STERLING, Virginia (CNN) – Firing up supporters at a women’s rally with Joe Biden in Virginia Friday, Sen. Barbara Mikulski told the crowd, “Democratic women, we wear lipstick too!” referring to Sarah Palin’s now-famous joke that the difference between a pitbull and a hockey mom is lipstick.
“You and I know that we women in America are mad as hell and we don’t want to take it anymore,” the spirited Maryland senator said. “I’m here today to say to you, we’ve got to get ready here, ok? Women, square your shoulders. Women, Democratic women, we wear lipstick too!”
“We don’t need another George Bush in earrings being the No. 2 spot,” Mikulski added.
Taking the stage, Biden thanked Mikulski, saying “They asked me could I handle Sarah Palin? I said, 'try debating Barbara Mikulski!'”
The Delaware senator focused his remarks on women's issues, saying that demographic is the most affected in an economic downturn.
“We're going to change that because here's the deal, we've got to restore both the protections and the dignity,” said Biden, “Because when the economy goes south, it's women who go, whether they're making minimum wage or working for a major corporation.”
Biden also said that on a conference call with Barack Obama and their economic advisors that morning, billionaire investor Warren Buffet told the group, “the last hundred days of the Bush administration are like the first 100 days of the FDR administration,” referring to the Great Depression.
Biden argued that the Federal Reserve and the Treasury need to be given emergency authority so people can stay in their homes and keep their savings. He added that part of the solution is ending “the cowboy mentality of the Bush and McCain era,” saying “they have worshipped at the shrine of deregulation.”

Joe Biden is refreshing in politics. Not lies and TALKING POINT FED TO HIM BY OTHERS.
His speeches should be on TV.more!!!!!!!!
It Figures!
Maryland Senator Barbara Mikulski has always played around with the dirty side of machine politics, and has been tempted by the darkest aspects of the Republican agenda. Mikulski's support of George W. Bush's FISA Amendments Act is the straw that breaks the camel's back. The last thing we need is Democrats in the United States Senate supporting Republican plans to spy against the American people.
Yea Dem. women! Dem women are the original "rosie the riviter's" citizens. I love this party and I love the women of this party. (and yes, I am a male pig... lipstick optional).
Another Riddle?
McCain says he will keep your taxes low, ensure you have jobs, and remind you that Obama is indirectly at fault for Fannie May (and by extension the crisis we are now facing) because he profited from it, but his only remedy for the problem is to create a new agency.
McCain wants to create another super agency (reminiscent of Home Land Security?) to oversee Wall Street and hold people accountable for their actions on Wall Street. How does this accomplish any market stability in the short run? Since this is a long-run strategy, what are the specifics?
Palin states that Obama wants to grow government. McCain says he is against regulation. Now they want to grow the government bureaucracy, and increase regulations. Good thing it is the weekend, maybe next week they can come up with a coherent platform.
Both Obama and McCain have weaknesses, but it is clear the McCain-Palin ticket will lead America on a whimsical and painful path to nowhere.
Only differencer is that Palin is a lady and Mikulski is a ah, ah, isn't.
listen up, you seriously are calling McCain a flip flopper while supporting Obama, that is laugh out loud funny. Obama has changed positions on every issue out there. FISA, pubic financing, faith based initiatives, gun control, the surge, late term abortion, drilling, the man has no principles, you are a typical Obama supporter, big on talk, short on actual knowledge of the facts.
She needs more than lipstick.......
By the way CNN you really need to check mcCains mental status, I really think he has Dementia. Just look into it.
Yes, but most of them are Men. Even this one in the photo looks like a man!!
DEMS ALL THE WAY!!!!
Obama/Biden 08
Talking about lipstick on a pig?!! Don't need to say anything more!
Birds of a Feather Flock Together! LOL

I like this tough talking lady!! Where's she been??
OBAMA / BIDEN '08
Neo-conservatives = fascism and rich man's socialism...
Barack Obama = FDR = poor man's socialism and Great Depression style of leadership...
you cannot win with either...
If nothing else, the democrats are sure worried about Sarah Palin. I've never seen an election where the VP was the hottest person on either ticket. She reminds me of that line in, TORA TORA TORA, a SLEEPING GIANT, just what the Republicans needed to get people excited about their party. This should have been a landslide for the Democrats, but alas they blew it again, with a unqualified person to be at the top of the ticket. We must somehow get throught the next 4 years, and pray John McCain is not a Bush third term. I do not believe he will be a Bush third term. I don't believe anyone could dummy down to Bush.
Why is it that now we have people agreeing that McCain is not suitable to run the country but still decide to vote for the 3rd party candidate when they know the 3rd party candidate (or independent )will lose, thus letting someone else decide who becomes president.
I consider that to be throwing away your vote. If you had the nerve to vote for bush and now see that McCain won't do the job then why not O'Bama? It isn't because his polices are the same they are very different and we all know this. It isn't because of resko and how he used the law (which is legal) to get promoted in Illinois it's because he is african american. Seeing what the WSJ said today should re-enforce that we need change in America and it's not in Palin/McCain or McCain/Palin. (LOL) It's in O'Bama/Biden.
That's what we need to show John McCain his sad plan to "win" over all the women's votes will not work......not all women are "air heads"
John McCain may have picked Sarah Palin.....soley because she was a woman, but her lack of knowledge on the issues facing this country have never been challenged!!!!!
When will she ever sit down with an interviewer (not fox& friends) who will ask her really tough questions and make her stick with the question and not be allowed to straight away talk about Senator Obama without giving a viable answer!!!!
Women Democrats always seem so angry...
I love Barbara Milkulski. She's spunky and dedicated and doesn't give her support lightly.
I'm so glad she's for Obama.
Obama was right about the surge after all. Check the report on yahoo.
I'd rather have Joe, who talks a lot and sometimes has gaffes, then Sarah who isn't allowed to talk to reporters. When she's on the stump she has talking points filled with lies.
So the Palin bump finally burst. Thank goodness because she and John are filled with hot air.
I think the country is finally getting serious and looking forward to the most exciting election ever.
Obama/Biden 08
This is so awesome! Because Women Democrats in Alaska also wear Lipstick too!!!!!
I would love to hear more of Biden's speech. I don't think football should be our main focus.
Nevr heard of this Fat lady ?
She should not shout, its not good for her health, and Obbama camp.
With Hillary, your women vote bank is gone.
