Sen. Joe Biden continued to slam McCain for his economic plan Thursday.
Sen. Joe Biden continued to slam McCain for his economic plan Thursday.

CANTON, Ohio (CNN) – On the second day of his two-day swing through Ohio, Joe Biden continued to slam John McCain for his economic plan and lack of support for financial and health care regulation, calling the Arizona senator’s answers for the struggling economy “the ultimate Bridge to Nowhere.”

“John McCain literally stands alone now," said Biden at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, speaking on the museum’s Astroturf field. "Even with Bush, [he] stands alone now in saying the economy and the fundamentals are strong." "He is totally out of touch with the problems of average people.”

On Wednesday, White House spokeswoman Dana Perino refused to comment on McCain’s Monday remark that “the fundamentals of the economy are strong.” She said the White House didn’t want to become “part of the game,” adding, “We are in a position of strength to deal with this crisis.”

Biden painted McCain as a latecomer to financial regulation, a position the Delaware senator says is still at odds with McCain’s proposed health care plan.

“As [John McCain’s] saying he’s going to change and clean up Wall Street, re-regulate them rationally, he is calling for the effective de-regulation of the insurance industry,” said Biden. “How many of you trust your HMOs to make your decisions? How many of you trust your health insurance company if they didn’t have to listen to the state legislatures and tell you what they have to provide?”

“If you look at John McCain’s answers for the economy, and we’re in such desperate shape,” Biden continued, “[They’re] the ultimate bridge to nowhere. It’s nowhere. It takes you nowhere.”

Whoa….Joe ain't playing….. Let's go people the time is now. Make sure you vote OBAMA come rain or shine, I don't care if there is a long line for hours. Your vote counts. Obama and Biden is working hard for us. Don't let them down!

Biden, you should know that propping up Obama the "arrogant dilettante" with "dos caras" —"two faces" has reduced your integrity and credibility significantly! :(

Obama has not demonstrated the experience, humility, servant leadership, relational skills, judgment, courage, stability, integrity, moral center or core values to be president of the United States of America! And, his constant lies are beyond belief!

So, this former democrat and Hillary supporter will vote for McCain/Palin 08! :)

The bank crisis is basically caused by greed of the market and the rich. Then on the other side Americans like plastic things called credit cards.
You spend and spend non-existing dollars. Humm.. Credit cards are through banks which get bigger loans against your credit to loan out more non-existing funds to other stupid Americans. See the cycle is not just Wall Street or corporations taking risks without common sense , it's also people wanting what they can't afford today or next month on their low income. So the problem starts with you , the bank, the rich morons, politicians .. every walk of life ..human that is in this country is at fault.
The blame is on "us"! The Truth hurts so much we live to deny reality until you wake up to a fall Nation. "Blind until Death" the new American slogan.

Let's get specific on why their policy will fail.
We heard enough of bridge-to-nowhere.

A friend of my accountant said that Biden is an idiot. and so is Obama/

Now that is a stretch.

The market is soaring today so I give that credit to McCain

Rob   September 18th, 2008 5:03 pm ET

To borrow from the woman whom Obama did feel was as qualified as Biden to be his VP pick, accepting what Biden, Obama, and all you posters who are stunning examples of lib lap dogs have to say requires a suspension of belief, rational thought, and any intelligence.

The Obama campaign resorts to outright lies and misquotes, taking things out of context, to scare voters. Instead of saying what exactly you'll do when you say 'CHANGE', you have your lackeys commit illegal activities hacking into email accounts. You lack any substantive policies or plans so you resort to dirty tricks, illegal actions, and crying and complaining when you don't get your way. The only thing you'd change is you'd make America topple from being the best country in the world.

i thought American people will be fooled by the pretty face.
i am impressed that they can clearly see Palin has no foreign policy credential.
At least Hagel did not lie about it. you have to give him some credits.

If I was an independent I differently would not WAST my vote on a losers like a JHON McCAIN and SARAH PALIN ticket. Nether has not an idea about the economy or anything of how to fix the economy. They can only give more of what the Republicans have been giving for the last 8 years. I lived through the Reagan 8 years and then the daddy Bush 4 years and it was not nice. Pleas vote for the Obama/Biden ticket you want regret it. I would not listen to Lou Dobbs.

