She is not stupid because she agreed with Obama on Pakistan. She is stupid because she does not have a clear understanding of McCain's position when it comes to foreign policy. That is why McCain had to retract her comments today. She basically made a mistake and it looks worse on her because she rarely gives interviews and because she is supposed to be more qualified than Obama, Biden and McCain according to her supporters!

After watching her with Katie Couric, I don't think all the "debate camp" in the world can keep her from looking like a total idiot. It's sad that she is the perfect neocon - all style and no substance.

Why do people compare Obama to Palin, when the comparison should lie in the pairings of: McCain vs. Obama, Biden vs. Palin. All things considered if this were a point system, then most would agree:

Obama vs. McCain= Tie
Obama vs. Palin= Obama
Biden vs. Palin= Biden
McCain vs. Biden= Tie

Two heads are better than one.

THE CLEAR ANSWER FOR THE MOST BIASED OBSERVER

Obama/Biden wins, because they consist of a check and a balance atop the executive branch.

Where the McCain campaign has none.

What an insult to the hardworking and intelligent women the McCain/Palin campaign wanted to attract when she was chosen for the ticket. Five schools and six years or was it six schools and five years for a 4-year degree?
For once, can we have a president (and VP) who is actually smart and can make decisions without being overly muzzled by his handlers?

From the next debate:

Moderator: "So, how should we approach the economy, Governor Palin?"

Palin: "Um, well, ya know it's a tough thing this economy thing. A lotta people I knooow arrrre affected by it - or so I'm told. But ya knowwww John McCaaain has said that Fanny and Freddy need to be regulated nowwww. So, I think thaaaat's whaat we should do."

Moderator: "What's your view on book banning? Do you think you should have the power to pull books out of a library?"

Palin: "Ummmm, well, ya know, I think thaaaat as a vice-president, that's one of the things I should get to do. I mean, there arrrrrrrrre some pretty lousy books therrrrre! I mean, if I don't like to read it, then it must be baaaad, right? Hahahahahahahaaa!"

I'm no Palin fan, but I agree with her and Obama. If we know where they are and if Pakistan does not or will not act then yes we should go get them. If they are our allies then they should understand and should want us to destroy the terrorist.

What's really bad is that McCain does not want her to have her own mind. This has happened before. Even if they are on the same ticket she does have her own views. They don't have to agree 100% on everything. MAYBE THAT'S WHAT HE WANTS SOMEONE WITH SO OPINION THAT WILL JUST DO WHAT HE SAYS. I'VE HEARD HE WAS SEXIST. SEEMS MORE AND MORE THAT HE IS.

Palin is follower and now a leader. She was just pandering to the questioner. Agreeing with him, hoping to make nice. This is what she does.

Now today McCain is out trying his best to spin what she said into something she didn't say

Why are Republicans so reluctant to call them themselves that, but instead want to be referred to as GOP - are we dumb?

This is where experience would be to her advantage.... if she had been plugged into these topics close-up for the past several years she'd be familiar with the details.

Then again, look at Obama. ... he was in the Senate for only 143 days -- notice that... DAYS!.... before he started campaigning for the presidency! I got that info from our newspaper this morning!

Where are the qualified people to fill these positions?????

The problem with Palin is that all her talking points have been falsified. Her resume is gone. She has 20 months as a governor, and that’s about it. She has accomplished nothing special nor taken any great risks. Yet, I can see her winning on Thursday. She won’t debate. She will give a speech and avoid all the questions she can. If she can perfect the question dodge, she can win. She has proven herself as a pit bull (and full of bull) so if she can spit venom instead of debate she can at least get some talking points in and land an uppercut or two. The debate will be ridiculous, substance free, and the spin will be disgusting afterwards.
Personally, I see another McCain distraction to delay the debate and a new VP—Palin will step down.

Until further notice, the McCain Campaign has barred all graduate students, college graduates, political science majors, anyone with aspirations of pre-law or government, librarians, legal secretaries or any high school student with an above average ACT or SAT score from communicating with, approaching or standing within 2000 feet of Gov. Sarah Palin because they don't need another intelligent question asked! I finally realized who she sounds like, Miss South Carolina USA! A better debate would be Palin versus Miss South Carolina USA to see who is more incoherent!

