Oh no! The media keeps pointing out how stupid my running mate is! How shameful of the press to dare point out that I chose an idiot!

Hey, is it "gotcha politics" when people report that you say "we shouldn't blame anyone over the bailout failing" and then you go and blame Obama and Democrats?

Shut up, already. When you can't even make it through a single speech with completely contradicting yourself, it's not gotcha politics. People are just tired of you and Moose Skinning Barbie being idiots, and having to pretend like you actually have the brains to lead a country.

Maybe instead of your spending freeze, you should issue a lying freeze, where you stop telling lies and have a real campaign.

Liar is a four-letter word. If that's too "conservative", try the more "liberal" nine-letter choice: Hypocrite. Or just go with the compromise eight-letter "Clueless". In any case, I wouldn't believe a word he says, just like his clueless pal, "W".

From the bottom up,
didn't McCain go on David Letterman a week or two after 9/11 and say we were going to attack Iraq? So, isn't that an example of where we said publicly that we were going to attack a country?
And as an aside, Obama didn't say we were going to attack Pakistan. He said we'd attack militants and HVT's inside Pakistan if Pakistan didn't go after them. That's a BIG difference.

As for the broader issue of Gotcha journalism, it seems that Palin is a quick study. It was just a couple of weeks ago in a town hall that she said "IF you want to go with gotcha journalism, go ahead and stump the candidate." That seems to me like if there is no cogent answer, use that as the fall back line.
And perhaps in Wasilla, or Alaska, or even in other parts of our country, that works. But when Chavez's negotiators, or Putin's KGB, or Iran's Revolutionary Guard or whomever the opposition is comes to the table, we can't be in a position of our VP saying "go ahead and stump me. I'll get some information and bring it back to ya."
That isn't going to work.

If this is happening during McCain’s campaign trail imagine if this duo gets into office? 4 more years of this will be too much to stomach!!!

At least we are seeing a lot of this due to the coverage. Imagine in the White House behind closed doors?

All I can say now is that this is getting beyong the typical political drama. Now it's getting really frightening that anyone - Republican, Democrat or Independent - can support the McCain-Palin ticket. I am all for people believing in whom and what they choose; however, the thought of John McCain and Sarah Palin holding the two highest offices in our country does not put Country First. We see how the world is reacting to our economic crisis. I can only imagine how they will react if we elect John McCain. Does anyone recall the reaction when we re-elected George Bush. Multiply that by 100. Simply put, John McCain does not have the judgement to govern or to lead.

John McCain, even though you're too old to lead our country, I believe that what you just said sounds just as a whining teenager.

"She did not say that! She said this!"

How stupid do you think we are? Do you believe we are all deaf and are going to believe that Palin did not act like a cowgirl with attitude against other countries? WHILE OUR OWN COUNTRY FALLS DOWN IN RUINS!

NO, JOHN MCCAIN!

Obama 08 - The sane choice

He was sitting by her side during the interview Monday night and spoke up before she could even answer a question. Does he not trust her to answer the question in her own words. Please, this is starting to get ridiculous. I just hope that she can get through Thursday night without John McCain coming out onto the floor and having to explain what she means when answering her questions. Let the woman speak in her own words and if it's not what he or his campaign want to hear then he should consider other options.

So two things that are basically the same are different? Ah OK, thanks for clearing that up.

What is the deal with McCain having to babysit Palin now? Is he going to change her diaper too now?

In her town hall meetings he jumps in when she gets into trouble. It was the same thing during the interview. Is he her father now? What is this? I think it is scary that even he thinks she can't be trusted on her own.

While Sarah's comment was unguarded - it was by NO means in accurate. Most civilized Americans citizens would bombard anyone attacking the USA. ( either on our soil or where ever we were being attacked) THAT'S A FACT YOU CAN TAKE TO THE BANK. Also, sometimes being "frank and plain speaking" is better than trying to hedge or be "politically correct." In other words, call a spade a spade.

They will be covering up for this woman as long as she talks. She has no sense of what she is saying, or the ability to think and talk at the same time. There are not enough coaches in the world to help this woman. The fact that they have had to explain her answers at every turn should prove to America that this woman is not ready to be elected into any other office than one in Alaska. Remember, getting elected governor of Alaska is about as hard as getting elected Mayor of a medium size city. With the population of neary 3 men to every one woman, any woman who jumps around in a American Flag bikini, is loud, tough sounding, and attractive could be elected governor. Her win had very little to do with her political astuteness.

