does!

Peter (CA)   September 17th, 2008 12:37 pm ET

Ella,

This country put Bush in the White House (well, at least once) and McCain is actually in the race.
We are obssessed with stuff on TV and buying ourselves all the newest toys.

Few people pay attention to what is happening in this country until there are huge bank failures like this week. So, yeah, we are living in La-La land.

Presdiential campaigns are expensive. I would rather Obama raise the money from PRIVATE citizens who happen to be entertainers than from large corporations who will want something back.

Dumb republicans fall for it every time. McCain is the same as Dubya, worst president in history, and they want to do it again.

If he's elected, the poor, dumb republican base will complain about everything, but won't learn from their mistakes, and they will pay for them like everyone else.

MW   September 17th, 2008 12:36 pm ET

Don't forget to mention that McCain is currently pulling strings to give a major military contract to Airbus in Europe instead of an American company like Boeing. Not only does this NOT CREATE AMERICAN JOBS, but it is also a conflict of interest to have Europeans work on OUR military equipment. McCain and his buddies that he is working for have everything to gain by this move and Americans have everything to lose. It is hard to believe that there are so many gullible Americans that are willing to vote for this guy.

Dave   September 17th, 2008 12:36 pm ET

I'm sure Mr. McSame will have really good reasons for this… he'll find SOME way to blame Obama or Biden. And if he can't find a "Real" reason to blame them, he can always just make something up to see if Americans will buy it!

John McCain preaches “Country First”. But the problem is the country he is referring to is either China or India.

His motto should be “Country (Club) First” so that his rich backers can continue to profit in a truly deregulated market place at the expense of the sovereignty of this country.

After an incompetent mechanic damages your car, do you take it back to him to fix it? Of course not. You don't let him finish trashing it. You find a new mechanic.

Is McCain soooo aweful that his Vice President is more important? Yes.

Is CNNs coverage biased?
Yes (they go with the hype rather than the issues)

Warning to Republicans and Independents: If McCain is elected, Palin will merely be a puppet, as most VP's have been in the past. Change will NOT Happen with a Republican Victory.

Nurse Ratchet   September 17th, 2008 12:32 pm ET

McCain is also directly responsible for a recent job exodus out of Ohio and has been supporting policies that ship our jobs here to Mexico and China. We have a serious unemployment and underemployment problem (even those folks who aren't "counted" in after their unemployment runs out). We have gifted and educated kids and factory workers alike trying to compete for minimum wage jobs, which surprisingly aren't hiring.

McCain you are so out of touch! If we can't keep jobs, who the heck is going to "buy" all those products? How can we keep making house payments when we bought them based on our income before our jobs left for Mexico; now we're expected to make the same payments based on either no income or an income less than 50% of our prior wages????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Obama speaks and sheople take it as fact…are you really that stupid?

I'll chalk this up to the crowd that blames bush when they get a flat tire or a fly in their soup.

If the government wasn't taxing our businesses so much (highest worldwide) they wouldn't be scrambling overseas to avoid those taxes and the jobs would be kept here.

To make matter worse, Obama plans to FURTHER INCREASE the tax burdens on our companies to cut taxes of the low incomes. What good are tax breaks when you DON'T HAVE A JOB?

Fact: the unemployed don't pay taxes. So where's obama going to get the funds to pay for his bloated socialist agenda?

McCain has been part of the problem allowing other countries to take advantage of these trade agreements that are written to advantage that country and not the U.S. The loss of Amerccian jobs can be directly related to these weak agreements. McCain states that free trade is good for the country and he will continue to support the same. Obama sates that free trade is good for the country but he wants to renegotiate those trade agreements so that these countries as China, India, Mexico, etc., are required to follow the same safety, environmental and pay/employment/benefit policies that the U.S. follows. Then we can say that free trade has been placed on a more equitable playing field for the U.S. And as the U.S. worker is the better worker world-wide, such jobs would no longer be shipped overseas. Under a McCain administration where such agrements would not be renegotiated, the U.S. will continue to lose jobs.

Lisa P   September 17th, 2008 12:26 pm ET

Sad that the Obama campaign has so many examples of closed plants to point to. They could run this "local" ad all over the country.

ade   September 17th, 2008 12:26 pm ET

He did it because he wanted to replace it with jobs that will not leave the US. It was an honest mistake. I hope Pennslyvanians will forgive him. Remember he was a POW?

jaye   September 17th, 2008 12:26 pm ET

People don't care about jobs or the economy or that our country is falling down around our ears – people just don't want a black man in the white house.
So, people will vote for the republicans knowing that the republicans have all but destroyed our country.
I find it all laughable – and I just want people to know that "you get what you vote for."
A 72 year old liar and a 44 year old idiot.

