Once again McLair/Paliar are saying one thing and do another. We don't need another 4 years of the Bush Admin. It seems the American people are finally waking up to the constent lies of the campagin. Does Paliar actually thing she has foregin Policy knowledge because her state has a military base the watches the borders with Russia and the fact she can see Russia from her house. What a joke.

And now McLair goes to Washington and he is going to be the reason the bailout plan works. McCain just admitt it you campagin is failing. Live up to the words you stated the other day. If by supending the campaign to work on the bailout causes your presidental bid to fail then so be it, you made the right choice for the American people. Please just withdraw from the race, this will benefit the American people well. We don't need a President who can't multi task. I would be really nervous what would happen if there were multiple situations going on in the country and the world at the same time. You'd probally pick straws to see which one handle.
Obama/Biden08

I'm John McCain and I approve...wait I don't...or do I approve...never mind I'm not sure too many things happening at once.

When is a suspension not a suspension?

When it's a cheap transparent moron political stunt by a senile and unstable old warhorse.

Neither Obama nor McCain are on the finance committee, they've got NOTHING to do with putting the bill together.

McCain showed up at the WHite House yesterday to talk about the economic bail out with his campaign manager. Senator Obama showed up to the White House with his senate staffer in charge of economic issues. Which candidate came more prepared? Which candidate is actually working and not posturing (while still in NYC). Our country needs sound, prepared leadership- not stunts.

All I need to do to find the opposing comments is to search for the word "liberal" that "conservatives" now use as an insult. Most "conservatives" have had the good sense to keep quiet the last couple of days in the midst of this absolute train wreck that your candidate has turned his campaign into. Its plain to see he isn't doing anything to help, and his posturing has put the regular democratic process as well as the entire economy in jeopardy.

But go ahead, get angry. Throw baseless insults around. Pound your fists on the table. It is, after all, what you are best at. Its just not going to work anymore. People have had enough of you.

Meanwhile, we "liberals" will carry you, kicking and screaming, back into better foreign relations, a balanced budget, a better energy policy, and a strong economy. Just like we always have.

Yes, we can.

The morning after McCain said that he's suspended his campaign, I saw a McCain approved campaign ad. So I'm confused about what exactly "suspending the campaign" even means.

Seems like its all lip-service - a political stunt to make people believe he's doing something that he really isn't.

When you are John "THE LIAR" McCain. John McCain claimed he HAD to rush back to Washington to help negotiate the Bail Out Plan, but when he got here, he did what he ALWAYS does.... and that is DO NOTHING. This whole suspension claim from John McCain was nothing but a POLITICAL BOGUS GIMMICK in the hopes that the American VOTERS are "STUCK ON STUPID" and would NOT realized they were being suckered yet again by John McCain!!! I mean, this is a candidate that has been CAUGHT in his repeated lies!!! I mean, he CAN'T blame anyone else for his own STUPIDITY when it comes to his constant "DO NOTHING" record. He arrived in DC and walked around like this "CLUELESS CLOWN", but NEVER rallied his Republican Party NOR did he SPEAK UP on where he stood in regards to the Bail Out Plan. JOHN McCAIN DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, this is what he's done for the past 29+ years!!!

The Republicans are nothing but "SHOW BOATING, HOT AIR TALKING JERKS". They NEVER address the crisis and step up to solve the problems. They just continue to cause distractions and diversions so they DON'T HAVE TO MAN UP TO THE CRISIS!!!

Unfortunately, politics can't be suspended. We will have an election on Nov 4th no matter what. If D-Day during WWII did not stop our election process, then this issue should not either.

What exactly does McCain has to offer? Or Obama for that fact. Obama has stated his position. McCain has not. He's put himself in a box - if he goes along with the plan that uses taxpayers money, he runs the risk of upsetting his conservative base by not backing the House republicans. If he goes along with the plan, then he looks like he's siding with President Bush and goes against everything he believes with de-regulation.

My main point is what can he offer at this point? The senate Republicans have 40 votes for a plan. Is he one of them? How much influence does he have over House republicans? His presence is not helping anything. Remember, the economy is not his strong point, how can he broker a deal on a subject he knows nothing about?

This is all political ppsturing by mccain…He will show up at the last mintue and tout how he saved america from financial ruin…which would have been done yesterday ahd he not intervened. he will also calimthat he did not ahve time to prepare because he suspended his campaign, that is lie…..he is still on tv campaigning, palin is campaighning, and ads are still running here in PA…so there is no suspension ..again a politcal trick.
If the repubs continue to block this plan…look for more banks to go under next week, and then we will all know who to blame.
Want to turn the ecomony around, and please the people of the country,. take that 700B and divide it to all the tax payers, send it to us, withhold taxes so that some of the money comes right back to the government. The the American people woudl ahve money to pay the mortgages, pay off bills, and make the economy liquid again. Give the bailout in it's entirity tot he people…now if that was proposed by someone and the facts as I think are correct, that would be the best answer and show that the government gets it.

