NEW YORK (CNN) – Sarah Palin and the foreign leaders she has met with in New York have said very little to reporters over the last two days, but the press happened to be in the room on Wednesday for one eyebrow-raising exchange, as the new president of Pakistan lavished praise on Palin's looks.
On entering a room filled with several Pakistani officials this afternoon, Palin was immediately greeted by Sherry Rehman, the country's Information Minister.
"And how does one keep looking that good when one is that busy?," Rehman asked, drawing friendly laughter from the room when she complimented Palin.
"Oh, thank you," Palin said.
Pakistan's recently-elected president, Asif Ali Zardari, entered the room seconds later. Palin rose to shake his hand, saying she was “honored” to meet him.
Zardari then called her "gorgeous" and said: "Now I know why the whole of America is crazy about you."
"You are so nice," Palin said, smiling. "Thank you."
A handler from Zardari's entourage then told the two politicians to keep shaking hands for the cameras.
"If he's insisting, I might hug," Zardari said. Palin smiled politely.
The Alaska governor did not answer questions from reporters at her first two appearances on Wednesday, when she joined McCain in meetings with Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili and Ukrainian president Viktor Yushchenko, and then traveled downtown to meet with Iraqi president Jalal Talabani.
But she did offer brief remarks to a reporter at the Zardari meeting who asked about her day.
"It's going great," Palin said. "These meetings are very informative and helpful, and a lot of good people sharing appreciation for America."

So, they all want to "do" her...that doesn't make her a good VP choice, and I definitely don't want her running the country. She is all wrong for the choice of VP....especially when McCain is so old with health issues. Just Say No to McCain/Palin.
OBAMA/MCCAIN 2008
well it's good to see them tackling the real issues of the world today
Ms. Palin... meet the Sexist men of the Middle East.
Shame to Zardari whose wife was murdered just months ago. Why stop with a hug...go on you fool.
oh wow.. now we have a look inside at what is wrong with the middle east.. they think someone being gorgeous in politics is relevant..
and president of pakistan.. not all of america is crazy about palin, most americans think she is grotesquely underqualified and out of touch with mainstream america despite what the republicans say.. and those that do like her.. well.. you said it. they are CRAZY
thats just swell!
Obama/Biden 08
DANG! I know there's a DANGLING PARTICIPLE in there somewhere. And could someone teach her how to use
some PROPER NOUNS.
ugh, so I guess this would be a sexist remark. I glad even the Pakistani President realizes the only reason she is on this ticket!
This is the exact time we need a debate! The crisis makes it more important that we learn about our choice for leadership, not less.
Since the election can not be canceled, we simply can not cancel the information we need to make that choice.
Maybe I'm cynical, but my first reaction was this was a political ploy and not done out of concern. Probably because debate was shut down during the decision of the Iraq war.
We need to go forward and chose our next leader. We need this information.
Keep the debate!!! We have leaders to take care of crisis. We as voters also need to make an informed decision!!!!!
all fluff and no substance...maybe her foreign affairs expereince will be on her back or knees.
GREAT, SO NOW WE HAVE A VP CANDIDATE THAT WORLD LEADERS WANT TO BANG.
THIS IS NOT A PAGEANT, THIS IS OUR FUTURE!
GET LOST PALIN!
My fellow Americans: in case you were wondering what *real* sexism looks like, *this* is what it looks like.
Yes, President Zardari she's gorgeous and we Americans are proud of our next VP. You say you want to meet the other VP candidate? Barack, go tell your boy to get his foot out of his mouth for a minute and come meet President Zardari.
I'm glad to hear they discussed important issues. No wonder the MCacin campaign kept reporters out.
Oh gosh, I'm all a flutter!
Puh-lease. She is qualified to be a MILF. That's it!
Is it me, or is McBush always looking at her behind whenever she is speaking on stage and he is standing behind her? Just asking.
Great, now the g.o.p. will start calling the President of Pakistan, "sexist".
OH, now that is JUST the respect we need in the world. THE USA could potentially have the PRETTIEST VP......makes me feel secure !!!
FREE SARAH PALIN
Style over substance! Lovely, world leaders lose blood in their brains from the distraction of this hot babe... It's all about the distraction!
This is soooo sexist, soooo disgusting....soooo sad!!
Oh good. Now that means she is qualified to be Vice.
Typical man, thinking with his other head instead of the one that has a so-called brain in it. Looks will only get you so far in life. You have to have a brain, which Palin truly don't have.
Now are they going to call the Pakastanis' sexist... and run AD against them. And she has the nerve to smile and say thank you.
I guess they will find a way to blame Obama for Pakastanis' behavior.
Are you kidding me? When does the swimsuit round start? If she's not going to answer any questions or talk to the press then she is nothing more than a beauty queen.
Pres. Zardari,
The reason why she looks so good is because this woman doesn't do anything else than sit around her governor's office and let her husband make the decisions for her. When she is bored she will look out the window and see Russia. Her children are home with who knows taking care of them. We just hope they are well and doing good in school. As a mother of three I'm still waiting for her to answer that question. I don't find much time for anything these days when my life is all about my family.
