Palin: Russia's my next door neighbor

Gov. Palin visited with firefighters near the World Trade Center in New York City Thursday.

(CNN) - Sarah Palin defended the claim that Alaska’s proximity with Russia helps bolster her foreign policy resume in an interview released Thursday.

The Republican VP nominee, asked by CBS’s Katie Couric what she meant by that statement said: “That Alaska has a very narrow maritime border between a foreign country, Russia, and on our other side, the land - boundary that we have with - Canada.

“…our next door neighbors are foreign countries. They're in the state that I am the executive of,” said Palin.

The Alaska governor, asked if she had ever engaged in negotiations with Russia, said the country had swapped trade missions with her state. “It's very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia as Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border,” she said.

“It is from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there. They are right next to our state."

Palin has spent the week meeting with foreign leaders in New York, as she seeks to boost her national security and foreign policy credentials.

This could be funny if it were not so pathetic. Palin needs to see a doctor before things get worse. I mean it!!!

All I can say is "wow". Scary to imagine Palin "one heartbeat away from the presidency". I was undecided until the events of the last couple days, go Obama/Biden

OMG, she's dumber than I originally thought. Memo to Joe Biden, say as little as possible in the debate. Just let Sarah Palin talk her way back to Wasilla.

    Three questions for Mrs. Palin:
    (1) Have you been to Russia?
    (2) What did those delegations discuss in detail?
    (3) Could you please explain how Sakhalin 2 is important for energy issues?

WE NOW KNOW WHY MCCAIN IS KEEPING HER AWAY FROM THE PRESS, IT'S THAT OLD SAYING. " IT'S BETTER TO REMAIN SILIENT AND APPEAR STUPID, THAN TO OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND REMOVE ALL DOUBT" ( boy has she removed all doubt) AND AMERICANS WANT THIS WOMEN A HEARTBEAT FROM THE PRESIDENCY. SOMEBODY SHOULD PULL OUT THAT OLD SCHOOL DAZE MOVIE, QUE UP THE SEEN WITH FISHBURNE SCREAMING "WAKE UP' "WAKE UP" "WAKE UP". OBAMA SHOULD WIN IN A REAGAN LIKE LANDSLIDE, IF PEOPLE ARE HONEST WITH THEMSELVES.

WE ARE NOT THIS STUPID AMERICA,

I am simply in shock...shock. I truly do not know how any American could think this woman is qualified to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency. She is literally crazy. To be honest with you...I feel a little bad for her, because though I do not agree with anything she believes in...I thought she was an interesting person...at this point I just do not care...if the republicans win with this current ticket...this country is definitely in trouble.

She can't possibly be as stupid as she sounds. I can see a bank from my house. I even go into banks every so often and do business. Does that mean I am Qualified to be the Secretary of the Treasury. No, it does not. Nor does being the head of the Alaskan government mean you have the experience to deal with possibly hostile governments.

Man, you ignorant libs must be REALLY SKEEEERD to death of this woman. You turkeys have not a clue about what it is like to live next door to Russia. For my part, I'm glad I don't live near them. Obama sat up there today when he was interviewed and told one lie after another pretending he came up with all the proposals that OTHERS HAD ALREADY BEEN TALKING ABOUT FOR DAYS. He had absolutely NOTHING to add to what had already been discussed. He is so stupid and he certainly is counting on you being stupid! "There needs to be a sense of urgency." Oh, brother, when did this RIP wake up? Washington has been on its head for weeks and he thinks people need a feeling of "urgency?" Ah, but this nut has to debate tomorrow night or BUST! Give me GOVERNOR SARAH PALIN ANY DAY INSTEAD OF THIS CREEP!
    -------------------------------
Jane, it's so obvious that you're still smarting and hurting over Hillary losing that it's not even funny. Give it a rest lady, you can hate on Obama all you want but the truth is, he spoke up in the meetings and asked questions, McStain talked for 2 minutes about very little in the meeting and even his own Republican collegues stated he did more harm than good by showing up there so keep trying with the haterade, you just make Obama look better and better and Hillary worse by your emotional anger

McCain was not choosing with his mind when he chose this person as a running mate. If he was, he has demonstrated he is terrible, TERRIBLE, at making decisions.