The only thing McCain has suspended is his sanity, which refuses to return. I still receive his emails and still see ads, and ruff tuff hockey puck mom, Sarah, is still making appearances, so what is suspended other than McCain's understanding of the issues and his honor?

It's a suspension when it comes to the debates and poll numbers. It is not a suspension when it comes to the furndrasing, photo opts and grandstanding!!! Simple as that!! There is no excuse for Mccain not to debate. I hope he don't show up and the town hall meeting begain. This will piss the GOP off because a town hall meeting is what they wanted with Obama anyway but Obama said the GOP don't control what , where and when he does something!!!

I'm suprised how Obama has kept his "cool" in all this!

All those negative attacks McShame and Palin made towards Obama/Biden.

We need a intelligent person in White House and someone that does not act on first instinct, but rather make intelligent and calculated decisions.

I can't imagine a candidate for the presidency more scary that John McCain........ except, perhaps, his running mate. In hearing her answer a few press questions, it is obvious why the McCain campaign has tried to keep her from talking directly to the press.

.....and we thought George W. Bush was bad..........

The People don't want this bailout as advertised.
Dubya is screaming, hair ablaze, for it.
Democrats are actually WORKING on a solution.
Republicans are just quitting and moping as usual when they don't have absolute control.
And what exactly is McRaniac DOING to improve above conditions???
Anyone????

I have been a long time democrat... I can not believe the crap that people post on the blogs...

In this instance McCain is doing the right thing... Like I really care to hear how he and Obama disagree especially when it over typical party lines...

I would rather both of them cancel the debate and do their job as active sitting US Senators.

McCain is trying to make it seem as though he is trying to put the economy before what he has been fighting for, and I think it is a ploy, considering that American's are leaning towards Obama's economic plans. Also, most American's feel as though Obama will be the clear winner in Friday's debate, and I think that McCain is afraid of losing, and afraid that people will see that he continues to repeat himself, and the only thing that he can say is that he was a POW, and he supports Iraq, Obama would be able to tear him apart, and I think that he knows he is not ready to step out and speak for himself, and not hide behind someone elses speaches.

It seems to me that McCain was a no show for a debate with George W. Bush back in the 2000 election. After yesterday, does anybody know McCain's new position. Making split second decisions without planning seems to be his style. Hate to think of a President acting in this manner.

Now that McCain's campaign is "suspended" his lying VP should go back to Alaska and get this troopergate investigation out of the way why their campaign is still paying for the legal advice. On November 5th they will drop her like a hot rock and she will be raising the debt to pay the legal bill.

With out a computer a solution to the financial crisis is:

When employed for the lawful gain of trade currencies one gains the right to general union protections.
A real union is created by a governments action, it just offers and can demand safety, but a union would be created as an autonomous unit of the government which gain specialized pathways and patent-like safety processing channels for worker representation.

A union then generates the paycheck of affiliation providing the worker with salary. A union does not ever hold securities for more than a business day so activates immediate transfers.

A bank is really only storage and no ideas of using clients monies for investments should be allowed. Banks should be now keeping, hand, typed, computed, and digital copy back-ups to the usual system. A bank is only a service of transfer outside the Union facilitations, and so can also provide the sale of the home nations currency in exchange for those paychecks.

Currency should be stamped or otherwise marked for a single use note. Change should be metalic or gem and so thought of as equal value, but the holder also holds the price of the manufacturing costs and all applicable taxes in creation and its first sale.

Taxation can only happen when a service is offered by the government and becomes a utility or service once activated by the individual. Representation of taxation comes as a capitalist's market; item by item, grade by grade, even personal service quality insured or fired/denied employee status by the union of trade, or by the general union of unique jobs(so denying to the individual a unique job lot).

Paper money is used to thwart the ideals of peace and tranquility, but insures privacy to those paranoid, taxation of privacy should be expected.

A nation provides the securities for those settled, but one of those securities is privacy of property and honestly the government can only provide the routes to privacy and must rely only on levels exile for punishment or to insure that protection...

I agree with Parker that watching Palin is a cringefest of the highest order.

However, the bulk of what she says causes me great consternation, particularly in these areas:

1) Yes, Joe Biden occasionally suffers from foot-in-mouth disease. However, given the breadth of his knowledge and the amount of campaigning he's doing, occasional gaffes are expected. Palin's unscripted appearances are few and far between and she is incapable of speaking to his level of expertise on any subject, except possibly Alaska's proximity to Russia.

