don't worry guys
Harry Reid gave McCain a nice ad today

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid -- who also complained that he didn't know a bailout of AIG was in the works -- said Congress won't change laws immediately to address the rapidly unfolding financial crisis because "no one knows what to do."

straight from CNN
if no one knows what to do than how are obama and biden so sure that their socialist cravings will fix the economy? Fact is they won't. But no matter. Biden's gonna pull a kerry soon. I can feel it.

Obama's not leading b/c of credibility issues. Many people think he's all talk. This is why there's a debate as to who has more experience, BO or SP. Why else would people compare a Dem Presidential nominee against the opposing VP nominee.

I said yesterday that Obama would be 47 to McCain 44 by the middle of next week, looks like I may have been too (heh) conservative in that estimate. Good job Barack.

The biggest advantage for Obama is that the boost McCain got took the RNC convention and it took McCain picking a running mate that was supposed to be a game changer and the nail in the coffin and all kinds of other things. But now we've gotten to know Palin a bit, and her approval rating in polls is at about 40%. Ouch. And McCain doesn't have another convention, he doesn't have another running mate to announce, there are no rabbits left in the hat. Economic trouble is bad for a candidate of the incumbent's party, and will only help Obama's campaign. McCain is still wholly tied to Bush in the American mind.

This time last week, Obama supporters were wishing that the debates would get here and give Obama a boost. Now the McCain supporters have to hope against hope (heh) that the email chain letters they've been getting about Obama having poor public speaking skills are correct. They have to hope that McCain doesn't contradict himself in the debates like he has been on a daily basis on the trails, they have to hope that putting a ruined old man up against a vibrant young man won't have the same effect that the Kennedy-Nixon debates had, and they have to hope that Obama doesn't run rings around McCain.

Well, good luck to them with that, and I'm still faily positive that Obama will be our next president.

And I hear Hillary has been penned in for a Very important position - could explain why she was not nominated VP. Go get them Dems.

I have to believe people are smarter than falling for the lies, the cheating, the manipulation...

OUR ONCE GREAT COUNTRY IS IN THIS POSITION BECAUSE OF TOO LITTLE GOVERNMENT ON WALL STREET. THERE IS A BALANCE AND WE HAVE SWUNG TOO FAR TO THE RIGHT OVER THE PAST 8 YEARS.

I PRAY THAT THIS ECONOMY DOESN'T GET WORSE, BUT LOOKS LIKE IT WILL.

PLEASE, AMERICA, VOTE FOR OBAMA. I'M NOT HIS BIGGEST FAN, BUT HE IS OUR BEST BET.

McCain and Palin seem to think their jokes and the dodging of questions without giving concrete answers are funny. That woman gave Sarah Palin and open ended opportunity to share her views and wisdom on foreign policy and what did she do - tell an unfunny joke! The McCain campaign doesn't really think much of us by throwing Sarah Palin at us to vote for. She's not HRC and I don't care what she looks like because being VP is not based on beauty but brains. I think that Tina Fey line that all the Republicans had been repeating ad nausem about Russia being a neighbor of Alaska and that's her foreign policy experience really took the wind out of that sail and people are beginning to see how STUPID that statement is. This woman is a FRAUD and we can't give her or Sen McCain an opportunity to do to us what's already been done by Bush/Cheney!!! Think women of America, THINK!

n 2006, the Alaska state branch of the right-wing Eagle Forum asked gubernatorial candidate Sarah Palin if she was offended by the inclusion of the phrase "Under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance:

Not on your life. If it was good enough for the founding fathers, its [sic] good enough for me and I'll fight in defense of our Pledge of Allegiance.

The Pledge of Allegiance was written in the late 19th century by a fellow named Bellamy (a Christian socialist no less!) as part of an effort to improve the circulation of the magazine he was with at the time and generally improve the condition of American boyhood, about which a certain amount of fretting was then underway about their collective constitution and resolve (widespread at the time; this was roughly around the same time Baden Powell started the scouting movement on your side of the pond).

So that's 100-plus years after the founding fathers were doing their thing. And even then, the words "under God" weren't inserted until the cold war, the better to highlight the difference between America and the Godless Russkies.

This is widely known in the US. There's been a controversial legal battle here over the last few years, and every news-following American has a pretty good idea of most of the above facts. This woman is an idiot.

maybe the Palin Star is going dim...hopefully
maybe americans are coming to their senses to realize she speaks half truths and lies
she is also corrupt but republican lawyers are working behind the scenes to squash this investigation so what does it all add up to
more crooked republicans like Bush and Cheney
Wake up now Americans before your country is dragged down for another 4 years
that little scene where she interrupted McCain yesterday to say what a wonderful person he was blah blah blah... was likely all staged before hand.....shes just not that smart!!