McCain = no change

SONGBIRD MCCAIN   September 18th, 2008 4:50 pm ET

I like McCain…he used to be a man of conviction and principle…he reminds me of my grampa…but he is a little out of whack, will do and say anything now to be elected and frankly with his talk of the draft and his belligerent tone, he is just too risky to have in the White House.

I like Palin…she's pretty and kind of funny. She has a quirky accent and all but I don't want Palin anywhere near the White House. She is a religious fundamentalist whose extreme views about creationism just don't inspire confidence in her judgment. She seems like she would be even worse than Bush.

No way, no how

To all you "tunnel" thinkers:

Just because McCain is pro-life, you're going to vote for him?
Just because McCain is against same-sex marriages, you will vote for him? That is absolutely ridiculous, you need to think of the future of this country which your children will inherit. To the military service-member lashing out at those that oppose the military???? What? We oppose the WAR. And regarding Obama, you do not need to have military experience to be qualified for President. What he does understand is the fact we wasted over a trillion dollars which could of been allocated to something more substantial.

Obama/Biden gives us the best chance of progression. Period.

Janine   September 18th, 2008 4:15 pm ET

I hate to break it to everyone Democrats and Republicans, but
there is no quick fix to the economy. Even with regulating the housing market now, what's done is done. We can blame Clinton for deregulation if we want to but fact still remains that Bush was in office when everything happened.

I find it amazing that Repubicans claim that they were trying to regulate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in 2003 but the Democrats stopped them. How can that be? In 2003 Republicans were the majority.

Chad   September 18th, 2008 4:13 pm ET

Voting to privatize social security is one of the reasons I would vote for McCain. SS is a ponzi scheme. Look it up. When Roosevelt enacted it, he set the retirement age to 65, but the average life span was only 61. Genius. Most of the people died before they retired. The system hasn't changed with the times. Average life span is > 73 now, yet most people can retire at 65. This is going to bankrupt our country.

It's A Sham ! Power trippin' Palin and Moron McCain together don't make a good Dan Quayle…and you know how deep I reached for that

ANA from Charlotte NC   September 18th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

read this and figure out for yourself. Qouting this from CNN article.
" According to a CNN fact check, Obama's tax plan would increase taxes in 2009 on the wealthiest 20 percent of households, while offering tax cuts for the other 80 percent. The largest increases would be on the top 1 percent of earners, according to analysis by the Tax Policy Center, a nonpartisan research group whose staff of experts includes former economic advisers to the White House and Congress under both Republicans and Democrats.

By comparison, the Tax Policy Center analysis says McCain would offer tax cuts across the board. Those at the top end of the scale would get the biggest percentage cuts under McCain, while households with the lowest incomes would receive the largest percentage cuts under Obama's plan"

"The Obama campaign gave $800,000 to ACORN – which they failed to report properly to the Federal Election Commission – to perform “get out the vote” work during the presidential primary season.
Obama is sensitive about his community organizing history because he doesn’t want the public to realize their tax dollars have funded his political career and that the radical agenda of his social engineering confrères is dedicated to repressing, not enhancing, personal liberties."

I thought that was the title of Biden's autobiography. My dog got more votes than him for president.

The only experience Biden has is that which he can steal from another's resume.

And everyone here commenting 'way to go Joe' and whatnot, the koolaid must really be kicking in.

It's gonna be great to watch him get decimated on Oct. 2. And it'll almost be as much fun to come back to these comments and hear you all whine and complain about how things were unfair to Biden. Can't face the facts – Biden's a loser, and Obama will be the loser.

Hey Barrack, don't ask Rezscko to sell your house yet, you'll need someplace to live after November 4th, seeing as it won't be in DC. You may want to ask you buddy Rev Wright if you can stay in his place, the big mansion in the neighborhood with all the rich white people he decries in his sermons.

Hypocracy in action – the Democrat mantra.

Debra   September 18th, 2008 3:19 pm ET

Thanks for giving Biden some airtime. This was an excellent choice compared to McCain's VP choice. Joe Biden is a straight shooter. Yes I think Hillary Clinton would have been an excellent VP but after all that was said and done in thier prospective campaign's, I think it would have been too much to ask of each of them.

Since the Democratic Party, The Chicago and DNC and the Big Money backers of machine control the Economy at the Moment, They are working to take the people to their knees and the country, In hopes of cinching the election.

Evident By what the Democrats in the Senate and congress have done and have Failed to do to on the economy.

