Obama ad targets Fiorina

A new Obama ad targets Carly Fiorina.

(CNN) - Barack Obama is targeting a John McCain advisor's former compensation as a Fortune 500 CEO in a new television ad running nationally.

The 30-second spot goes after executive pay and is specifically critical of Carly Fiorina, the current McCain advisor who was ousted as the head of Hewlett-Packard in 2005. The company doled out $21 million in severance to her, and reportedly another $21 million worth of stock and pension.

"John McCain's advisor, Carly Fiorina. The fired CEO who left with $42 million," the ad's narrator says. "Barack Obama says it's got to change."

The ad, called "Parachute," also attacks Washington Mutual CEO Alan Fishman, who reportedly could get $19 million worth of compensation, even though the bank failed last week.

"You've got corporate executives who are giving themselves million dollar golden parachutes and leaving workers high and dry," Obama says in the ad. "That's wrong. It's an outrage."

Fiorina had been a prominent surrogate for McCain, but she was promptly removed from the cable news circuit earlier this month after she said neither John McCain no Sarah Palin was qualified to run a major corporation.

  1. Clinton Democrat for Obama

Carly Fiorina is about as qualified as Sarah Palin to run anything...

and since Fiorina says Palin isn't qualified, that pretty much sums up herself

This is the most money given to one person (Treasury Secretary) in our country's history. We have got to wake up Americans. We are being scammed.

Do we really want a VP that has no knowledge on how to run a country in office? Hopefully the American people want the change that Obama can bring to all of us. He will rise to the challenge and prove that Democrats are and have always been hard working citizens that actually care for others. He will shine and all of us will reap the benefits!

This is SO not your DADDY'S Democratic party! I LOVE it!! I know some people disagree, but John Kerry and Gore tried to take the high road to these crooks and look where it got us.

Hit 'em and hit 'em HARD on their extreme hypocrisy. Unfortunately, for the sake of the WORLD, we need to roll in the mud with these CREEPS!!

So refresh me again, how does anything about HP translate as relevant to the credit crunch? Oh, that's right, if Barak Obama says there's a connection, there must be one, just the same way tax breaks for 81% translates to 95% in Barak-ese.
    Please give me a break.

  11. Trickle Down Doesn't Work

The decline of America started with Trickle Down Economics ... also called Voodoo Economics by Bush 41.

Reagan cut taxes dispproportionately beneficially for wealthy folks.

Having free money with no additional work on their part, they spent the extra money on Rolexes, Rolls Royces, etc.

This begain an era of McMansions and conspicusous consumption which led to an elevation in the superficial, celebrity crazed, "instant gratifications" society we have today.

  13. McCain said she's ready to be President

McCain is a womanizer, been one for YEARS.

Womanizer McCain knows what Men want and they want eye candy they can have fantasies about.

McCain needed to rally his GOP base.... mostly MEN. He needed to give them RED MEAT so he hunted for a woman, a good looking woman that he can feed to his base.. .. and he found SARAH.

McCain is a political P.IMP BIG TIME and he’s playing Sarah as his Trick.

Sarah stepped out of line 3 days ago so he showcased Rudy as a warning to his Trick.

"You know it's HARD out here for a P.imp!" right Womanizer McCain?

McCain, a man who loves to hang with big rollers and live the big life.

  16. Wake Up America

The Republicans are great at winning elections (because they're ruthless), but surprise, surprise, they're not good at governing. Even John McCain said they spent too much money.

When will America wake up and see that the Republicans have been labeling the Dems as the tax and spenders, but we had a surplus with Democrats and not the GOP.

Wake up America, it's not too late.

YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST PEOPLE!

PALIN WILL NOT DEBATE BIDEN ON THURSDAY EVENING. THERE IS NO WAY THE MCCAIN CAMPAIGN WILL LET HER LOOSE FOR A FULL 90 MINUTES ON LIVE TV.

EXPECT SOME BOGUS REASON EITHER TOMORROW OR WEDNESDAY AS TO WHY SHE WON'T BE ABLE TO DO IT.

PAY ATTENTION PEOPLE. THE MARKET IS DOWN OVER 600 POINTS TODAY, SO IF YOU DON'T WANT MORE OF THE SAME, VOTE DEMOCRACT!

Fiorina is typical of the people that McCain wants to protect. He does not care one hoot about middle America and doesn't even pretend to. If you'll notice, all of his rhetoric is AGAINST what Obama wants/does, etc. NOT about what he plans to do for us. Also, I hope that Biden lets everyone know about the millions of dollars that Palin got in earmarks since it was not appropriate for Obama to respond and highlight them during the Presidential debate.

It is interesting that the Republican President is pushing for a bailout of Wall Street.......

And rumors have it that McCain will vote against the bail-out legislation?

If McCain suspended his campaign to help push Bush's bailout plan along, why would he now not vote for it?

McCain PROVED for all to see that he DOES NOT PUT COUNTRY FIRST. He said that he would not participate in the DEBATE until there was a BILL for the resque plan. LIE as soon as he saw that his BLUFF was CALLED he BLINKED and ran to the DEBATE.

If he really MEANT WHAT HE SAID AND REALLY WANTED TO PUT COUNTRY FIRST he would not have gone tohte DEBATE he could have made more ploitical gain that way.

But now everyone can see it was just a ploitical STUNT. and McCain will do anythng to get a VOTE.

What's Carly going to do in response to this ad? Scream "Sexism"? That's all she's been good for in the McCain campaign. She was a drain on HP and now does nothing useful for the McCain campaign. She's useless (but rich!) Pathetic.

Why hasn't CNN picked up on the Obama "Truth Squads" intimidating dissenters in MO, PA, and other places? Surely, if a governor feels compelled to respond to the Obama campaign, the "World Leader in News" would run something on it, right?