This is too funny. The democratic machine in the South is now trying to "reform" voting laws to allow convicted felons and nonviolent drug offenders to vote. I wonder who they think they will vote for and why?

Any reasonable American that supports McCain-Palin ticket must be seriously considering withdrawing his/her support after hearing what Palin had to say when asked by a voter to give her foreign policy credentials.

Of coarse Palins lead is gone, instead of running with the
GOP brand, it's the LIERS brand.
A economy which McCain is partly responsible for has
tanked.
It's going to be difficult getting Sarah Palin elected to
the white house.

If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate's Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Envi ronment and Public Works and Veteran's Affairs committees, you don't have any real leadership experience.

If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you're qualified to become the country's second highest ranking executive.

I'm voting for Obama on his positions, but also I like the man. I like what he stands for, I like his background, I like his firm belief that he can make a difference. He's literally put ting his life on the line to run for the presidency, and he definitely has my vote. I'm so excited about voting in November, and making a difference.

I happen to believe that Barack will think about Americans more. Like us he is concerned about the country he's leaving for his kids. McCain doesn't know how many homes he owns. Ironic.

So tune down the rhetoric America and really think seriously about your choice. It will make a difference.

GOOD LUCK ..... MC CAIN/PALIN

Palin should have deferred that question on Foreign Policy as it is not only the VP that makes those decisions or even the President (should she become President) it all the Cabinet appropriate personnel will get together and decide on the best action to take.

Sarah .. be cautious ... good luck ... Hillary is out, we are all for you!!

Even though I dont make much of these polls since it's a very small sample of the voting pop, a 2% lead is better than being behind 2%.

I truly believe that after the debates that Obama's lead will increase but ultimately the election will lie in the hands of young and new voters who tend to favor Obama. If the nation has a high voter turnout, Obama wins this.

let's go out and vote!

Barack Obama attended Occidental College, but received his undergraduate degree in political science from Columbia University, an Ivy League member currently ranked 9th in the country by U.S. News and World Report. Obama also graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Harvard Law School, where he also served as President of the Harvard Law Review.

John McCain was ranked 894 of 899 at the US Naval Academy.

This is the third time I have tried to get a message in, but to no avail. I will try again and ask a simple question. Why were not the polling results of two of the good standard of polling not included. Rasmussen and Zogby were not in the group. Both have McCain ahead! One by five points. Check out the battleground states. Ohio, Michigan, Pennslyvania, Florida and West Viriginia. Pennsylvania is tied and Obama is carrying Michigan and losing all the others!

I love the continued use of "It's the economy, stupid!". Only an uneducated mindless robot would actually believe that voting for and electing a particular Presidental candidate will change the economy. Aside from that, the only poll that matters is the one held on Super Tuesday in November, and I am not referring to the infamous and incredibly inaccurate exit polls. I am talking about the one where you step behind the curtain and make that choice that is between you, God, and the counters. Lose the emotional charge and who makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside and vote for the one that logically is better qualified.

Its frightening to think that a man that benefited the most from a fallout on wallstreet can become our President. Its frightening to think that Fanny and Freddy who were run by Dems. literally ran it into the ground.

Its horrifying that a man talking about how bad the economy is just had a 28th. dollar a plate dinner and raised 9mill. when people are suffering in Texas and have lost their homes.

Its horrifying that a man with so many Gaffe's coming out of his mouth might be our next VP and who will over see foreign affairs.

The next frightening and horrifying Pres. and VP Obama/Biden.

Imagine, just imagine, if Barack Obama would be white instead of half-white, the election would be over already with Obama elected to be our next president in a landslide. The current polls would certainly show him with a 20-30 point lead over McCain.

The question is often asked as to why Obama is not further ahead in the polls. The answer that pundits fail to enunciate is the fact that he is half African-American.

Wake up America, we are no longer living in the 1940's.

Hey Lefties, do not get excited, it is only the beginning. When the
truth comes out about the Fannie Mae's etc. and who was in charge,
i.e, Raines,Gerlick, Ole Clinton appointees, who come out with milllions and they are responsible for beginning of this crisis ,and then, Obama has received lots of money for his run for Pres. Give me a break, calm down you lefties!

94 Votes by Obama on tax increases and he votes YES to all of them - dreaming won't make him qualified or for the American People...he fits in w/Hollywood.

Although I am glad to see the Palin effect wear off and people finally start to think about the issues it does reflect how useless polls are at this stage of the game unless we start to see a trend develop.

Right now just back and forth depending on the news of the week
