Prominent Clinton backer and Dem donor to endorse McCain

Lynn Forester de Rothschild was a strong supporter of Clinton's White House bid.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a prominent Hillary Clinton supporter and member of the Democratic National Committee’s Platform Committee, will endorse John McCain for president on Wednesday, her spokesman tells CNN.

The announcement will take place at a news conference on Capitol Hill, just blocks away from the DNC headquarters. Forester will “campaign and help him through the election,” the spokesman said of her plans to help the Republican presidential nominee.

Forester was a major donor for Clinton earning her the title as a Hillraiser for helping to raise at least $100,000 for the New York Democratic senator’s failed presidential bid.

In an interview with CNN this summer, Forester did not hide her distaste for eventual Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.

“This is a hard decision for me personally because frankly I don't like him,” she said of Obama in an interview with CNN’s Joe Johns. “I feel like he is an elitist. I feel like he has not given me reason to trust him.”

Forester is the CEO of EL Rothschild, a holding company with businesses around the world. She is married to international banker Sir Evelyn de Rothschild. Forester is a member of the DNC’s Democrats Abroad chapter and splits her time living in London and New York.

I would like to ask the american people a question. Would you leave a sick baby at home alone with your 5 five year old daughter or son? I imagine you would say right away that you would never dream of doing such a thing. Then why do you want to put a rookie presidential candidate in the top official office with a sick economy and expect him to know how to deal with such a situation. We cannot afford to take such a chance because the only way for america to go then will down the drain. America might just end up being in a situation like being in a third world country. Also, we cannot take a chance with our national security situtation because he could make things worse for America because of his inexperience.

Come on Americans, wake up and realize that Obama is not ready to deal with our serious situtations right now. Maybe in the next 4 – 8 years be might be redy but not right now. We cannot afford to take a chance to have a rookie in the of PRESIDENT to be trained on the job and then disaster happens. It does not matter if the VP is inexperienced because the man at the helm has the experience to lead us in the right direction. I can see things getter worse for us if Obama is elected and then what do we do. We ill have to wait another 4 years to make a change and that might be too late for America. We will be worse off than we are today so please wake up and realize that we do have serious times here and we cannot play with our lives.

She like many others just want to see the old Washington establishment hold on to power. Now that is elitism for you. I think people are just throwing out statements saying that Obama is elitist or sexist and not backing it up with facts or evidence. Come on people. Give the real reason why you won't support the man. You cowards!!!

  9. OBAMA GET'S IT!

Well let her go there was really no need to even mention this after all she plays not serious role in anything other than to keep up confusion! Let her go! That's nothing more than ALL the Republicans that are denouncing McCain and Palin. It is obvious by her comment she is doing so out of bitterness! And that says more about her than it does Obama. Her leaving only proves her to be disloyal to her party even more disloyal than Independents such as myself so let's just say when one leaves more will replace her. She knows McCain ain't worth a vote she'is just chasing a skirt, Palin!

    OBAMA / BIDEN

    YES WE CAN!

    CHANGE I BELIEVE IN

    CHANGE WE NEED!!!

Might want to show a picture of the backer, not Clinton. That's misleading. Hillary's got nothing to do with McCain. There's just this rich lady who once said she's for Clinton, and now says she's for McCain. Yay, glad we got that story out.

Ok, let me get this right, she "splits her time living in London and New York," but Obama is the Elitest?? If she is going to support the policies of John McCain, then obviously she was a Republican in Democrat's clothing!

"Forester is the CEO of EL Rothschild, a holding company with businesses around the world. She is married to international banker Sir Evelyn de Rothschild. Forester is a member of the DNC’s Democrats Abroad chapter and splits her time living in London and New York"

Uh, Mrs. Sir Evelyn de Rothschild, did you mean to say you're an elitist? Trying to protect your wealth, hence the McCain endorsement?

She is entitled to her opinion and vote for whomever she chooses. I like Joe Biden a lot, but many will feel that Obama should have chosen Clinton for his VP.

Uh....based on her background...she's calling HIM an "elitist"???

Please. Gag me with a silver spoon. More evidence that the Clinton's are up to something...

WHY? You are one of Hillary's greatest supporters... She says to back Obama and you turn away?

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY? YOU SHOULD ALL BE AFRAID OF MCCAIN/PALIN DURING THESE TIMES. MCCAIN DOESN'T HAVE THE MENTAL CAPACITY TO SOLVE THESE ECONOMIC PROBLEMS!

So Lynn Forester de Rothschild would rather leave her buddy Hillary
looking precariously like the "party splitter" that Pelosi warned the Clinton's to be very careful of? Gosh with friends like that who needs enemies. Hillary just got seriously thrown under the bus because she's going to take the blame for this not matter how her buddy Lynn spin this.
Hillary, you just got Benedict Arnolded!

    Democrats, you have a choice:

Elect the guy who agrees with George W Bush 90% of the time, or

Elect the guy who agrees with Hillary Clinton 90% of the time.

If Lynn Forester de Rothschild wants the next 4 years to look a lot like the last 8 years, then she should have never supported Clinton.

She does not trust Obama who has not given us any reason to not but trust McCain. McCain has yet to speak on the issues he constantly slurs Obama and he picks a running mate just to say he chose a woman. Clearly, there are more women out there who is more qualified than Palin and exemplifies diplomacy. Forrester people should question your motives. I don't think Hillary Clinton would agree with choice of who should run the country for next four years. You don't trust Obama but you trust a man who supported George Bush in committing our troops to an unnecessary war. A war who many families have lost their children and loved ones.

I, too, was an ardent Hillary supporter – However, the future of our country is more important that one's own dissatisfaction with losing a primary election. Lynn Forester de Rothschild should be ashamed of herself and her actions. If she were truly a Hillary supporter – I don't see how she can endorse the lying, "do-anything-to-get-elected", Bush/Cheney policy twin, McCain. Shame on you Lynn Forester de Rothschild! Shame on YOU!

CNN what you should be asking and pressing the McCain camp on is why Palin is refusing to answer questions about the investigation, why is she not having anymore press interviews, what is she hiding. We both know that if this was the other way around the media would have been hammering the DEMS!!!

Another McCain/Palin fool. Is she going to teach McCain/Palin about how to ready run this country instead of setting us backward. She don't care because she do not have to live here. People with two or more living spaces are not doing us no justice. Fool for McCain. I hope you like what he is cooking but for now I don't smell anything that I can eat.
