Sen. Obama returned to Washington Thursday to discuss the bailout plan.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Sen. Barack Obama said lawmakers will eventually agree on a bailout plan but said that there needs to be a "sense of urgency for everybody."

Watch: Sen. Obama says there needs to be a sense of urgency

Obama told CNN after a White House meeting that some progress was made Thursday but he was concerned that the attendance of the two presidential hopefuls in the negotiations could cause problems.

Watch: Congress reaches bailout deal?

"I've been concerned for some time that when you start interjecting presidential politics into delicate negotiations, you could actually create more problems than less," Obama said. "It is amazing what you can get done when the cameras are not on and people are not looking to get credit or allocate blame."

"Call if you need me" ... he sounds reeeeeeally concerned about urgency.

So there's a sense of urgency, but not so much that he won't suspend his campaign or postpone the debate. What a self-centered loser.

Problem is for Obama is that he and all the democrats need accept blame for this mess.

No one is entitled to own a home and no one is entitled to make money of mortgages.

Stay above the fray Obama...we need that leadership! You've been briefed...now fly to Ole Miss and figure out a way to tie everything going on with us into a Global position so you can re-energize us into confirming what we already know...YOU ARE THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES RIGHTLY AND DESERVEDLY SO!

That's quite funny coming from the duo that's been allocating blame for the last 2 weeks and using it to drive up his poll numbers.

"Call if you need me" – such leadership!

    So – everything was decided.

McCain arrives and everything goes to hell in a hand-basket.

Definitely the one to run this country further into the ground.

  10. Obama's a smart man....

Obama has good common sense and judgment.

    McCain....not so much.

Why exactly does McCain think that including him and his entourage would get anything done anyways?

He himself admits he "doesn't know that much about the economy".

Oh that's right....John McCain is all about "campaign first".

Thats exactly what McCain wanted, to have the camera's on him, for his photos, did anyone else see McCain's wide smile when the camera's were on?

OK Obama, then turn off the cameras and lend a hand. Reschedule the FOREIGN POLICY debate, and lend a hand with the cameras off. I think McCain got the picture, now it's time for you to do the same and do more than speak eloquently.

This is to big to wrap my brain around. What is the problem with McCain? Can some body stop him? He is about to detroy this Country, because of his self centered games. I have lost total respect for this man. He has gone from a War Hero to a Weasel.....
If anybody still has the bold nerve to still vote from him, I do not respect them either. Regardless if your are Dem or Repub, we all have to survive in this Country, so if you decide to vote for McCain, I question your loyalty to your Country

The debates HAVE to go on as scheduled. More than half the country will soon be having early voting and absentee voting. The voters MUST hear the candidates debate, and they must NOT put it off! I know, McCain wants to look like a hero, like he came in and did all the work, not leaving until it's done, and saving the world. Don't buy it, people!! He's just stalling. If he debates, he knows his lies against Obama will be revealed and he'll be confronted with his own record.

    Obama,
You have got to be kidding me! The truth is you have NO answers. You haven't spent enough time actually doing your job to know how it is done. Of course you would not want to go there and actually do something worthwhile. ALL you know how to do is blow smoke out of your mouth with your slick words. Why don't you DO something and PUT your country first for once. That is what John McCain does ALWAYS. Country is first with him always.

  21. McCain Invented the BlackBerry, Palin Invented the Manure Spreader

The difference in temperment between these two men is striking.

George Will was right on the money: McCain doesn't have the temperment to be President.

So was the Wall Street Journal when they called McCain's economic statements "unpresidential."

Even McGimmick's own chief economic advisor feels he is unfit to run a corporation.

Why are we even considering letting him run America?

I am very impressed by Obama's approach. He is very sensible and knows how to give proper attention to issues.

A Maverick approach might help in war but when it comes to economy and running a country Good Judgement is very ciritical.

Obama and his proposal for change – will be able to help America recover its glory. We need to reclaim our American dream.

This man is so smart, credible and level headed. Why is there even a margin in the polls?

Hang in there, 'Bama–we got your back! And you got my vote!
