Clinton steps up efforts

(CNN) – Hillary Clinton is stepping up her efforts to push her supporters to vote and campaign for Barack Obama.

“As we continue to read the headlines about our troubled economy, the stakes of this election only get higher,” Clinton said in a Friday message. “Today I am asking all of you to hit the phones, hit the road and spread the word that we must elect Barack Obama President and we must send a filibuster-proof majority to Congress.”

Clinton’s political action committee, HillPAC, is launching a new grassroots movement on Saturday morning that will help mobilize volunteers to phone-bank, blog and canvass for Obama and other Democrats in tough congressional races. This effort, called “Hillary Sent Me!” will focus on a different battleground state each week.

“This is a call to action,” Clinton said. “We all have a role. And there is not a moment to lose. Tell them that Hillary sent you.”

Clinton’s speech to the Democratic National Convention at the end of August helped to bridge the gap between the two former rivals, as the former presidential candidate formally asked her delegates to vote for Obama. But John McCain’s campaign has continued to highlight Clinton voters who have endorsed the Republican nominee in a bid to woo disaffected former backers of the New York senator.

Hillary Sent Me! will send supporters to New Hampshire the weekend of September 27 to campaign for Obama and Jeanne Shaheen, a Democrat who is fighting for GOP Sen. John Sununu’s Senate seat. The group will mobilize volunteers in Ohio and Pennsylvania in the middle of October.

Hillary has my RESPECT, and had my primary vote.

Palin can't even provide her taxes.

    Listen to Hillary, and VOTE

I have to admit, I wasn't Hillary's biggest fan during the primary season. But every day she continues to impress me; I can count on one hand the number of politicians who would go to this much effort to help out a one-time rival. Or walk their talk of "unity".

Regardless of the outcome in November, she's definitely stepping up to the plate for her party and the country. And I believe that her efforts can make a big difference.

obama supporters should be ashamed of themselves for calling Hillary every name in the book. She is going all out for obama. I can't say same for obama if Hillary was the nominee.

    Emily,
Too bad you are a follower and not a leader!! Hillary had stated many times during the primaries that Obama wasn't qualified. Do you think she really supports him now or is she just a LIAR?

I applaud Hillary for doing this! Her supporters need to see her in action and prove once and for all that It's not just because she's a woman that women voted for her. Get a new line Gov.Palin.

it's time to level the playing field.

Mark...seems like you're still stuck in the primaries. Try to keep up with the rest of us.

How many of McCain's surrogates had flowery words for him when they were opponents in their primary bids?

I can't believe some people are so dense to cherry pick moments in time to base their arguments. Live in the now and you might gain some credibility with your peers.

Well said Hillary! Palin is a poor excuse for a woman and it's obvious she was picked only because she is a female and McCain wanted to win our votes. It won't work. Why? Because most women are intelligent, caring and honest. Palin is not intelligent (she things because she can see Russia from Alaska it makes her qualified in matters of foreign policy), not caring (or she would have taught her daughter about what makes babies) and not honest (or she would step up to the plate and testify in the investigation in Alaska which she now says is tainted even though it was begun before she was selected as a VP nominee.

Hillary is by far the most loyal Dem I have ever seen. She is like the Dem door mat, she brings new meaning to stand by your man quote she made.. she is a stand by your party loyal woman.
Sen. Obama smashed her with dirty politics and now she says " vote for Obama" I sorry but he beatup on Hillary (with in his own party)then Sarah who will be the next woman in line? Tacky! No I don't think he is for women although I heard Mrs.Obama wears the pants in that family.
I would not blame Hillary, when she goes into her private voting booth if she voted her heart and not her party.
Please Hillary don't loose us trying to please " the party" we need you,
you have made the cracks, help us keep the respect and to know you can help us break through.

Hillary, forget your brilliant mind, experience and years of service.
People are attracted to Palin because she can skin a moose and can see Russia from from her house.

    Good evening,

there are no comparisons that can exist between Mrs. Clinton and Palin!

This party has the best team at work and all of them are inspiring people once again to never take anything in life for granted! They work hard to win our hearts and our votes...she won votes...she was not simply nominated...again no compaison come even close to this great lady!