Danny   September 17th, 2008 12:26 pm ET

I beg to digress
If the republicans did not want to make the UN speech partisan, they should have not sent Palin, someone who will go there to read a written speech of something she knows absolutely NOTHING about as opposed to Hillary who knows foreign policy. That is a cheap shot and they know it. Dems should send Sebelius or Napolitano.

McCain cant make up his mind whether to regulate or deregulate or whether the fundamentals are sound or not. Tomorrow he probably will redefine Fundamentals as how clean the air we breathe is!

Gabr   September 17th, 2008 12:25 pm ET

CNN if full of liberal blind extatic BHO supporters, who can't see farther than their nose. I wish he wins this election and this country goes down the drain along with me and the rest of stupid liberals.

Robert   September 17th, 2008 12:25 pm ET

McCain is a phoney if he says he's going to do anything about the loss of jobs in this country. Let's face it, he followed Bush's job policies that loss this country thousands of jobs…and still is causing jobs to be sent out of this country.
He was in on giving big Corporations tax breaks even when it was obvious they were shipping work and our jobs overseas so they could make even more money using cheap labor.
McCain is a phoney!!

Mike, Syracuse NY   September 17th, 2008 12:25 pm ET

The US has the second highest corporate tax rate in the world. Obama wants to raise corporate taxes. What's going to happen when he does? They'll move factorys and jobs overseas. Duh. Obama IS a doofis.

rob from York, PA   September 17th, 2008 12:25 pm ET

fundamental is not defined as people or worker. What dictionary is McCain reading? Did he flunk english?

Matt in Pittsburgh   September 17th, 2008 12:24 pm ET

i'm one of those bitter pennsylvanians that Obama insulted while talking to a group of fringe liberals in San Francisco. PA is turning redder by the day. It is now a toss up state. Run all the ads you want. the fact in PA is that we have extremely high tax rates and companies would be foolish to stay here under any conditions.

Remember
Josef Stalin was a community organizer
V.I. Lenin was a community organizer
John Goti was a community organizer
Al Capone was a community organizer

great company, eh? I'll stick with the governors.

Reagan   September 17th, 2008 12:24 pm ET

Oh GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!

My husband and I both lost our jobs in 2005 due to our corporation going international. It's called NAFTA! This is the brainchild of Democrats not Republicans.

But thank goodness for the fundementals of this countries economy we both are working again and making twice as much income.

McCain/Palin 08

Rob   September 17th, 2008 12:24 pm ET

this thanks to Bush / McCain…….we need to start an penalize companies that send American jobs overseas

Stacy from Loudoun County VA   September 17th, 2008 12:24 pm ET

John McCain preaches “Country First”. But the problem is the country he is referring to is either China or India. His motto should be “Country (Club) First” so that his rich backers can continue to profit in a truly deregulated market place at the expense of the sovereignty of this country.

suzie   September 17th, 2008 12:23 pm ET

Get real people. If Obama were white, you would not vote for him, he would be laughed out of the election. It is hypocritical to cast your vote for him. Give us a real person, not a media hype wannabe. I would gladly vote for a black candidate or other minority if they had the credentials. I would have voted for Hillary, but now I am voting for McCain.

Brooke in PA   September 17th, 2008 12:23 pm ET

Obama can run all the ads he wants in PA, he'll NEVER win here. Ever.

Sarah.....and my last name isn't Palin!   September 17th, 2008 12:23 pm ET

ct voter   September 17th, 2008 12:23 pm ET

Why the hell would he support tax breaks to ship jobs oversea's anyway. The lobbiests have Mcsame by the balls!

rob from York, PA   September 17th, 2008 12:22 pm ET

McCain says the fundamentalists (like him) of the economy are strong. He lost count of the number of houses he has (because he has so many) and things are good for him and his friends like Phil Gramm (his chief economic advisor). McCain thinks we are just whining when we say the economy is going down the tubes. McCain is clueless. This is for real, Mr. McCain! Get a clue!