It is Plain to see how the Started it off and played the people and the snow ball effect that has happened. With their scam to make the people desperate to insure votes for their take over of the government.
The detailed planning has gone on for many years of this.

they are Banking on the White house control, at all cost. But the cost of the people and Country, shows their concern and care are for themselves and their power monger play.

Obama has really done it now! He is playing GOD!!! If he gets elected he will sign the Freedom of Choice Act, which would overturn hundreds of federal and state laws limiting abortion, including the federal ban on partial-birth abortion and bans on public funding of abortion. He supports abortion as late as the THIRD trimester! There are only two ways they abort babies in the third trimester. One, is the use of forceps and pull out the baby piece by piece, I know that this is gruesome but it is the truth. The second way, is for when they are further along in the trimester, they birth the baby…and let it die! Obama is okay with this! He doesn't think that a premature baby is a person.
I wonder what he would have done if one of his own children had been premature. What if his own mother had been pro-choice.

shane algarin   September 18th, 2008 3:05 pm ET

A partisan fight is exactly what is called for on energy and our economy. Instead of the high gas price debate focused on drilling, make it on what Consumer Affairs says the real reason is: less competition. We are approaching 10 years of ExxonMobil. We are seeing the taxpayer bail out AIG because it is too big to fail. Where have big mergers gotten us? Obama, make it clear that you will invite all energy experts (oil, solar, wind, etc) to your meeting, the notes of which will not be secret. Make it clear that this happened because crony foxes, like Phil Gramm, were appointed to guard the hen house. Make it clear that with McCain we will get more of these cronies.

Tom   September 18th, 2008 3:05 pm ET

I would love to debate any of you hack liberals out there regarding the war. All you people do is jump on the band-wagon with the rest of the anti-war protesters, who don't even have a clue what this war is about. Like you really care about us (military). As a military member for 22 years and still serving, why don't you support the military instead of bashing them.
As far as the economy goes, you arrogant people seem to forget that the economy is cyclical, we (the US) have good years and we have bad years, regardless of who's in office. Do you expect the U.S. always to be wealthy and prosperous? This banking fiasco is both a Democrat and Republican burden, but at least McCain tried to regulate companies like Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae back on September 11, 2003, but the liberal democrats in office laughed it off, so thank you to all you Democrat supporter's for that. I don't have any trust in both parties right now, but someone tell me ONE thing significant that Obama has done since he's been Senator that would make him a good President? Nothing with the exception of being black and being a Harvard graduate. Do you really think he knows how to make decisions regarding the military? Everyone laughs at Palin about foreign policy. What does Obama bring to the table? What? He's been overseas? Big deal. You're putting too much emphasis on Palin, who isn't even running for President. Concentrate yourself on McCain and Obama on foreign policy, not Obama and Palin. I can't respect a man (Obama) ,who may be my next Commander-in-Chief, who never served in the military in any capacity (Active Duty, Reserve, or Guard) and tell me how I feel when I have to leave my family to go off to any war. He's a hack politician who will bring this country into Socialism with his idea of giving people money who don't pay taxes just because they breathe.

Jerome   September 18th, 2008 3:04 pm ET

Call me stupid, but I simply cannot understand how McCain can even be close in this race, after the last 8 years of economic and human disaster created by the Republican party and GW Bush.

What are those Americans who are supporting McCain, a clone of Bush, smoking?

It has to be some kind of local weed, because nobody in their right mind would want a repeat of the last 8 years, especially as the economy is quickly going down the tubes, unless they simply just don't get it.

For Gawd's sake folks wake up and see the light before it is too late!

John McCain met Sarah Palin once or twice, and talked with her a couple of times and he chose her as his running mate for the second highest office in the Land. Would a CEO of an International Corporation hire his next-in-charge based on this VERY limited type of knowledge. The Board of Directors would probably fire the CEO. John may as well have selected some person in met in a bar awhile back.

Well it would seem to me the Bush administration and the Republican controlled congress for six of the 7 1/2 years of that administration have broken all of these tenants. Government has never been bigger, Welfare?I guess it is bad except when it goes to corporations like big oil companies. Living within one's means? When Bush took office he came in when the budget was balanced, now we have the largest budget deficit in history.

Better think about what you say just a bit more.

Mike   September 18th, 2008 2:59 pm ET

Biden is an idiot and one of the worst VP choices in the last 20 years!!!