SO it's okay if Palin answers a "voter" with the first thought that comes to mind, but if the opposition says something the same thing,...... "they just don't understand"? Whats with McCain appearing with Palin in the interview, does he not trust her judgement, he picked her. He made the bed he has to lie in it.

I just don't like the way he is treating Ms. Palin. During the CBS interview with Katie Couriche acted as though she was his daughter and when he taught she was ready to follow him, she followed him repeating the story. Very, very sad. As a woman, I think she just step down as VP.

This is just partisan trash. Biden said " Obama is not ready to lead'. Why are we not talking about that? So Palin slipped up and made a statement that she did not think would be broadcast to the world. That is different than saying it to the national media as part of a stance on foreign policy. Biden agreed with McCain that Obama is not ready to lead and he did it knowing that it was being broadcast to the world.

Btw CNN I live 30 minutes from Philly and most Pizza shops sell cheese steaks and most cheese steak shops sell pizza. I love that you point out the fact that it was a steak stand and not a pizza shop, that was a really important point to make.

The Repugs only like "sound bite politics" when it benefits them. Remember the lipstick/pit bull sound bite we've all heard about 1,000 times? Yeah. That one.

McWar is running around frantically "dismissing" and "retracting" everything Palin spews from her ignorant pie-hole-and he can't do it fast enough. So now she's being hidden-er, I mean sequestered from the media and the country under the guise of debate preparation.

Hey McCain---she is running on YOUR ticket.
What she says is important especially given your health.

It is absolutely fair that she be asked questions. She should be put on the spot. She needs to prove herself.

Sarah Palin was on the short-list to be the vice-presidential candidate for several months - she has had a month of heavy tutoring since being chosen. She has had a long time to prepare for this - and being in governement , she should already be interested in foreign policy and economics. She should be able to function as a statesperson at this point - she should make sense and have logical opinions. The fact that she can't, just leads me to believe she is really not very birght.

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old rancher, who's hand was caught in the gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to Palin and her bid.

The old rancher said, "Well, ya know, Palin is a 'Post Turtle'."

Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a 'Post Turtle' was.

The old rancher said, "When you're driving down a country road you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'Post Turtle'."

The old rancher saw the puzzled look on the doctor's face so he continued to explain. "You know she didn't get up there by herself, she don't belong up there, and she don't know what to do while she's up there, and you just wonder what kind of dummy put her up there to begin with."

Does the American people get it yet? McCain has resorted to "old" politics, and figures he can lie his way out. Once you start lying, its hard to distinguish between a lie and a truth, and you start to believe that your lies are REALLY the truth!

Poor McCain..........he lost his mind, his dignity, and respect.

So is McCain going to sit with Palin on all her interviews between now and November 4th? Hey I would too if I were him. He probably has code words or signals to get her to stop talking when she rambles incoherently with run-on sentences. Sarah Palin should go back to second grade.

cmon, this charade has gone far enough with these two. McCain doesn't have the temperament nor the skill to deal with an economic disaster like this to be President and Sarah Palin is not qualified. The longer this goes on the more clearer and obvious this becomes. Both of these candidates are dangerous and would put the U.S. in even more flux that it already is domesitically and internationally. This is just unacceptable that McCain thinks he can belittle, use sound bites, hide behind war service, and hoodwink hockey moms on his way to the White House. I have to believe the majority of American citizens are not that gullible.

this is an election not take your daughter to work day McCain. McCain is erratic and his desperation is escalating. he is having a hard enough time flailing around trying to back step his own gaffes, now he has to save Sarah? i like a lot of good Americans feel that Sarah should step down, its for the best of the country. McCain should follow suit, he can say for health reasons, no one would blame him.

So if Sarah Palin's comments to individual voters should not be taken as legitemate, how am I supposed to trust her word if she is elected into office? If I can't take a simple interpersonal exchange at its word, why would I be expected to trust anything she or her running mate say? Interesting...

Palin is nothing more than a Disgrace to Women everywhere.

Hillary didn't put 18 million cracks in the ceiling to have this idiot in the White House.

McCain is senile and Palin is an idiot.