For those that are confused... The Obama-Biden supporters say Palin is stupid for her last gaffe because she is supposed to agree with her running mate McCain. That's politics 101. The bottom line is that McCain is wrong, as Palin has pointed out.

Hopefully that clears up any "confusion". But then again, these are the people that voted for Bush "twice"!

If I needed any other reason NOT to vote for McCain, it would be his selection of a running mate. McCain shows that he is dismissing the American People (just like he did Senator Obama during the debate) by picking someone so unqualified to lead. He could care less what is good for America.

I'm sure she'll do just fine at the "debate". Most questions are already made available, and she'll come with scripted answers, no matter how different the questions will be....she'll take a rip at Obama, and democrats with some one-liners (like lipstick and pitbull types) and that's more than enuf for the far right to be enthused, and gleefully accept her as a VP.
Even though Obama isn't too experienced, all the right wing kool-aid drinkers comparing him to Sarah are ...well..just kool-aid drinkers. That's just no comparison at all.
I like McCain, but Sarah Palin is a joke, sry to say.
But then again, to be elected in this country, all you have to do is - be white, say you love Jesus, and you hate abortion. Done deal!!!

After she spoke in public and further imploded the McLame campaign, he wants to make sure she's locked up until the debate. I'm thinking there's still a 92% chance he finds an angle to try to get her out of the debate.

Thanks, but no thanks, for Bush 44 and Caribou Barbie.

So the Republican bloggers, unlike McCain, do admit that Palin agreed with Obama on taking out Bin Laden if the Pakistanis would not.

How can the US improve its image around the world?

Show respect to others.

When you shake someone’s hand, you should be able to look at them in the eye.

But no, at the beginning of the debate when Obama approached McCain and shook his hand, McCain could not look at Obama……in fact, McCain almost grimaced when he shook Obama’s hand!
Whatever happened to respect?

McCain was rude, condescending, and during the debate, exuded an air of superiority, looking down at his opponent.

How can anyone hoping to raise the image of America around the world show such a superior attitude? Regardless of which country you come from, God did create all men and women equal.

Yes, America is the most powerful nation in the world…….

But, no matter how powerful a country is, it is not power (and the almighty Bush/McCain superior attitude) that engenders good relations…..

But whether you show some respect to others!

So, another week that America loses to learn something, anything about the person the Republican Party expects you to vote for.

If Palin doesn't perform very well after a full week's preparation, she may be the dimmest person in America.

Cramming for a debate at John's side? Hmmm, one too many interviews gone wrong? Making sure that no response is made that opposes what the big man himself stated during his debate? So we basically will see SP restate verbatium what McCain said last week - where's the fun in that.

To all the sexist Obama supporters and the media - Sarah Palin has more on the ball than the Democratic Presidential nominee. More experience than he does and at least she has a record to run on and an 80% approval rating. Listen to what she says instead of making fun and you might learn something.

I hope the moderatos of the VP debate check Palin to be sure she doesn't have an earpiece. I could see McCain/Palin campaign cheating and having someone feeding her the responses during the debate.

Obama has been pampered and protected by his party and the media for TWO years.

Just recently has he started to speak outside the safety of scripted and prepared vague and general speeches. Hillary won EVERY debate- but still he stole the nomination with the help of the superdelegates.

Sarah has had no preparation and no help from the media to build up her confidence and skills.

But she is smart and a fast study. She won't need 2 years to catch up to Obama.

McCain is looking more and more confused while Palin looks like a deer caught in the headlights. This ticket has become a total mess.

confused: Obama supporters aren't saying she is ignorant and moronic because of that statement, they are saying her general statements are. McCain is the one who retracted her statement because it contradicts HIS position. Obama supporters are saying that McCain/Palin can't get their act together, and her spontanious answers off the cuff seem more like Obama, and not like the reublican stance. She seems to be reaching across the aisle more than McCain.