I love the Republicans on here accusing Obama and Biden of being socialists.

Maybe you guys aren't keeping up with current events but the executive branch of the US Government, headed by a Republican, has within the last week nationalized the two biggest mortgage companies in the world, the largest insurance company in the world, and will probably also need to bailout one of the largest brokerage houses in the world.

So, I guess the nationalization of corporations and welfare for your rich cronies doesn't count as socialization. Indeed, Chairman Mao, Hugo Chavez, and Vladimir Lenin would be proud of Mr. Bush right now.

Another thing, if Obama loses it is not racism. Stop trying to scare people. He will lose becasue he is out of touch. Even one of Hillarys supportors and a DNC member has come out for McCain. If Hillary was running I would vote for her. Also a fundrasier with a bunch of Hollywood morons will the markets are falling isn't showing you are for the average guy.

John McCain picked Sarah Palin for TWO reasons only. First, because she might appeal to women voters and second, her definite appeal to the Evangelical Right. I have to question his judgement on many issues and Sarah, with her background is a political timebomb.

Olivia   September 18th, 2008 2:40 pm ET

All I hear are "catch phrases" from the Obama people……..whether it's TV or radio or written…….the words and phrases are exactly the same by different people.

Another thing…..how can Biden critisize McCain as do nothing after years in the senate, when he himself was there for even longer? And lastly…because I read a lot and follow the progress of this campaign closely…….McCain's words are being misrepresented, misquoted, misconstrued, deliberately made negative by his oppenents.

Oh, and I used to think Biden was an ok guy…but…now that i see how hypocritical he can be……he ain't got my vote.

Chut Pata   September 18th, 2008 2:32 pm ET

That is a sexist remark. .

Remember when Obama criticised McCain's plan in McCain's own phrase on Hillary Cliton i.e. "Lipstick on Pig", it was declared sexist because Alaskan Miss Congeniality uses a lipstick.

Therefore using the term "Bridge to Nowhere" is sexist because it is Sarah Who's scandal.

Talking Heads: Road To Nowhere

Well we know where were goin'
But we dont know where we've been
And we know what were knowin
But we cant say what we've seen
And were not little children
And we know what we want
And the future is certain
Give us time to work it out

Were on a road to nowhere
Come on inside
Takin' that ride to nowhere
Well take that ride

I'm feelin' okay this mornin'
And you know,
Were on the road to paradise
Here we go, here we go

Chorus

Maybe you wonder where you are
I don't care
Here is where time is on our side
Take you there…take you there

Were on a road to nowhere
Were on a road to nowhere
Were on a road to nowhere

There's a city in my mind
Come along and take that ride
And it's all right, baby, it's all right

And it's very far away
But it's growing day by day
And it's all right, baby, it's all right

They can tell you what to do
But they'll make a fool of you
And it's all right, baby, it's all right

We're on a road to nowhere

If we had allowed McCain to privatize Social security, we would not be undergoing the largest bailout in history along WITH the money to AIG! The government would have to bailout the private social security, or else give subsistence to each and every senior. Social security was stable until a past Republican president took money out of social security to put it in the General Fund to help balance the budget. It was loaned to the general fund. Its time to put that back, and then social security would again be fiscally stable.

I wonder how Obama is going to make good on all his promises when the economy is in such a slump? He wants the government to provide everything to everybody, but still cut taxes. How is he going to pay for all this? Will he have his celebrity chums put on fund raisers to bail him out? Maybe Oprah can be in charge. We are in for a tough road ahead and I think it will take grit and determination. I see McCain as someone who can help the country weather out this financial storm. I am not into the hype and glamor that Obama enjoys displaying. I feel that when the microphone is turned off, there is another side of Obama that we are not seeing. Someone that is self-seeking, ruthless and egotistical.

At a time when the market has gone wild and is shooting itself in the foot, their only "solution" is giving more unnecessary huge tax breaks to the rich and letting the economy cure itself by some miracle. Everything for the rich: It's the Hoover-era 1920s all over again! Those policies were a disaster then and they're still a disaster today. These Republicans just never learn.

Me thinks you speak with forked tongue. Joe Biden's record is so much better than McCains, unless of course you look forward to privatizing social security and putting it into wall street (if a wall street exists when that is done). Oh, and McCain is the one who wants to tax the lower incomes more than the rich. Go on fact check to get your facts straight instead of listening to McShame.