Karen - Missouri   September 17th, 2008 12:22 pm ET

mcCain, Bush, Republicans…our nation goes down the tubes every year a Republican pushes their agenda. Now we are paying the price DEARLY! To phrase Kucinich….WAKE UP AMERICA! McCain loves companies shipping jobs overseas. McCain has even pushed companies looking to Vietnam for workers and investments. McCain would be the worst disaster to this country since Geo. W Bush!

shadowgovt   September 17th, 2008 12:22 pm ET

Yup, his policies support this kind of thing.

MW   September 17th, 2008 12:21 pm ET

Don't forget to mention that McCain is currently pulling strings to give a major military contract to Airbus in Europe instead of an American company like Boeing. Not only does this NOT CREATE AMERICAN JOBS, but it is also a conflict of interest to have Europeans work on OUR military equipment. McCain and his buddies that he is working for have everything to gain by this move and Americans have everything to lose.

Accountant Guy   September 17th, 2008 12:21 pm ET

That's right Barack, expose McBush for who he really is!! THANKS BUT NO THANKS TO MCBUSH AND BRIDGE TO NO WHERE PALIN!!

Obama/Biden '08

Olivia   September 17th, 2008 12:21 pm ET

Obama blames McCain for all of the country's problems.

Who is dumb enough to believe this?

TerryDoRight   September 17th, 2008 12:21 pm ET

Obama that is the real" Change We Need", more negativity just like a true Chicago Style Political Campaign.. You learned well!

JusLaugh   September 17th, 2008 12:20 pm ET

I'm glad to see that Obama is pointing out the Mayhem caused by republicans as they link to McCain. It seems McCain is trying to fool the public into thinking he is not a republican at all. Maybe this message will resignate with voters.

Obama can get tough when he needs to and that's good to see from you dems.

Ex-PUMA for Obama   September 17th, 2008 12:20 pm ET

Compared to McCain's ads, these are not negative ads.

These ads are truth; McCain's ads are FLAT OUT LIES!

I used to live in Pennsylvania, near Weatherly. I had to move because there were no jobs.
I now live in another state and thankfully found a job. Not a good one but it's a job.
Thanks to John McCain and other reps like him, I no longer see my family and friends that I had to leave behind.

Hopefully Obama will bring the jobs back from overseas.
I vote for real change.
I vote for Obama

Ryan, Florida   September 17th, 2008 12:19 pm ET

Good. People in Pennsylvania need to understand that McCain might be great to have a beer with… he just doesn’t have a clue about the economy.

NO way NO MCshame   September 17th, 2008 12:19 pm ET

Fact check and CNN proved last night that all the ads Obama is running and has ran on Mccain are either historically true or presently true. But JMac's ads are either remotely half truths or out right lies. Who do you trust in shamble economic times like now? the truth teller or the lie spinners?
Make your choice for right Change for America

Rudy NYC   September 17th, 2008 12:18 pm ET

…and a similar thing happens when a public or goverment agency like a hospital is privatized. They layoff nearly all of the workers, who are usually union members with benefits.

Then, they hire workers for half the pay without benefits. Later on, the new privatized entity needs millions in a bailout. Eventually, the local government agency that used to own and manage the hospital must "buy" it back costing even more dollars.

Moral of the story. Don't let Republicans sell you on the idea of privatizing infrastructure.

Darryl   September 17th, 2008 12:18 pm ET

THIS IS TRUE:

The truth is that McCain, in 2005, helped defeat a Democratic measure that would have repealed tax incentives for companies who move manufacturing plants out of the country and to use the resulting revenue to help balance the budget. The authors of the amendment estimated that $3.2 billion taxpayer dollars could have been saved by eliminating subsidies to corporations who cut jobs in this country, many thousands of which are in Michigan.

Joe Regis   September 17th, 2008 12:17 pm ET

Pennsylvania wil go red. So goes Pennsylvania and so goes the nation. The way to Obama/Biden victory is through Pennsylvania Ave and then open the gate of the white house.

sophia nyc   September 17th, 2008 12:17 pm ET

GOOD. Slap Americans silly with these ads until they wake up!

Keep McWar/Failin' out of the White House

Maggie Muggins From Selwyn   September 17th, 2008 12:17 pm ET

I don't understand why an ad pointing out how a candidate voted on certain situations is an attack ad unless of course the candidate is himself ashamed of the way he voted.

McCain has a voting record in the senate of going against Veterans Affairs and Women's Rights like equal pay for equal work. If John McCain is not ashamed of the way he voted on these issues he should make it part of his platform as proof of what he stands for in American politics.

How can anyone disagree with these statements if you voted that way stand up for what you voted for and explain your position.

