McCain camp to propose postponing VP debate

(CNN) - McCain supporter Sen. Lindsey Graham tells CNN the McCain campaign is proposing to the Presidential Debate Commission and the Obama camp that if there's no bailout deal by Friday, the first presidential debate should take the place of the VP debate, currently scheduled for next Thursday, October 2 in St. Louis.

In this scenario, the vice presidential debate between Joe Biden and Sarah Palin would be rescheduled for a date yet to be determined, and take place in Oxford, Mississippi, currently slated to be the site of the first presidential faceoff this Friday.

Graham says the McCain camp is well aware of the position of the Obama campaign and the debate commission that the debate should go on as planned - but both he and another senior McCain adviser insist the Republican nominee will not go to the debate Friday if there's no deal on the bailout.

I think it's convenient as well, that they are now pushing Palin's debate out even FURTHER...man, it's is SO transparent how much they realize how horrid of a person this chick is. Yea, that's sexist, but face it, the only thing she has going for her is looks and a set of knockers. No brain, no morals and no leadership in that babes body!!

So he wants to blow off the vice presidential debate? Now that is a stunt and a half. He could just as easily say do the debates for presidential canidates on Monday or Tuesday. But no. His whole plan was to get Sarah off from the debates. Just like he has shielded her from having to speak to reporters. What a joke this race has turned out to be

How transparent can you get? Somehow the VP debate will never be rescheduled, and Sarah Palin will never have to answer any questions on the fly. Disgusting, actually. Not to mention, can't McCain work on the bailout deal and participate in a debate in the same week? I know he's old, but really.

Hmm... McCain campaign delaying their pathetic VP's debate against Biden? Shocking. Does she need more time to cram? Well duh. Is McCain really so magnanimous that suspending his campaign was in the interest of Americans (even though he doesn't know anything about economics, let alone know enough to solve a major economic crisis) and not in his campaign's interest?? Please.

    Stop. Seriously. Stop.

McCain and the lying and manipulative Bush can't shove a GOP and Top Executive friendly solution through by bullying Barack Obama in front of the American people. That's the problem with the GOP right now. They think that they can bully everyone. ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!! Stand before the American people and debate you COWARD! I thought you were a war hero. McCain = McCoward!

He doesnt want to have the debate because he doesnt want to answer questions about the current situation with the economy because he had a hand in the deregulation. Not having a bailout deal in place by friday is not going to make matters any worse than they already are. Thats just like breaking your leg and needing surgery but if you dont have it its going to break again. Then your trying to give the woman with the screeching voice longer before the American peopleefind out what they already know. Shes just as much an idiot as you are.

Think McCain is trying to change the story before the news hits that his campaign manager, Rick Davies, has been on Freddie Mac's payroll through August 2008, not for work he did for the company, but for the access to John McCain he provides. I smell a rat.

New York Times and Newsweek have confirmed this. Usual Karl Rove tactic is for McCain to blame the media for printing the story rather than the merits of the story itself.

Is not a vice president suppose to stand in for a president when the president is not available. Let Palin stand in for him.

As president he should be able to multi task ,are you saying that you ( MacCain) that you can only do one thing at a time?

The McCain campaign: "Quick, we need to think of a way to further delay Sarah Palin from having to talk about real issues! What do we do?"

Rick Davis: "Let's pull the wool over everyone's eyes and try to 'suspend the campaign' so we can move the date back further!"

John McCain: "I approve this message."

What a joke, gotta love political gamesmanship...but call it what it is...McCain isn't on a single committee that would have any swagger in this debate...Country first my.....

First he doesn't want to debate with Obama, now he's afraid of Palin debating with Biden?

Well, OF COURSE he should be afraid – they're going to wipe the floor with those two!

...and now we see why he's done this. To keep Palin from having to debate. Christ, are these people even capable of feeling shame any longer?

How about this suggestion, because this is really becoming comical. Why don't we cancel all of the debates and just have the election because at this point it should be obvious that John McCain is not trustworthy and Sarah Palin is not ready to lead...heck, she is not even ready to answer a question. Let's stop the games because my intelligence is being insulted. First, as a woman- thinking that Palin can replace Clinton and take her supporters. Then saying that every criticism of her is sexist. Now this...
