Who cares - the media is still in love with Obama, because he doesn't give actual ideas for them to look at. Instead he just gives generalizations, like:

"We need to improve our country"
"I want change"
"We need to improve poverty"
"We need to help heal the nation"
"We need to improve our standing in the world"

WE NEED... WE NEED... blah blah blah... OF COURSE WE NEED TO DO THOSE THINGS! WHO CAN DISAGREE WITH THAT?!??!

But then the liberal media doesn't care about that. They want to rip apart the only candidate that has a record of actually doing these things. God help us if Obama is elected.

The best way to get the facts are from the comedy shows like this or the Daily Show or Stephen Colbert. They show clips of McCain's statements where one contradicts the other. They show how ridiculous some of the so-called main stream media is with their ridiculous commentary and talking heads.

The fact is if the Main Stream Media stuck to the true facts and presented them to the public Obama would be ahead by 40 points in the polls right now.

SNL is always a great show when politics is it's target. When it isn't it's usually more fun to watch Red Green.

"mostly young voters who aren't as closely following the ins and outs on the campaign trail" !?! Are you kidding me? How did you get that information? The people who I have talked to who seem to have the most knowledge and up-to-date news on the campaign are those under 30. They definitely won't be the uninformed voters this time around. Find another scapegoat. Sorry we never show up on your polls because we don't own landlines.

Neither candidate has been completely honest in their attack advertisements although McCain has strayed from the truth more often and more blatantly than Obama. According to Politifact.com, Obama has had 18 false claims and 1 rediculously false claim vs. 23 false claims and 6 blatantly false claims by McCain. The bottom line is don't take anything either of these candidates say as gospel, take the time to do your own research on thier claims and attacks and do your research from reputable sources.

Why won't this CNN Political Ticker let us comment on the Fact Check post that demonstrates that Obama is flat out lying when he says that John McCain's social security plan would "wipe out the nest eggs" of millions of people?

Just one more example of CNN's bias -- the comments are always open on stories that are bad for McCain so people can criticize him even more, but they're not open on stories that criticize Obama, since CNN wants to limit the criticism of Obama as much as possible.

Hammond was good, but the writing of the skit itself was painfully unfunny - as the non-reactions of the audience made clear. The Fey/Palin skit was much, much better.

"Barack Obama... supports tax cuts for pedophiles."

That's about as valid as Obama's claim that McCain wants tax cuts for oil companies, since he wants tax cuts for ALL companies in America. But hey, why not focus in on only a select few benefactors of the policy? I guess the dishonest tactic wouldn't be as effective if Obama went around saying "McCain wants tax cuts for organic farms!"

The only difference is that Barack Obama is actually repeating his lie over and over again, whereas SNL had to make a stupid sketch to come up with things that McCain has never said.

The other funny thing is that the past few Fact Checks that CNN has performed on Obama have shown him to be a liar. Not to mention over 70% of Obama's ads are negative ads filled with these various lies.

The McCain/Palin ticket is just too scary for words.

We've got an unknown, untested, and insincere hockey mom who's "foreign policy" experience is Nil. She's facing an investigation that, in my opinion, has her skirting the edge of an obstruction charge, if not the definition of corruption that she claims to be against. And she's so far down in the pockets of big oil, and thinks the only way out of the energy crisis is "drill baby drill". I hope to God if McCain is elected, that his VP is kept to such historic and constitutional roles as leading the Senate and going on goodwill trips to places nobody's ever heard of. (How the heck did Cheney get so much authority anyway? Oh yeah, because Bush didn't have a clue what he was doing and was too stupid to listen to people who knew what they were talking about.)

McCain is a true American hero. Nobody disputes that..but he's just so ready to veto anything from the appropriations committee that nothing will ever get done....and he thinks the war in Iraq is a good idea. Tell me again why we're there?

At least Obama has SOME foreign policy experience, and is smart enough to listen to advisers. He had the smarts to pick a running mate with strengths in the area where he's weak, and one who KNOWS how the Senate works and how to handle it.

I cant believe the media, this country is going thru the worst presidency in american history.Thank you Supreme Court for stopping the recount back in 2000,now look at what it got us,George Bush did nothing to stop the terriost attacks on sept 11,but became a hero instead, the media didnot hold him countable for anything to do with 911,even though George Bush was warned about 9ii two months before it happend,in now the media is doing the samething, this media is not holding the Bush administation accountable for this bad economy,in fact the media is trying to blame the democrats for George Bush mess, imagine if a democrat was president at this time, the media in the republicans will be calling the democrats the worst politicans in american history,so why is the media is not blaming the republicans for this mess, every news channel to turn to calls it a by-partisen matter.how can it be by-partisen when George Bush been in charge of the country for 8 years,i dont think the media will call it a by-partisen matter if a democrat was in charge.the democrats would be blamed 100%.

As funny as it is, it always backfires; adding to the perception that the media is in the tank for Obama. It backfired really badly in 2004, a year that saw John Kerry lose to the worst president in the history of this country.

Why? Because if Joanne Shmoe sees Sarah Palin as being someone she can relate to, and you are mocking Sarah Palin, you are mocking Joanne Schmoe.

And Joanne Schmoe usually lives in Ohio.

I don't necessarily agree that younger viewers are not following this race for the White House closely. Actually, thanks to the efforts of the Obama campaign, I am seeing younger people coming out in droves and participating actively in their democracy for the first time in my 50 years, as most strongly evidenced by the voter turn-out during the democratic run-off. I do believe that they, along with minorities and women, hold the key to who will be occupying the White House come January. While I was and still am a Hillary Clinton supporter, and will always believe that we did not necessarily place the most deserving candidate on the ticket, I fervently support the Obama/Biden ticket, and hope the American public can see through the distortions and the innate racism that probably dogs us all to varying degrees, to bring true change to Washington.