McCain for pres—That thread is old and frayed.
The Democrats are up in the House and can propose legislation. The Senate is 49-49. They will have a hard time getting anything out and when they do, Bush vetoes it. He NEVER vetoed anything the 6 years the Republicans ran the store and look at the mess that legislation has gotten us into. He vetoes what the Democrats send and they don't have enough votes for an override. The Republicans are the ones stopping change.

Put in Obama and a Democratic congress and get some change going. REAL change not the right wing delusions I see on these posts.

I know this doesnt have anything to do with this story but cnn why are you not reporting on the ANTI-SARA PALIN RALLY IN HER OWN STATE OF ALASKA MADE UP OF DEMOCRAT AND REPUBLICAN WOMAN, AND WHY ARE YOU NOT REPORTING THAT 3 WOMEN RIGHTS GROUPS ENDORSED SENATOR OBAMA YESTERDAY!

S. Boatman   September 18th, 2008 2:01 pm ET

I Am Voting For Obama So Mccain And Palin Will Have To Pay More Taxes! Then Mccain Cant Afford 500 Dollar Shoes! He Will Have To Settle For The 450 Dollar Pair! Poor John. . . His Feet Are Going To Be Sore!

banderson   September 18th, 2008 2:00 pm ET

I like this Joe Biden guy. I would really like to see and hear a little more mention of him in the media. He seems to really have a quiet leadership quality that resonates and I hope the American people actually gets a chance to see more of it.

McCain for Pres.   September 18th, 2008 2:00 pm ET

As far as privatizing social security, President Bush asked democrats to give their suggestions if they didn't agree with his so they could fix the problem. Where were all their suggestions???? That was 8 yrs. ago. Looks like they talk the talk, but don't walk the walk either.

Gimmick FIRST   September 18th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

According to their own senior advisor, IF McCain and Palin would NOT be adequate CEOs for a company such as HP then they sure are NOT capable to be President.

I can’t wait until they ask Palin. She will probably respond “Oh, I can see the HP Building from where I live”

D   September 18th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

You have to be a total idiot to beleive McOut of Touch is going to change anything in this country. HE HAS A HAND IN THE CURRENT CRISIS. HE HAS BEEN IN WASHINGTON FOR 20 YEARS… WHO ARE YOU KIDDING? I can't wait until the debates where he will come face to face with the candidate that originated the "CHANGE" CAMPAIGN….

OBAMA/BIDEN 08…..

Obama/Biden = Real Experience, Serious Science, Competent Management, Constitutional Knowledge, Community Service Champions

McCain/Palin = Bush/Cheney = Incompetence/Religious Fanaticism

James in NJ   September 18th, 2008 1:58 pm ET

That's our Joe, sock it to em! You will make a fine VP!
As far as VP's go I say Romney should have been McCain's pick! The outcome would have been the same but at least it would have been interesting.

Barack and Joe in 08!
And Hillary for whatever position she likes(Supreme Court Justice)! I'm sure President Obama won't have a problem with that!

Peter (CA)   September 18th, 2008 1:57 pm ET

How can McCain clean up this mess that he helped to start? Sorry Senator but you're just looking like a hypocrite.

McCain's aides have refused to discuss his economic plan saying there is no reason to "put anything on paper right now". They are lying to the American voter. Don't let them fool you.

Tom   September 18th, 2008 1:57 pm ET

That's what I'm talking about. Go get him Joe!

Jean, MO   September 18th, 2008 1:56 pm ET

The Republicans can't back away fast enough from McCain and Palin. It's true, McCain and Palin do stand alone, and rightly so.

D from MI   September 18th, 2008 1:55 pm ET

SARAH PALIN IS NOTHING MORE THAN A PARROT … AND JOHN MCCAIN IS NOTHING BUT A BAKED POTATO THAT SOMEONE TRIED TO HEAT UP AND FRY …

Average Joe, Let's Go....   September 18th, 2008 1:55 pm ET

Obama/Biden 08

Can someone hand over the hammer and nail please!
Yes we can!

Tyrone Brown   September 18th, 2008 1:54 pm ET

Biden knows McCain better than Palin does (22 plus years vs 22 plus days).

Biden is more "for women" in this country than Palin has or ever will be.

Biden is the Vice President this country needs and Obama is all the wiser for choosing him as his runningmate.

