Palin takes first impromptu question from national press

Gov. Palin campaigned in Nevada last weekend.

Gov. Palin campaigned in Nevada last weekend.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (CNN) - Sarah Palin took her first impromptu question from a reporter traveling with her campaign Wednesday while shaking hands at a restaurant called Karl's Inn of the Barristers in Cleveland.

A pool reporter from the national press corps asked Palin's reaction to the federal bailout of insurance giant AIG.

Palin said she is "disappointed that taxpayers are called upon to bailout another one."

"Certainly AIG, though, with the construction bonds that they're holding, and with the insurance that they are holding, very, very impactful to Americans," she said. "So you know, the shot that has been called by the feds, it's understandable but very, very disappointing that taxpayers are called upon for another one."

The reporter asked Palin if she had plans to come to the back of the campaign plane to chat with the reporters who cover her as she campaigns around the country.

"We're getting lonely back there," the reporter said.

"Are you getting lonely?," Palin answered. "Gee, yeah, come on up then!"

When Palin entered the restaurant with her husband Todd, she introduced herself to about 10 patrons as "Sarah," and told them, "Excuse me for interrupting your meal." It was Palin's first retail campaign stop since the day McCain tapped her as his running mate.

I can't wait til she starts fielding questions on the utter inaccuracy of every statement she's made pretty much since joining the ticket. What's funny to me, is that the canned answers her handlers spoon feed her to memorize make her sound like she lacks more credibility than she would if she just answered with the honest sarcasm and derision she's normally capable of...

I read that "Palin Opposes Alaska Native Life, Tribal Sovereignty and Voting Rights" is this information true ? Would the issues of who has the right to vote here in the United States part of that reform Palin and McCain are speaking about? I just want to know the truth!

Again she shows her ignorance and her playing of the lines fed to her by McCain and the campaign.
Had the bail out not happened we would all be living in cardboard boxes right now. The issue is that there is no set policy, and at least in this bail out it is set up so that the money may be rcouped..unlike the others. You would think that someone running for office would know that and add that to the comments....she is useless.

Anyone who votes republican (unless you're making over $250,000 a year), is a fool. The GOP has shown time and time again that "less government" really means less worries from corporations who rape anyone who is not wealthy. The GOP has advocated "trickle down economics" since the beginning of the 20th century, and it ALWAYS kills the market whenever the GOP is in control and preventing market regulation. Who benefits? The rich cats in the GOP and their corporate allies. Who loses? Everyone else, including those poor deluded evangelical conservatives who believe that because the GOP whispers all the right buzzwords about abortion and school prayer, that the GOP is looking out for their best interests. Look at the billions of dollars taxpayers are having to dish out to corporate bankers so that the CEOs can attend GOP functions in style. A vote for McCain is a vote for your own personal poverty. Think about it.

Wow! Let's not set the bar too low now, folks. She is as dumb as they come and as corrupt as the current administration. Is she not smart enough to realize she's being used? How sexist is that? A prop and ploy and blow up doll toy!

McCain's worst nightmare. He can't hide Palin forever but he knows as soon as real questions start being asked, she will show how clueless she is.

The only thing McCain has going for him is his campaign has masterfully played the main stream media. Can he continue to use them for another month and a half?

Okay let me summarize this blog.

"insurance that they are holding, 'very very' impactful"
"hot that has been called by the feds, its understandable but 'very, very' disappointing"
"Are you getting lonely?," Palin answered. "Gee, yeah, come on up then!"

So all I am reading here is: very, very, very, very and "gee"

Umm, Sarah, it's your running mate and his cronies who, particularly Phil Gramm, who supported deregulation of the financial industry. They allowed this to happen. And now suddenly McCain wants to reform Wall Street? I don't trust a word he says.

and it was a good answer. I agree with her 100%, it's a shame we had to pay for it...I understand why it had to happen but it's still a shame.

  25. REAL Change

SO this is suppose to make up for her being off LIMITS for weeks? Did she do this because everyone is seeing she is a liar and a pone for McCain, because everything he said about her is are LIES. Why did it take her to do what she should have been doing since she excepted VP position. Polls are not praising her like it was so the Republicans TOLD her she ONLY has permission to speak with a particular reporter on her plane and the ONLY question she can answer. I'm sure she has her NOTE CARDS near by.
