Is anyone suprised. Bono is really about helping people and is fully aware of foreign policy in different countries. He doesn't want to be used by the McCain campiagn to give Palin some sort of fake credentials especially if it's just for a Photo Op. He actually does have better things to do.

Let's see I once sat on a bus and when aske by a French tourist "if a building he was pointing at was the US Supremem Court Building" and I said "yes." I guess that gives me foreign relations experience and expertise. Then a year ago, I attended a Cary Simon concert and she shook my hand after the concert as she was leaving. She even let my wife take a picture of her and me. I guess that gives me Hollywood Star experience and expertise. I see that Palin is now a truly an expert on the world situation, diplomacy and soon Hollywood just like me.

The point about the bridge to nowhere is this. McCain/Palin are saying earmarks are bad and they want to eliminate earmarks altogether. Obama/Biden aren't saying all earmarks are bad, they are saying earmarks should be transparent and revealed to the public. Thus the fact that Palin solicited and took earmarks in spite of her position is hypocritical. The earmarks that Biden and Obama received are public information, thus they are not being hypocritical about them.

McCain is asking to cancel this Friday's debate, also.....I suppose he is using the economic crisis for a reason. All the more reason for us to see and hear the two of them together since economy is all about Foreign Relations. I hope Obama does NOT agree to cancel this debate. As we move closer and closer, McCain campaign wants to draw their wall around them closer and tighter. They do not want the voters to see their candidates or for their candidates to be tested and vetted by the voting public.

Debate, move forward. Isn't he the one who has been taunting and ridiculing Obama for not meeting him in town halls? for celebrity? for oratory? for Hope? for Change??

He is a big phony. A blow hard. And that "breath of fresh air" of Palin? Just BS blowing.

I'm sure Bono does not support someone who is so scarily backward in advancing humankind and therefore He opted out of the photo op!! Making women pay for rape kits, speaking in tongues, believing that man has not contributed to global warming, not supporting stem cell research to help alleviate horrible illnesses, believing that certain books should be banned and that the war in Iraq is God's war does not underscore what Bono has been working so hard for all of these years! The Republicans certainly needed a good rallier, someone to get the troops up and shouting. Lord knows that's true. It's just way too soon for someone like Palin. They'd have been much smarter to have picked someone else this time around, but still have used her to campaign, building her resume and status and credentials the way Obama did, the way even Clinton did after his stirring National Convention speech and related campaigning before he ran for President.

Now they may well be shooting a golden...er....opportunity, wasting Sarah's talents with this ill-conceive early roll-out.

Somehow I think Bono understands the difference between charging a woman's insurance for a rape kit vs charging the woman herself. If a woman's medical insurance will cover it, why not charge that instead of the taxpayers? Isn't covering medical procedures the reason people get health insurance?

Bono requested the closed meeting – maybe he felt his cause and its message are too important to be used as fodder by candidates for political gain. And by that, I mean McCain's camp publicizing the interview or Obama's camp using it against McCain.
