Palin calls Obama's economy attacks 'unfair'

Gov. Palin discussed the economy Wednesday in her second television interview with a major national media outlet.
Gov. Palin discussed the economy Wednesday in her second television interview with a major national media outlet.

(CNN) - Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin said Wednesday it was unfair of Barack Obama to attack John McCain after the Arizona senator said the fundamentals of the economy remain strong hours after a major investment bank filed for bankruptcy protection.

“Well, it was an unfair attack on the verbiage that Senator McCain chose to use because the fundamentals, as he was having to explain afterwards, he means our workforce, he means the ingenuity of the American people. And of course, that is strong and that is the foundation of our economy," Palin said in an interview with Fox News, her second sit-down with a reporter since being named to the Republican presidential ticket nearly three weeks ago.

“Certainly it is a mess though, the economy is a mess," Palin also said. "And there have been abuses on Wall Street and that adversely effects Main Street."

Less than 12 hours after the announcements banking giant Lehman Brothers went bankrupt and Merrill Lynch was being sold, John McCain told a Florida crowd, "People are frightened by these events - our economy, I think, still, the fundamentals of our economy are strong."

The Obama campaign immediately pounced on the comment. McCain said later in the day the strength he was referring to was that of the "American worker."

Palin really is like watching a bad sci-fi movie. You know it's not real and you still laugh.

But, I shudder at the thought of her in the White House.

I know of NO women who would vote for her and McCain.

How can the "ingenuity of the American workforce" be "strong" when unemployment keeps growing and jobs are still being outsourced??
    Backpedal on that one!

Someone needs to tell the Republicans that McCain will be president and Sarah only job as the VP is to be the tie breaker in the senate and
step in to be the prez if that person dies! (doubtlful since his mom is 92 and looking good! I wonder how that Pit Bull with lipstick gonna shake things up with a democratic controlled senate! She threw the old boy network out so she could get her own old boy network in! Sarah Palin was open to the investigation so lets get it done! If we wait until after the election and McCain wins then the tax payers will be responsible to pay all the legal fees to get her impeached! When will America learn their lesson! This has been the most corrupt administration and this country deserves someone to be honest which apparently Palin is not! I use to like McCain(not his policies) he is the ultimate sell out and will do anything to get elected! The whole hacken in the her e-mail WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! I am sick and tired of hearing her WHINE!! She is playing with the BIG DOGS and she better buck up and start acting like a big girl! This is not a sexist statement because I am a woman!

You're pathetic. You have no problem smearing and lying about Obama, but he repeats what McCain says, word for word and you say it isn't fair.

What isn't fair is that you and your suger daddy have a chance of winning this. Now that isn't fair!

Palin states, “Certainly it is a mess though, the economy is a mess,”

Well honey , do tell! Now tell us what you are going to do and don't try to convince me greed is the problem. Wall Street is the epitomy of greed and it makes this country great. The problem is not greed but the deregulation your new best buddy John McCain insisted on voting for and has resulted in "the mess."

Is this the best candidate the Republicans could dig up to run for VP? I read somewhere the 6 candidates ahead of her on the list quickly turned down the offer. LOL!!!

Here is what Palin definition of unfair is:

UNFAIR- 1when someones economic plan is better than yours
and the only way to save grace is by put-downs

I guess if the republicans attack the wussy Obama, they are being too negative. If they say politely, like Sarah Palin, that Obama is wrong to attack McCain, they are accused of being too soft.
The main idea is that Obama was wrong to attack McCain's choice of words.

  17. Sarah Will Be Impeached

Don't worry America, if she becomes president, she will be impeached in a New York minute. There will be a special election put together so quickly your head will spend. No one will ask any questions, we'll just run to the voting boothes.

The country will have to protect itself- and putting an idiot in charge is irresponsible. I only wish someone had advised John, he seems to be in the dark.

McCain's economic ad- 30 seconds of tough talk, with ZERO solutions on how to fix it. Obama's economic ad- 2 min. explanation of a broad strokes plan, with a link to his site where the full plan can be read. I ask you- which of these candidates is all talk?

    unfair? are you kidding me?

    it's POLITICS. get over yourself.

why is mccain so dumb? i really can't comprehend this. he's getting to be more and more like bush every day... you would've thought after all the backlash the first time he said that the fundamentals of the economy were strong that he would've learned. but NO, he not only repeats this ridiculous statement, he then has to CLARIFY himself because people freak out all over again!

insane. if mccain gets elected, i swear i'm moving out of the country because not only do i not want eight more years of bush, i also don't want to live in a country whose people are asinine enough to elect mcsame.

The economys a mess all right, Sara. Your stupid party deregulated all these crooks and now the chickens have come home to roost. One of the architects of this mess is McCain's chief buddy, Phil Graham. You don't have a clue on this mess. I think you actually believe the lies you have been telling.

Obama scares me more everyday, I do not think he can handle the huge task that is awaiting the next President. He had to take two vacations during the primary season.

Big deal, he scares you because of THIS??? Get your head out of your arse. This country is going into the toilet fast and you're main argument is that he took a vacation during the primaries??? Palin can't even formulate a coherent sentence. Yep, it really seems that she can secure the future of this country both, what was it you said.......domestically and abroad. I guess seeing Russia from her State qualifies. Oh...that and constantly lying.
