CNN gets ready to update the Electoral Map

Could CNN's electoral map shift Wednesday? Check back at 4 pm for the answer.

(CNN) – Will the Democrats get Rocky Mountain high in Colorado?

The answer could determine who wins the race for the White House.

It's no coincidence Democrats decided to hold last month's presidential nominating convention in Denver. Colorado hasn't voted for the Democrats in a presidential election since 1992. But President Bush won the state by only 5 points over Senator John Kerry in 2004, the Democrats made major gains at the state level in the past two elections - and in this presidential election, the Obama campaign hopes to turn the state from red to blue.

A state poll out earlier this week by Quinnipiac University put Barack Obama up four points over Republican rival John McCain. Today at 4 pm ET, we'll get a better sense of where the race in Colorado stands, as CNN, Time Magazine and the Opinion Research Corporation release brand new numbers on the race for the White House in the state - and CNN updates its Electoral Map.

Check out CNN's current electoral map

The poll will also include new state surveys on the battle for the presidency in Montana, Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Biden said that in the stock market crash of 1929, that FDR got on television and told it like it was. Only problem is that Herbert Hoover was President in 1929 when the market crash happened and television wasn't introduced to the public until 1939, ten years later. Now, all the other news outlets carried this story but somehow it's completely missing from CNN. If Palin had have said something like that, CNN would have it front and center not only on the ticker, but on their home page. Anybody need any more evidence that CNN is just a propaganda arm of the Obama campaign? If it had been Palin, I can hear the haters now.

    Sweetie,
You are right. McCain has this election in the bag. In fact, if I were you I wouldn't even waste my time voting. There is no reason too. I would just sit back and watch the election results on TV.

Why is it the polls for Democrats vs Republicans for Congress has Democrats favored 14 points over Republicans, but Obama only is mustering a 4-point lead over McCain, WITH all the screw-ups and proven lies of McCain and with the hysterical incompetence of Palin so obvious?

Are the presidential polls being slanted to cover for another Diebold theft?

  8. CO loves Biden/Obama

Biden will win Colorado. I don’t want my TV taken away, or my children pushed into incest, so I oppose Sarah Palin and her failed old Republican moral policies. Ain’t no small time pale white trailer trash from a state full of drunks going to close down my kids schools and force them out into home schooling. No way! And we don’t need to take away school lunches and give them all to big oil companies, and we don’t need no guns in this house. That’s why I have always voted for Hillary, and now I will vote for Biden/Obama.

  9. Truth hurts

The Democrats need to make sure that they don't fall into the republicans trap. Mccain after so many years of lobbying against regulations, now he wants regulations because it is costing him the election. Mccain wants to hold out and say no bailout so, the Democrats can be pressured into bailout. Mccain want to be able to say that the democrats care more about Wall Street instead of Main Street. But the Democrats should hold off until Mccain and GOP get on same page of Democrats. If we do bail out Wall Street it needs to be conditions, oversights and help the Main Street too!! If they don't want to do it that way then let us go into a recession, because we are already there anyway!! Bush and Paulson will not get a blank check to bail out Wall Street. We the people are investors so, we need to know what we are investing in, quote un quote by Obama.

McCains Paln = 353 Billion Dollars

Obama Plan = 14 Billion Dollars

Hey Republicans got some questions for ya...why would you want to go almost 400 billion in the hole on top of the 700+ billion bail out? McCain would lead this country to financial ruin. He also is a hothead and is TOO OLD to lead this nation and caribou Barbie is just about as quilified as my wife is to run this country.

Got another question for ya Rpublicans: Why would you want someone in the White House that graduated college after going to si schools in five years and pulled a "C" grade point average! Hmm...so she can shoot a gun....you need to wake up!

Why can't Palin talk to the tough hitting press? Are you people actually going to fall for this?

McCain has done nothing for Veterans since he has been in office...and that is a FACT! The current G.I. Bill is a joke.....ask a veteran they will tell ya! Its funny how current Military members that YOU send over to Iraq are 3-1 in favor of Obama. So essentially all you Republican blow hards that back all these wars are sending over people who are Democrats. Nice.......

America are you that stupid? Really I mean I know we voted Bush in twice and Nixion twice but are we really going to be that stupid a third time?

Slowly but surely, the American people are starting to see that McCain doesnt have a grasp on Americas top issue. The economy. "The fundamentals of economy are strong" Really dude?

And when he flip floped within a day on the economy bail out.

Does everyone else forget McCain saying "we'll never have to go to war for oil again ……" ?

    To Barney:
I do remember that comment!! I remember being taken aback by it when it was uttered. Sorry, I just can't trust McCain. As days go by he seems even less and less trustworthy. My vote this November will go to Obama/Biden.

It seems to me that nothing is going to make the people happy. If Palin doesn't meet with foreign leaders she isn't qualified in foreign affairs and if she does, she isn't working for the campaign. If you can call lying and mudslinging campaigning. We want real answers with a plan not empty promises that will be forgotten on November 5th. Why should Palin talk to the media after the way she and her family have been attacked? Just to give them more chances to twist things. I have seen previous interviews with people where parts have been cut to make things seem totally different from what was actually said. Do you really want someone in office who can't even decide what religion he is and who he knows and how well. Someone he Served on committees with and lobbied money for (who just happened to be a terrorist) is just someone who lived in his community? Come on, people are smarter than that at least I hope they are. As far as the campaign promises, he can promise everything under the sun that doesn't mean it will actually happen. How many times in his record has he supported and promised and then flipped when the time came to actually do something. Everyone is trying to blame Bush for the current problem in the economy, but let's not forget that it has been the Democratic Congress that did nothing about reforming the financial market and that until now had blocked the drilling for oil causing Americans to spend much more of their hard earned money on gas.

Thanks CNN but I will continue to rely on the one poll that has proven to be most accurate over the years, which is Zogby. Zogby has McCain leading in every battleground state except for one. The truth hurts sometimes, but the truth is America is a center-right country and Obama is the most liberal of all the Senators. We are just not ready to elect a Socialist with no experience

But sadly to say there are some knuckleheads out here will vote because of a persons color of there skin. I wonder do these people know noone can help what color they are. It wasn't like we had any say so in the manner and that we

A woman who cannot bring up her children properly in even the very rudimentary basic of her christain faith and American values wants to become the Vice President????!!!!

ABC reported this morning that Bristol Palin is a habitual weed smoker! Her redneck boyfriend is an addicted crack user!!!

I guess, Palin intends to marry off her teenage pregnant daughter on the lawns of the White House...

CNN's way to 'rig' the election or SLANT it towards Obama by continually manipulating public opinion. What an engenius way of creating your own news or lack of quality and fair reported news stories.

John King is a professional who has been relegated to finger pulling on a HD TV set.

Ever since you called the New Hampshire democratic primary for Obama and began reporting for him and against Hillary I've been watching CSPAN.

And now you threaten a national party not to air videos of our public servants with heads of state because they won't let your slanted reporting reporters in the same room. Oh, Obama fly's around the world to thousands and you report his every step...Palin wishes to meet one on one and you threaten the American Political System.....and WIN..which is the sadest note of all

This is a Presidential election, not a Vice-Presidential election. Can you really imagine Barack Hussein Obama as President of the United States? He has no credentials, except that he seems to be a nice guy. So is my next-door neighbor, but I wouldn't vote for him for President.