It was funny. Now I am sure some Obama backers will love it but hate if they make fun of Obama. There are also some Repubs that are mad at this but will laugh at one done with Obama. To both of those group I say give it a rest. You have to laugh sometimes and see that sometimes things are done just for a laugh.

SNL is violating the law by illegally contributing to the Obama campaign. It uses sketches written by democrats, so it is just a puppet of the democratic party The more liberal media shows its bias, the more it is obvious that they are lying.

Vote for McCain/Palin - they have the integrity and determination to work for the country and for the people who elect them, they will fight corruption and fix the economy.

It is the Obama camp who is out of touch. Obama is not qualified to be president no more today then he was the day he announced. The man has had his hand out and every turn. Only Chris Dodd (the head of the banking committee) has taken more. Obama's financial advisors Franklin Raines and Jim Johnson have made tens of millions of dollars. Obama has to be the dirtiest politician EVER for being such a junior senator. I do not trust him and I no longer see any difference between the two parties. McCain and Palin will reform Washington. Obama is more of the same.

Age does matter. When I hear McCain address a group as "my friends" I think get that old guy off the stage. I'm reminded of gatherings where, my father, trying to stress a position in a discussion, would call another old geezer "my friend" when I knew full well he was just trying to make nice and never regarded the "friend" as someone he'd pay attention to. Once out the door he would skewer the guy. McCain is insincere in his positions and probably doubles over with laughter after the speechs are finished, thinking he put one over on us once again. Help!!! We need a leader with some young brain cells.

If the country is stupid enough to elect McCain/Palin, we will deserve exactly what has happened over the past 7 plus years with even more tax breaks for the very rich and corporations. We will also have a religious zealot who is unprepared for national or foreign policy decisions one heartbeat away from the Presidency. SNL can make a joke about McCain, but this country will go further down the tubes with McCain and Palin. Palin cannot even keep her teenaged daughter from getting pregnant or encourage her oldest son to pursue higher education...and she's prepared to lead this country. No bloody way!

The whole world is falling apart on the republicans watch! They have had by far the most power in making this disaster happen whether they acknowledge this or not. Thank you Ronald Reagan for maiking the conservatives so powerful the last 30 years or so - this disaster has you and your cronies names all over it. We the people are cleaning up after your stinking mess, so at the very least, let us make a little fun and practice the one thing we have left - FREEDOM OF SPEECH!

I love how the republicans try to say the current congress is responsible (or even Barack Obama) for this mess. That's just so hilarious! Too bad this situation is so serious, or I'd really be laughing. You fu***ng Republicans screwed this up! Take responsibility for it!

We want some accountability!!!

You people better be careful with our money or you might have to come up with some more money to rebuild the White House after we TEAR IT DOWN!

Also, I am still waiting for the skit where Obama and Rev. Wright are preaching a sermon together... Now that would be fun watch.

Thank you, SNL, for cutting through the b.s. and so deftly showing how ridiculous the McCain-Palin campaign is. It's a joke, so what better way to show it than through...jokes? I am tuning in every week for a cathartic laugh, since most of the week I'm cringing and crying with the horror that is the Republican ticket, and what could possibly be the worst duo to run the best nation in the world. If they win, I just hope SNL broadcasts in Canada.

Its just satire, are people so stupid they vote based on an SNL skit. If anything it just shows how much the media and hollywood are in the tank for Obama. It actually hurts Obama because people see right through it and always vote against the media and hollywood. They will be standing around scratching their heads after the lose the election because they are so self important that they cannot believe everyone doesn't think the way they do. They will never get it and will keep losing until they nominate a normal candidate that appeals to the majority of Americans.

I am so very proud of SNL for doing this skit. The American people have all been taken in by Palin's personality, and, how she is a "homegirl," Just wish that people would really read and find out the "policies" of this "spectacular" duo. And, realize, too, that they actually have no policy whatever. Keeping the Bush tax cuts permanent. Hello, this is how all of the states are suffering. They keep spending, and cutting taxes. They need to follow Bill Clinton's way of spend as you go--if there is no money for it, then don't spend it!!!

So true, the "straight talk" express is anything but. Seems that they GOP can only spew half truths and total lies. Many times I've noticed that Obama attacks McCain using his own words. McCains position on the issues are in a constant flux, ever changing. Now Sarah Palin lack of experience makes her an "outsider" well the same can be said of Obama right?

I want to be an astronaut my qualification is: I can see the moon from my house! Pathetic indeed.

Oh, I don't mind the skit, it seems to be based on quite a few truths. I don't understand how McCain can say "I'm John McCain and I approve this message" on his ads which contain so many untruths. So maybe I feel a little Schadenfreude because I have lost repsect for McCain long ago.

It is however disturbing that so many people will allow images and comments on television to sway their opinions without have researched the issues, consult with their own ideas, opinions, etc. We just get spoon fed by TV instead of being independent thinkers and reading more.

Actually, I thought It was pretty funny!!....BUT REMEMBER..it WAS "conceived" by Al Franken. He's the hate mongering, ANGRY LIBERAL, with no credibility, who moved back to Minnesota after 35 years just to run for U. S. Senate. The SAME Al ( done nothing) Franken who happens to be a good friend of Lorne Michaels!!!!.....

The skit was great...and THAT's where Mr. "Pay no Taxes" belongs....AS A SKIT WRITER!!!

Boy did they do a good job on this. This is exactly how crazy and desperate McCain's ads have become. No truth to them, but he still approves them.