2) This comment of Parker's, "bow out for personal reasons, perhaps because she wants to spend more time with her newborn. No one would criticize a mother who puts her family first." reeks of sexism and serve only to harm women's pursuit of higher office. Those of us who criticized Palin for putting her career ahead of her family, in particular her special needs child and 17-year-old daughter especially in need of privacy, were severely taken to task by conservative and Republican supporters. And yet that now becomes an acceptable reason for her to withdraw? Once again, the hypocrisy of the Republicans stuns me, even though I know that I should expect no less.

CNN - would love to see an interview with a few major PUMAs. A few questions:

- What would Hillary have done in this situation - suspend? Debate? Dither?

- What do you think about the suspension that isn't a suspension?

- What do you think about Sarah Palin now that she has actually spoken to reporters a few times?

- Who are you voting for now?

You know I have followed this election very closely. And I have analyze it over and over again to myself.
There is now way in hell this election should be this close.
All the strikes are against McCain. I would not even call his campaign a campaign. It is more like a circus freak show.
This is a no brainer of choice.

My Conclusion: The race appears to be close becuase Obama is black. There is no other explanation. If you are thinking otherwise you need to get your head out of the sand.

Just for once, JUST THIS ONCE I am hoping America will do to right things and elected the right person this time after 8 years of fears by the GOP.

McCain and his running mate is not fit to lead. If they win this thing it will be George Bush times 4. If you think the last 8 years was bad, think again with McCain and Palin in charge.

Can you say WW111 with the heavily armed nuke central 2 (Russia)!!

It amazes me that this man can't do more than one thing at a time. Obama was on the hill yesterday, but he didn't need to suspend his campaign while he was there. He was able to do both, what is McCain's problem?

The only thing he suspended was his rational thought process.
This ploy is transparent to anyone and everyone that isn't ruled
by blind faith to the Republican party. His ploy won't work.
He won't get credit for bringing the Republican House in line.
The only reason they backed off the agreement yesterday
was because he ask them to stall it. That is obvious.
So he can't take credit for convincing them to resolve the issue.
There is no reason for him to be in Washington today.
There is no reason he cannot debate tonight.

O'baba thinks the campaign is his career. Go to work you slack off!

Whats he going to do when he has to go back to work in the Senate? Does he need a map to get there?

Thank goodness for McCains leadership that will provide as a non-partisan in these talks.

A true leader in every sense. McCain for President!

Now wait a minute!

You mean to tell me that McCain has time to take his hands "off-deck" from the financial crisis and do press releases and all of this other hulabaloo, but when it comes to the debate he says that the crisis needs "all hands on deck" and thus he cant make it to the debat??!

What?! He must think that we as voters are ignorant. Precisely why this man should not be elected....and why he WONT be elected

It's okay McCain, just take a deep breath and come from behind that skirt and just start talking.... you've done it before, remember when you had to tell your crippled ex wife you were leaving her for Cindy Moneybags! McCain is a creep and I am glad to find out all of this before hand. Let's make the right choice and put Barack Obama in office and get this country going in the right directiion. Vote for Obama 08 and 2012.

Here are some pearls of wisdom from our wannabe VP candidate
in an interview with Katie Couric
Palin, in a rambling and largely incoherent response, responded,QUOTE "That's why I say I, like every American I'm speaking with, were ill about this position that we have been put in. Where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy. Um, helping, oh, it's got to be about job creation, too. Shoring up our economy, and getting it back on the right track. So health care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions, and tax relief for Americans, and trade -- we have got to see trade as opportunity, not as, uh, competitive, um, scary thing, but one in five jobs created in the trade sector today. We've got to look at that as more opportunity. All of those things under the umbrella of job creation."

She makes Bush look smart. Open your eyes people

Proven leaders are people who show integrity by doing what they say they are going to do. If McCain was half the leader his ego is telling him he is, then he would have walked the walk and suspended his campaign, not just talked the talk.

Big Mac is clearly manipulating House GOP members to make political hay out of this mess on Wall Street. In picking Palin he showed he is willing to do ANYTHING to get an advantage regardless of whether it is in the best interest of the country.

Here's an idea: Since McCain thinks Palin is fit to be President, he should ask her to take the lead in negotiating a bailout deal.

This whole story about the campaign being suspended is just another in a series of John McCain’s questionable missteps that brings into question his integrity, his judgment, and his ability to lead. His integrity because, guess what…the campaign is still going on, therefore he is not telling the truth.

His judgment because who would stop their campaign, just have their VP pick up the slack. His ability to lead because he has shown that he cannot attack multiple problems, he is a one-trick pony.
