Palin calls Obama's economy attacks 'unfair'

Gov. Palin discussed the economy Wednesday in her second television interview with a major national media outlet.
Gov. Palin discussed the economy Wednesday in her second television interview with a major national media outlet.

(CNN) - Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin said Wednesday it was unfair of Barack Obama to attack John McCain after the Arizona senator said the fundamentals of the economy remain strong hours after a major investment bank filed for bankruptcy protection.

“Well, it was an unfair attack on the verbiage that Senator McCain chose to use because the fundamentals, as he was having to explain afterwards, he means our workforce, he means the ingenuity of the American people. And of course, that is strong and that is the foundation of our economy," Palin said in an interview with Fox News, her second sit-down with a reporter since being named to the Republican presidential ticket nearly three weeks ago.

“Certainly it is a mess though, the economy is a mess," Palin also said. "And there have been abuses on Wall Street and that adversely effects Main Street."

Less than 12 hours after the announcements banking giant Lehman Brothers went bankrupt and Merrill Lynch was being sold, John McCain told a Florida crowd, "People are frightened by these events - our economy, I think, still, the fundamentals of our economy are strong."

The Obama campaign immediately pounced on the comment. McCain said later in the day the strength he was referring to was that of the "American worker."

we haven’t forgotten that McCain is one of the Keating Five, the senators igniting a major political scandal as part of the larger Savings and Loan crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s……

people open your eyes... in the last 8 years Republicans have been destroying the economy. started with Enron, Worldcom, a deficit nation (while Iraq is having a surplus... how much dumber can you get?) and now as you see what's going on with Freddie, Fannie, Lehman, AIG... and you want to vote for them AGAIN???

why haven't we heard anything about McCain's involvement with the S&L crisis of the 80s? Again, it was all about deregulation, greed, crime, and bad judgement. What does the Keating 5 story tell us about John McCain?

I Wonder if Gov Palin ever heard of the WATERGATE affair from the Nixon days – he to tried to stonewall on the investigation and history tells what happened as a result ot the stonewalling.

Does this lady really have a degree? She cant even answer a question properly. I mean read these quotes and tell me if you think these are coming from a graduate/governor/hopefully not future VP:

“Certainly it is a mess though, the economy is a mess," Palin also said. "And there have been abuses on Wall Street and that adversely effects Main Street."

"Certainly AIG, though, with the construction bonds that they're holding, and with the insurance that they are holding, very, very impactful to Americans," she said. "So you know, the shot that has been called by the feds, its understandable but very, very disappointing that taxpayers are called upon for another one."

And we expect this lady to interact with other foreign leaders?? Give me a break...

Palin is quickly becoming the Typhoid Mary of political discord. Is there anything this woman won't gripe about??? She reminds me of my ex, breaks agreements immediately after making them and constantly gripes about everything. She is every man's nightmare!!!

She's a joke, plain and simple.

When the market bottoms out around 9000, McCain will look like a weary reminder of the last 8 years and everyone will just look at this woman and, in a moment of clarity, ask themselves where the hell she came from.

Obama/Biden '08. Only because it's best option we have on the table.

McCain has no economic policies except for the Bush policies he has endorsed for the last 8 years.
Although to his credit he is moving toward Obamas positions lately.
Better man to follow, John, better man to follow!

WAAAA!!!! McPain'lin needs to go back to Alaska and shoot some critters.

What is unfair is how ignorant all of us Americans look to the rest of the world based upon the GOP's selection of a VP candidate.

Out of 300 million Americans, Sarah Palin is the best we can do? How sad we are. We have become a country hijacked by a minority of radical, fearful, and stupid people. And Sarah is leading the charge!

Please voters remember this is not just about you. Some of us have jobs that will remain irregardless of the economy. However, due to increase cost of living our salaries will buy less. Unfortunately, we have those poor blue collar workers that will most likely lose their jobs which will result in more foreclosures and homeless families. We need solution to problems. Our country is in dire need of change/reforming. We need answers and solutions, we need truth. We need to given substance so that we all can make informed decisions. We need everyone including the media to provide the americans with no spin, with facts so that when we all vote we can vote knowing that our decision will indeed be based on keeping our "country first". This election is most critical for the entire USA. We all need to stop the bickering and DO THE RIGHT THING!!!! We all need to be saying loudly "NO MORE LIES, NO MORE SPIN JUST TRUTH!!!!

Palin saying Obama's attacks are unfair is like a child saying that he has too much homework.
I've got two words for you Palin,

    GROW UP >:(

You are right Governor Palin. It was an unfair and stupid attack !

Fear plays a huge part in the market, and Obama has been stoking it!

Americans need confidence to believe that this is a temporary problem, and it will right itself! America has weathered much worse!

Obama is very naive and extremely self-seeking to politicize a crisis! :(

If that is what he meant then that is what he should have read. If you watch McCain give speeches he reads cards on a podium- these words don't flow freely form his mouth which at least might expain why he would misspeak.
The Senator for Arizona is as out of touch with America as GW and the fish lady from Alaska
