Trump endorses McCain

Trump also said Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin had rejuvenated the Republican Party.

(CNN) – Real estate mogul Donald Trump is endorsing Sen. John McCain: “I’ve known him. I like him. I respect him. He’s a smart guy and I think he’s going to be a great president,” Trump said Wednesday night on CNN’s Larry King Live. “I endorse him.”

Watch: Trump backs McCain

Trump also had praise for McCain’s decision to pick Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate. “I think she’s made a tremendous impact. The impact that she has had on rejuvenating almost the Republican Party, it’s been unbelievable.”

Trump also confided that he did not know who Palin was before McCain asked her to join him on the GOP ticket. “As soon as we got to see her and watch her, everybody’s impressed,” said Trump. “That really is to John McCain’s credit. What he did in this choice is amazing. . . . It was a courageous choice.”

Trump may have announced his endorsement last night, but he voted with his pocketbook months ago; campaign finance records show Trump, who has donated to McCain for years, and gave the legal maximum to the Arizona senator in May. The same month, the members of Trump’s family — wife Melania Knauss and children Donald Jr, Ivanka and Eric — also gave McCain the maximum individual donation allowed under federal campaign finance laws.

The New York mogul — who said Wednesday night that McCain was winning, but it would be a “different race” if Hillary Clinton were Obama’s running mate — was also an early financial supporter of his home state senator’s presidential campaign.

The party of the rich, has anyone looked at who Obama hangs out with and gets his money from lately. Trump knows a few things about good times and bad. Obama will be the least prepared least qualified president ever if this nation is short sighted enough to elect him. I pray they arent. Yes i said pray iknow that you think that is a dirty word but just like Gov. Palin I will pray that they dont.

Well it's McCain who is going to give him a TAX BREAK so this is a no brainer. Of course 5% of rich people would endorse McCain just for that reason. If they care much about the country and the people you would think they wouldn't care about their tax break but for the country but we all know you can't be filthy rich likes this while carrying for your country nor the people.

Nice going about looking after your investement Sir!

Like they say: "show me your friends and I will tell you who you are"

McCain does not know how many RealEsate he own in New York, Trump does not know his either....

OBAMA knows he owns only one RealEstate in the state of IL.

Trump, wait until your taxes goes sky hight when OBAMA takes office in Jan 09. John Mc will not be able to protect from your payback of the taxes and that time we want to hear and read your endorsement of Mc.
American people are not a fool Mr. Trump.

PANIC HAS STRUCK! The rich will have to pay taxes for the first time in 8 years if Obama is President. This is why we're seeing so many big wigs starting to endorse McCain. FACT: The rich protect the rich.

Of course Trump supports McCain. Why would the man support someone who will raise taxes on him over someone who'll cut them? This is a man who came to light during the era of trickle-down economics, and likely doesn't see what's really going on.

Trump: King of the ME generation! It's all about him and how much he can get in tax breaks.

Bill Gates and Warren Buffet, two men who are known for their generosity and philanthropy, support Sen. Obama. What has Trump ever done for anyone besides himself?

We've had enough corporate greed over the last 7 years. Let's restore our national soul. Vote for Sen. Obama. If nothing else, he knows the Constitution, taught it for 12 years. No more "signing statements!"

Of course a lacivious, rich, womanizing pig would endorse one of his own. Like it's going to make a difference.

This trump endorsement will in turn be trumped by the announcement that NOW will be endorsing Obama/Biden because of their long records on being pro-women and writing legislation that protects women. When that happens, This news about Trump will fade away in seconds. McCain's women's vote will disappear like a fart in a wind storm.

  22. AMERICA for Obama

I believe that Karl Rove and George Bush just don't like McCain, can you blame them. I think that Bushy and Rovey believe that McCain is lying to them about keeping up their strategies and they do not trust him to follow through with their policies as revenge for the way the Bushy and Rovey's have treated McCain over the last 8 years. They figure if all their pet projects are going to be revoked by either Obama or McCain, that they might as well throw McCain under the political bus just to get the last laugh. Besides, the Bushy's, Cheney's, and Rovey's of the world are so loaded financially after the last 8 years that they could probably care less who is elected. They just want to retire and dissapear into the sunset and I think they believe that Obama will allow them to do that as a compromise for the GOP losing complete control of the political system. We can only hope!

Wow what a surprise another rich and callous person supporting the McCain platform of making the rich richer and let the others eat cake. If this endorsement doesn't tell Americans anything then they deserve what they get.