Wish we could asy the same for No Way, No How, No McCain.

OBAMA/BIDEN '08

darko   September 18th, 2008 1:54 pm ET

The only reason that the utter crap and false statements coming out of this guys mouth aren't being shown is because no one is listening to him!

Tax breaks are to blame for the mortgage crisis? really???

Paying more taxes is patriotic? Seriously??? Giving to charity is patriotic…chew on that.

W Spivey Merritt Island, FL   September 18th, 2008 1:54 pm ET

I remember my uncle being in the same frame of mind as McSame and finally they came and led him away..Yea John, Dementia is like that, your memory is gone and now it is time for you to go and sit on the porch before you really try to get us in trouble.

Hello Mr. Vice President   September 18th, 2008 1:54 pm ET

Go Joe, go Joe, go Joe.

Vice President Joe Biden will make me sleep a whole lot better than Vice President Sarah Palin.

Obama/Biden 08

Peggy - TX   September 18th, 2008 1:53 pm ET

Obama and Biden simply inspire my confidence to guide America in a better direction. When Bush 43 first said the "R" word eight years ago, the economy spluttered and has never recovered. I recall Bush 43 saying he would keep the Dollar strong, yea right. And Bush 43 said that he wanted everyone to own a house, that worked out well…. We can not survive Bush 44.

When major decisions are being made, I want these two people, Obama and Biden at the helm becasue they see the world through the lens of main street, not just wall street, and can best direct the decision making process for the overall good of Americans.

Matt in Dallas   September 18th, 2008 1:52 pm ET

I can't wait to be even more patriotic next year and pay more taxes!!! Who knew that it didn't take me going to West Point and serving my country. In fact, per Biden, all I have to do is pay more in taxes and I'll be a HERO!!!! What a joke Biden. BTW, why isn't CNN reporting this crazy remark, it's all over Yahoo! and Fox News?

voter   September 18th, 2008 1:52 pm ET

The entire McCain-Palin ticket is a bridge to nowhere. McCain and Palin still have not addressed their plan for the economy. Oh yeah your economic advisor said you don't need one. scary

OBAMA ALL THE WAY-NJGIRL   September 18th, 2008 1:52 pm ET

HE IS RIGHT ABOUT THAT!!! The McCain-Palin ticket is DEFINITELY, WITHOUT A DOUBT, AND CERTAINLY A TICKET TO NOWHERE!!!

j.williams, san diego   September 18th, 2008 1:52 pm ET

people who are worried about Palin being one heart beat away from POTUS, should be MORE afraid of Biden being POTUS. He would be looking over his shoulder all day to see if Pelosi has an approving smile.

pat C.   September 18th, 2008 1:52 pm ET

I LOVE YA JOE! i wish the media would give you more time on the air. you are the strongest of all and would be ready to step up to the presidential plate immediately if anything should happen to president obama. sarah palin would be off hunting somewhere or laying in her tanning bed if there was an emergency.

Joan, CT   September 18th, 2008 1:51 pm ET

I really like Joe, he's the man. While everyone is looking at Sarah, and hoping she's got more experience than she's showing us, Joe is doing a yeoman's job.

McCain for Pres.   September 18th, 2008 1:51 pm ET

The DEMOCRATS have been in charge for 2yrs. What have they done??? Are you saying its only the republicans fault. They must be clueless as to what's happening in this country.

JOE KNOWS! You tell 'em, Mr. Vice President!!

Theresa Jones, Mesa, Arizona   September 18th, 2008 1:47 pm ET

Mr. Obama's economic plan is to spend, spend, spend. Being as deep in debt as we are, this is the last thing our Country needs. In addition, Mr. Obama plans more socialist programs. If our government would have complied with the Constitution of the United States, we would not be in this mess. Mr. Obama's plan is simply more of the same.

Jayden   September 18th, 2008 1:47 pm ET

Have you noticed? John McCain looks more and more confused.

VOTE OBAMA FOR A NEW DIRECTION

You sure about that?   September 18th, 2008 1:45 pm ET

and I'm sure the ultra socialism you want us to have will be much better, mr. biden

18 Million people voted for Obama to lead this country.

Based on his VISION not his experience.

