Palin accuses 'Obama-Biden Democrats' of spreading 'lies'

Palin accused 'Obama-Biden Democrats,' of attacking her family Monday.
Palin accused 'Obama-Biden Democrats,' of attacking her family Monday.

(CNN)— Governor Sarah Palin accused “Obama-Biden Democrats,” of launching a series of unfair attacks against her and her family in a fundraising email sent to supporters Monday.

“Friends, in the course of a few weeks, the Obama-Biden Democrats have launched attack after attack on me, my family and John McCain,” Palin writes in the email. “They’re desperate to win and they’ll no doubt launch these attacks against other reformers on our ticket.”

Watch: Obama says discussion of Sarah Palin's family is 'off-limits'

Earlier this month, the McCain campaign said its $47 million fundraising record for the month of August was due in large part to the addition of the Alaska governor to the ticket. Her presence on the campaign trail has also translated into larger crowds at campaign events throughout the country.

Palin said Obama and Biden have a “large financial advantage,” urging supporters that a contribution of any size will help stop the spread of “lies” and “misinformation” coming from Democrats.

“We must stop them,” Palin writes, “...before they turn these shameful tactics on others we support.”

Earlier this month when Obama was asked about Bristol Palin’s pregnancy, the Illinois senator repeated previous calls that “people’s families are off-limits.”

“This shouldn’t be part of our politics,” Obama said “It has no relevance to show Governor Palin’s performance as a governor or her potential performance as a vice president.”

Dear Mrs. Palin – please outline your charges and be specific.

I know specifically what lies you and Mr. McCain are spreading.

To you I say "Thanks but no thanks."

This woman terrifies me. She has extreme views and is willfully ignorant of critical world issues. This is a wolf in sheep's clothing.

It is not a crime to research potential world leaders. It is not a crime to demand answers to important questions from these leaders.

Where is the responsible press in this? Why are they complicit in continuing this sham? Is it the fear of accusations of sexism?

Get a grip lady. You know what they are saying is true. If you check the facts...you and McCain distort the truth much more than Obama and in more severe ways. We don't need any more of your party's fuzzy facts.

Playing the victim is the only approach the McCain-Palin ticket can use anymore .... otherwise they appear simply wrong and out of touch whenever they try to discuss actual issues.

    It's so transparent.

Palin is soo full of it

Being that Obama has forcefully said families are off limits, it's pretty obvious that the Obama campaign has not launched lies or emails about her family

Also, if that were true, why wouldn't see follow up with what the 'supposed' lies were?

That's the only way McCain/Palin can win- to make up stuff

It's really getting kinda pathetic now

The McCain/Palin campaign have told the most lies and distortions ever. They are being ridiculed on shows across the US for how much they have lied and now THEY have no shame by accusing the democrats of lying.

Do not forget that the GOP is ruthless and will stop at nothing to try and win the election, they have already told the most dispicable lies on their TV ads about Barack and then lie about their own performance over the past 8 years, if you listen to McCain Palin you would never know that a Republican has been in the White House for 20 of the last 28 years and controlled Congress for 16 of the last 18 years...And that sine the Dems won the House and Senate 2 short years ago there have been more GOP lead fillbusters than at any time in history...Then the GOP says that the Dems are ineffective...Give me a break

The McCain/Palin ticket is nothing but a lie. They have lied countless times and since she has nothing to offer on the economy, she is talking about stuff that has nothing to do with turning this country around. What a joke!

Ahh, now they're the victims because the poisonous rhetoric and outright falsehoods aren't working. Time to pull out the politics of victimhood again!

Don't let them fool you people...there's nothing "maverick" about this ticket.

james are you kidding, the media talked for weeks about how her child wasn't her own, how she's a bad mother for working, how she had an affair, how she's a bad person for having a Down Syndrome baby, they demeaned her children, they mocked her small town. Do you mean those lies James!

Deception, misdirection and propaganda that is the Republican way. This little ploy of Ms. Palin will undoubtedly work to a certain extent but I hope Americans are not so dumb as to fall for this obvious farce that the Republican party is throwing out there. For the record I haven't heard Senator Obama or Biden say anything about Ms. Palin or her family.