LET IT GO   September 17th, 2008 12:17 pm ET

I LOVE IT! YOU GO BARACK

Rose   September 17th, 2008 12:16 pm ET

And when Obama taxes those companies, more will close or move to another country and that will lose even more jobs. Why would they want to stay here and be taxed and taxed. Does Obama really think he is going to reap the benefits of taxing big companies, they know how to find tax write offs and I bet they will show more in donations instead of giving the tax to the Government. Obama has underestimated the smarness of large companies.

shannon   September 17th, 2008 12:16 pm ET

Obama lied to Pennsylvanians on NAFTA. Obama told them he would rewrite NAFTA…then after the vote…he told reporters that he was just "campaigning". He told Canada that it was just "politics".

How anyone in Pennsylvania can trust Obama is beyond me.

TKW- New Mexico   September 17th, 2008 12:15 pm ET

McCain has been running negative ads all the time. Why do you say that this is a negative ad? The truth hurts.

David, Silver Spring, MD   September 17th, 2008 12:15 pm ET

McCain didn't really do this, did he?

Please say he didn't really do this. I mean, wasn't he some kind of soldier or something. It would be a shame to think that someone who fought for the country would support companies who want to send jobs overseas.

Sure enough, he did it!

My gosh, McCain, what has happened to you??!!!

Maddy   September 17th, 2008 12:15 pm ET

B-B-But the fundamentals are strong!

Baze   September 17th, 2008 12:14 pm ET

Ouch! I love it, turn McCain's "experience" into a weakness. The Dems have adopted G.O.P. brain twists, but an element of truth does lie here. Deregulation allows companies to use whatever measures to out compete the other, including shipping jobs overseas. Nice touch with the Chinese stuff, god knows those hot blooded midwesterners aren't going to like the idea of China's increased say in the direction of this country.

ONE NATION

I Love my COUNTRY!   September 17th, 2008 12:13 pm ET

Keep them coming Barack, show people the truth. Atleast we know you don't lie. And John Mccain has voted for legislation that gives tax breaks to companies that ship jobs overseas and Barack wants to tax the companies that do ship them overseas. As an American, who wants a job and loves my country I will have to go with Barack. Mccain always says country first yet he does nothing at all when voting for this country. He voted against the GI Benefits bill, he voted against a bill that would have guarenteed equal pay for women, A decade ago, he champion deregulation of banking, insurance now he is all for it. COME ON PEOPLE! Jesus, he doesn't care. He may not be a bad guy but he is not right to lead this country.

Al   September 17th, 2008 12:13 pm ET

Even the smartest and most honest of people in the financial world would tell you the banking/ mortgage situation needs committees to work things out for both the present and the future. Short term proposals like obamas will only make things worse on down the road. Although I'm sure he doesn't care because he can't even think without a teleprompter.

Good for Obama, tell it exactly how it is.
Obama will put this country back on top again.

I noted that McCain has emphatically demanded that regulators must get financial statements from banks. I guess he doesn’t know that banks, thrifts, and credit unions have been submitting quarterly “call reports” to the regulators for decades. Those reports are very detailed, with full balance sheets and income statements, including the composition of their loan and deposit portfolios, delinquencies, revenues and expenses. Not only that, those reports are available on-line for anyone to see at FDIC.gov for banks and NCUA.gov for credit unions (of course, not available on-line to McCain).

You would think as a U.S. Senator he would know that. What has he been doing in Washington the last 26 years? But I am glad he is going to move regulation forward to the 1940s.

FreeNLovIt   September 17th, 2008 12:11 pm ET

"Our opponent wants to raise income taxes, and raise payroll taxes … and raise investment income taxes." – Palin

Independent groups say that's a stretch, arguing that most Americans would get a tax cut under Obama's plan."

Okay, HEY, DONKEYS OUT THERE… let people know that your plan will give Americans, a tax cut… stop letting the ELEPHANTS trash you and headline you as TAX RAISERS..

Republicans Hate America   September 17th, 2008 12:10 pm ET

CNN and MSM Why are you not promoting this ad like you do all of McCains?

America think for you   September 17th, 2008 12:09 pm ET

The reason why our economy is crashing is because of Iraq all the money that was supposed to refuel the economy are been sent to Iraq while the economy is let alone to die. The consumers have no confidence in the market that is mean they will not spend and again the economy will struggle. John McCain does not understand that simple economics formular and stated that the economy is strong. I know that McCain pocket is strong because he is a rich man. But, our economy is not strong.
