STERLING, Virginia (CNN) – Firing up supporters at a women’s rally with Joe Biden in Virginia Friday, Sen. Barbara Mikulski told the crowd, “Democratic women, we wear lipstick too!” referring to Sarah Palin’s now-famous joke that the difference between a pitbull and a hockey mom is lipstick.
“You and I know that we women in America are mad as hell and we don’t want to take it anymore,” the spirited Maryland senator said. “I’m here today to say to you, we’ve got to get ready here, ok? Women, square your shoulders. Women, Democratic women, we wear lipstick too!”
“We don’t need another George Bush in earrings being the No. 2 spot,” Mikulski added.
Taking the stage, Biden thanked Mikulski, saying “They asked me could I handle Sarah Palin? I said, 'try debating Barbara Mikulski!'”
The Delaware senator focused his remarks on women's issues, saying that demographic is the most affected in an economic downturn.
“We're going to change that because here's the deal, we've got to restore both the protections and the dignity,” said Biden, “Because when the economy goes south, it's women who go, whether they're making minimum wage or working for a major corporation.”
Biden also said that on a conference call with Barack Obama and their economic advisors that morning, billionaire investor Warren Buffet told the group, “the last hundred days of the Bush administration are like the first 100 days of the FDR administration,” referring to the Great Depression.
Biden argued that the Federal Reserve and the Treasury need to be given emergency authority so people can stay in their homes and keep their savings. He added that part of the solution is ending “the cowboy mentality of the Bush and McCain era,” saying “they have worshipped at the shrine of deregulation.”

Charlotte, I have to disagree with you saying that McCain is not a replica of George Bush. We have to pray that he isn't a third term bush? Get honest with yourself, the facts, the polices shows that he is. Voting for McCain is insanity (doing the same thing over and over again...voting for bush 1st time 2nd time and 3rd time McCain...and expecting (praying?) different results. It seems to me that it isn't polices that confuse you it's color. All of this "women for palin" stuff has died down and the real WOMEN are coming out in droves for O'Bama. Just face it, most women see McCain as another 4 years of Bush and voting for O'Bama is the correct thing to do.

Charlotte, don't be too sure. With two trigger happy people in the White House (no, three, I forgot the shadow VP Todd) we could be bombing and fighting our way to WWIII before Valentine's Day. This country is almost bankrupt, and not just financially, but morally. To even consider placing Sarah Palin, who has not given one speech without multiple lies, who cannot answer a question in a forthright manner, was known in Alaska for firing people who disagreed with her, placed her high school friends in jobs they weren't qualified for....and there is more. The woman is not Commander-IN-Chief material, and would be even worse than Bush should she be given access to the "nucular" (sic)nuclear, Sarah! button.

Ohio voters grow a little thicker skin. Biden was just having fun with his football team (Delaware). I listen to lots of football talk on the radio and TV (ESPN) and what they are saying about OSU is a lot worse than what Biden said.
