Palin calls Obama's economy attacks 'unfair'

Gov. Palin discussed the economy Wednesday in her second television interview with a major national media outlet.
Gov. Palin discussed the economy Wednesday in her second television interview with a major national media outlet.

(CNN) - Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin said Wednesday it was unfair of Barack Obama to attack John McCain after the Arizona senator said the fundamentals of the economy remain strong hours after a major investment bank filed for bankruptcy protection.

“Well, it was an unfair attack on the verbiage that Senator McCain chose to use because the fundamentals, as he was having to explain afterwards, he means our workforce, he means the ingenuity of the American people. And of course, that is strong and that is the foundation of our economy," Palin said in an interview with Fox News, her second sit-down with a reporter since being named to the Republican presidential ticket nearly three weeks ago.

“Certainly it is a mess though, the economy is a mess," Palin also said. "And there have been abuses on Wall Street and that adversely effects Main Street."

Less than 12 hours after the announcements banking giant Lehman Brothers went bankrupt and Merrill Lynch was being sold, John McCain told a Florida crowd, "People are frightened by these events - our economy, I think, still, the fundamentals of our economy are strong."

The Obama campaign immediately pounced on the comment. McCain said later in the day the strength he was referring to was that of the "American worker."

How did she use the word? It's a word, but did she use it as an adjective?

Citizen Watch: how DARE you say that college students do not have anything invested in this country?? What about the college students who are facing $100,000 in student loans after graduation? What about the college students who will be looking for jobs that are increasingly hard to find? College students are the FUTURE of America, and they have EVERYTHING invested in this country. That is precisely why so many of them support Obama. I'm disgusted by your comment.

I'll tell you what's unfair Palin - McCain making gaffe after gaffe after gaffe after gaffe for months on end and the media doesn't delve one inch into it while, if Obama sneezes on somebody, that gets talked about 24/7.

I still remember that Iraq/Pakistan gaffe by McCain and no one called him out on it. If that were Barack? lol.

Sarah if you can't handle the heat, go back to Alaska where it is below 20 degrees for half the year and where you can wait for the end of times like your church talked about.

Screw the debates, Nov. 4 better get here soon so I can vote for Obama/Biden and put these crybabies out of their misery!

    Obama/Biden 2008/2012.

The fact that you're going to be a heartbeat away from presidency is pretty unfair, too.

What? You say this was in an interview on Fox news?
That is what they call their news? An interview with Sean (little ball of hate) Hannity, the high school drop out? Please tell me this wasn't their news.

All you guys criticizing the Republican/Mccain plan for the economy, let a non-Republican ask you some questions.
First, who creates jobs, business or government?
Second, what creates wealth? (Trick question: Answer: Manufacturing, not banking, real estate, or similar.)

Palin wants to increase regulation to get the government out of the private sector? She could be our secret weapon incase the machines take over, she'll fend them off with cyclical paradoxes.

Somehow John McCain managed to pick as VP the one person in America who knows less about the economy than he does.

    TO PALIN 2012:

If John McCain wins the election this year, is he not going to run for a second term in 2012? He's just gonna hand the torch to Sarah Palin???

  17. Truth Be Told

So because she's a girl, we're supposed to listen to her cry? Unfair...At least Obama tells the truth. All the McCain-Palin camp do is lie. The truth hurts..and the Republicans deserve a strong dose of the truth the American people, like myself face everyday. Somewhere, some mother is crying because she lost her job and can't take care of her kids...and Palin is crying because holding the Republicans accountable is unfair? Why don't you go back to Alaska and stop dodging your criminal charges. THE REPUBLICANS ARE ALL CRIMINALS AND LIARS!

You are one stupid person Ms Palin. Workforce is not the same as the economy's fundamentals. It sounded stupid when McCain tried to dig himself out of that hole, and you sound even more stupid when you repeat it. Do you actually listen to the words they tell you to say or are you just a mouthpiece?

Why don't McCain and Palin have a 3rd Investigation started, and undertake to cooperate now, only to decide tomorrow in their latest flip flop that they will no longer co-operate – thereby wasting more on the taxpayers' maney. What the hell is going on in Alaska. Sound more like Harper Valley PTA in and FLDS community.

Sarah: Did you say "unfair." My goodness, you never seek to amaze me with your bizarre comments. I see now why you've chosen Sean Hannity to converse with. Certainly, it is in your best interest to stay away from people who really do appreciate your less than intelligent dialogue. Remember, to take your lipstick with you.