Palin only got ONE vote and she has no vision (other than seeing Russia from her house)

Terry   September 18th, 2008 1:43 pm ET

Its amazing that Bush tried to establish an oversight commision in 2003 to oversee Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. The Liberal Democrats said nope, nope. Now the LDs are trying to blame Bush. This is amazazazing. Where's Harry Reid? Not in Washington. Where's Nancy Peosi? Not in Washington. Where's Bush? In Washington trying to do something. The LDs are only good at the blame game. The LDs have no answers. The LDs go in hiding when crisis hits. No wonder Congress has a 9% approval rating.

randy   September 18th, 2008 1:43 pm ET

biden will make an exellent vp and he is right the economy plan john mccain bush is trying to sale to american people is a bridge to no where.

lisa   September 18th, 2008 1:43 pm ET

Yeah!!!! That's what I've been trying to say……

Policies matter. Skin color doesn't.   September 18th, 2008 1:42 pm ET

He's right.

The Republican strategy of deregulation won't work right now.

Based on economic policy alone, Obama is the clear choice in this election.

TC   September 18th, 2008 1:42 pm ET

You can take the blinders off a republican, but you can't make them see.

Pathetic!

Palin and Mccain are trying to cover up the Alaska Troopergate investigation as well as the Keatin 5 Scandal! Obama Biden the Clear Choice in this Election

CM   September 18th, 2008 1:41 pm ET

Tell it like it is Joe.

Just because one is a POW and the other can see Russia from her country doesn't make them suitable to run this country.

Their judgement in recent times when faced with the pressing issues is laughable. No wonder they're running on personalities and not real problem solving.

J from DC   September 18th, 2008 1:40 pm ET

Good job Biden, and good reporting. The public need to see more of Biden. Oh yah, Biden, while you are at it, remind McCain that work related emails are property of the state.

Fabian   September 18th, 2008 1:40 pm ET

Biden; And you think letting the Government tell us what doctors we need to go to and the Gov. control our health is the great "fix-all"

You need to go back to that little slice of land you call Del. Have another drink!

Gorbashov - Long Beach, Ca.   September 18th, 2008 1:40 pm ET

McBush/Failin would have us privatize Social Security and put that money into the stock market. When is the media going to start talking about this?

As we have seen over the last few days that would be a disasterous idea.

Bad judgement once again!

Of course, I'm sure they will have another position by tomorrow.

These liars cannot be trusted!

For a 72 year old man he is still pretty nimble to be pulling off all of these FLIP-FLOPS!

Pathetic!!

The country cannot take four more years of these failed Republican Party policies!

Kel in Auburn, AL   September 18th, 2008 1:39 pm ET

Biden has really been doing his job as attack dog, and while Palin's been busy trying to define herself, introduce herself, and convince the American people that she's not a buffoon, Biden and Obama have been hammering them away.

As soon as the buzz wears off of Palin, the country will take a fresh look at the McCain-Palin ticket, and realize that these two really aren't what's best for our country.

Drew   September 18th, 2008 1:39 pm ET

we all love nowhere and building bridges to nowhere! shut up biden, its our tax money and McCain can do whatever he wants with it.

Michael   September 18th, 2008 1:39 pm ET

Hit'en Hard Joe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ines   September 18th, 2008 1:38 pm ET

Biden is right. Just hope this ultimate bridge doesn't go anywhere near Spain. McCain has kind of nixed relations with our ally there this week. What is going on with McCain?

Rudy NYC   September 18th, 2008 1:38 pm ET

That sound bite is gonna make the evening network news shows. It's got teeth! I had thought Obama's noting McCain's remark over the AIG mess about starting an investigation fell short.

Obama noted that remark was "typical" Washington. He should have also noted that McCain needs to study the problem to find an answer.

Accountant Guy   September 18th, 2008 1:37 pm ET

Good job Joe!! You and Obama are what America is about!! Keep up the good work!! THANKS BUT NO THANKS ON MCCAIN AND HIS BRIDGE TO NO WHERE VP PALIN!!

Obama/Biden '08

carlo   September 18th, 2008 1:36 pm ET

Don't let up, Joe. For all of you McCain supporters, just remember this: The man voted THREE times to privatize Social Security. Just imagine where your Social Security would be right now if he had had his way.

Susan   September 18th, 2008 1:36 pm ET

You can argue that Obama doesn't have a lot of experience, but neither did John F. Kennedy… Experience doesn't give you good judgment. Judgment is something that McCain lacks.
