Prominent Clinton backer and Dem donor to endorse McCain

Lynn Forester de Rothschild was a strong supporter of Clinton's White House bid.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a prominent Hillary Clinton supporter and member of the Democratic National Committee’s Platform Committee, will endorse John McCain for president on Wednesday, her spokesman tells CNN.

The announcement will take place at a news conference on Capitol Hill, just blocks away from the DNC headquarters. Forester will “campaign and help him through the election,” the spokesman said of her plans to help the Republican presidential nominee.

Forester was a major donor for Clinton earning her the title as a Hillraiser for helping to raise at least $100,000 for the New York Democratic senator’s failed presidential bid.

In an interview with CNN this summer, Forester did not hide her distaste for eventual Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.

“This is a hard decision for me personally because frankly I don't like him,” she said of Obama in an interview with CNN’s Joe Johns. “I feel like he is an elitist. I feel like he has not given me reason to trust him.”

Forester is the CEO of EL Rothschild, a holding company with businesses around the world. She is married to international banker Sir Evelyn de Rothschild. Forester is a member of the DNC’s Democrats Abroad chapter and splits her time living in London and New York.

More and more are jumping the fence going to McCain. McCain leads BHO in all men polls. I would suggest you men that are undecided join the majority of us men and support the stronger leader McCain. As Lynn Forester says Obama does not have what it takes.

CNN please start reporting news – I think that both Reps and Dems can agree that a publicity stunt from a rich nobody does not qualify as news

This person calling anyone an "elitist" is like Homer Simpson calling someone an "ignoramus."

Hey CNN! You're a 24-hour news network. I bet there's some real substantive material (and substantive people) you could squeeze into that short window of time between commercials.

She is the CEO of a holding company with businesses around the world, married to a Rothschild, and can afford to split her time living in London and New York. ... Did she say Obama is an "elitist"? Wow...

I can tell there are more products of Bush's NCLB act than previously anticipated! The more posts I read, the more evident it becomes. Look, to me it doesn't matter what the poles are showing right now, it doesn't matter that the majority of White men and White women who've flip flopped time and again through out this race have been awed by a beautiful White woman who despite being in her 40's looks and thinks as if she's in her 20's, what matters is America as a whole, and if you don't believe in that, you believe in Bush, and like Bush, you need to get the hell out of my country, and someone who lives BETWEEN New York and London has a much easier time doing as such. Take you and your McCain vote back to London, then again, better not, they know McCain is a lair too and might mistake you for the same. How disappointing Rothechild, how disappointing the candidate you raised so much attention and money for who's asked you all to not drink the Kool-Aid, the main one is the first to the pitcher. I hope you have to face Hillary soon and explain why you went from bringing the country back to throwing it further in the toilet.

She should be should be given a dictionary with the term elitist highlighted. It is evident by her comments that she is unaware of the definition of the term. If there was a photo example of the term her face was be chosen as representative of the term before Sentator Obama's would. Mrs. Rothschild should have the courage of her convicts and tell the truth and say that she isn't supporting Sentator Obama because he doesn't look like her and he doesn't meet the standards for what a narrow minded person like her thinks that the president of the should think.

I love how 90% of African Americans are voting for Obama. And if ONE white person doesn't vote for Obama, THEY are racist.

Maybe it's the 90% of the African Americans who are racist!!!

Look, Obama has political views, and as you all know, people don't always (unless clearly you are black) agree when it comes to those political views!

People criticize whites for being racist if they say they are voting for McCain. Let's turn it around on the real racists, the African Americans!!!

You my friends are clearly voting based on race!!!!

She afraid that Obama is going to tax her windfall profits and overpaid executive salary, so she went running to Mr. I'm worth 100 million club to stand in the shadow of his tax shelter for the ultra-rich! Now who's truly the elitist?? Go eat some London crow after Obama is elected and dips a hand into your fat paycheck, along with Cindy McCain and her $100,000 outifts! Cindy McCains wardrobe allowance can feed a small city of impoverished people. Crow is on the menu this January!

Idiot is the only word I can used to describe her. And we wonder why women can't get ahead. So now she is going to support someone who doesn't care about the rights of women and selected a women as a charm bracelet versus someone that could actually run our country after he kicks the bucket. Good grief. Why would I care about her anyway – she can't make up her mind where to live.

Forester can stick it in her ear. Here's a high profile example of exactly the kind of "Bimbo Vote" that made it so difficult for women to get sufferage in the first place.

Good work Forester... Show the nation you weren't really voting for Hillary Clinton, you were simply voting for a skirt in the white house.

I got a better idea. Let's get some Playboy Bunnies in the White house. They may be as hollow as Palin – but at least they make no pretense about it. Besides, they are even more entertaining!

This is exactly what scared me about the rift between Obama supporters and Clinton supporters. BUT if you are a democrat – WHY ON EARTH would you end up supporting the republican party?! Write Hillary in, don't vote – but don't give the republicans control to degrade America further!!!

So this idiot doesn't see a reason to trust Sen Obama but she trusts McCain??? For Christ's sake, Obama and Clinton's campaign on issues were almost identical......she's racist because there's no other explanation for a Dem to vote McCain.

Let me get this straight, her reason for disliking Barack is that he is an elitist. With her riches, isn't she an elitist...and isn't John McShame and his wife also elitists....one hundred million times over...and seven houses. She is an idiot and a racist. Time to boycott their business and interest.
