Palin: I'm a 'Joe-six pack American'

Gov. Palin met with fellow mothers of U.S. soldiers while campaigning in Philadelphia Sunday.

Gov. Palin met with fellow mothers of U.S. soldiers while campaigning in Philadelphia Sunday.

SEDONA, Arizona (CNN) - Sarah Palin on Tuesday called herself a “Joe-six pack American” and said that her family has lost $20,000 in the stock market because of the financial meltdown on Wall Street.

Palin made the comments in a radio interview with conservative talker Hugh Hewitt while taking a break from debate prep at John McCain’s ranch in Sedona.

“I know what Americans are going through there,” Palin said on the radio show. “And you know, even today, Todd and I are looking at what’s going on in the stock market, the relatively low number of investments that we have, looking at the hit that we’re taking, probably $20,000 dollars last week in his 401K plan that was hit.

“I’m thinking, ‘Geez, the rest of America, they’re facing the exact same thing that we are. We understand what the problems are.’”

Earlier: Palin takes a dig at Biden's age?

Hewitt asked Palin her reaction to the “extreme hostility” that she has faced from liberals.

“Oh, I think they’re just not used to someone coming in from the outside saying you know what? It’s time that a normal Joe six-pack American is finally represented in the position of vice presidency, and I think that that’s kind of taken some people off guard, and they’re out of sorts, and they’re ticked off about it,” she said.

Humble beginnings are great, but the position of President and Vice-President requires more than the average Joe. I want someone who is incredibly intelligent (as in, way-beyond average) and is capable of making sound judgments.

Sorry but Joe six-pack American doesn't have an airplane parked in his backyard and likes to enjoy his six-pack without a side of chastity. Get real, this woman is an evangelist at best. She doesn't have the intelligence to fix the SERIOUS problems we have or the good sense (or humility for that much) to realize she's running for the highest office of the most powerful country. She acts like this is a beauty contest or something.

    Whatever...

  3. Obamanation meets its match

If people are voting for the TOP of the ticket- then why is the Obamanation so concerned about Sarah Palin?

And... Biden IS almost as old as McCain BUT he has been in the senate giving speeches and doing nothing for LONGER than McCain.

So... Sarah was correct to honor is long history of speechmaking in the senate.

Sarah talks to people like the 12 year old Obamabots- they ONLY understand cute put down phrases: McInsane, Mc War, McCant, McSame etc etc. Hey jokers- Sarah is speaking TO you infants in a language you understand.

Troopergate:Murlene Wilkes, owner of Harbor Adjusting Services, and holder of a $1.2 million/yr. contract with the State of Alaska to handle workers compensation claims.
Hard evidence contradicting sworn testimony has a certain effect on people. Murlene Wilkes, faced with this situation, decided to change her testimony according to a report in The Public Record. Now, with the little extra incentive of avoiding perjury charges, she has admitted that she was asked to deny the claim – at the direct request of Sarah and Todd Palin.

Come on ABC, get to work and investigate this one. Its all over Alaska

The way her interviews are going... you would think she's had at least a 6 pack before those interviews. Maybe that's what's causing her answers to be completely incoherant.

She was for the Bridge to Nowhere before she was against it. She did not return to Washington the funds that the state of Alaska received for the bridge after CONGRESS had killed it. The road to the Bridge was built after all. She doesn't like earmarks, but her state of Alaska is perhaps one of the largest recipients of earmarks. When she was mayor of Wasilla she hired a lobbyist to help obtain earmarks. I think that Sara Palin is a phony!

    Sarah,

Have you been reading "Red State" lately? Joe Six Pack, my butt.

If you lost 20,000 in the market (how many regular Joe's lost $20,000 today?) what was your cost basis?

Anyway, you're still an affront to women. Charging Rape Victims for Rape Kits, indeed.

    No way will my daughter(s) have a rapist's baby. You're a loon!

VETS AGAINST MCCAIN! He can't even muster a vote on the New G.I. Bill. Missed 400 votes in the past year! Missed all 20 hearings on Afghanistan.

    BLUE STAR FAMILIES FOR OBAMA!

Nothing personal, Sarah, but I don't want "Joe-Six Pack" even close to running the country. I want someone intelligent...that would clearly not be you or McCain.

Garbage. They don't like you because you're pro-life, anti-choice, pro govt cronyism, pro-drilling, think global warming is a "myth" and any other number of things that make you the most dangerous person to even suggest for this office. Your selection is a joke and so are you. Go back to Alaska and stay there, Caribou Barbie.

If a 'Joe six pack' likes beer and sports AND is someone who understands and is thoughtful about national and foreign policy–then no problem. Unfortunately, Palin doesn't meet this criteria.

We had the guy Americans would most like to drink beer with for the last eight years, and look where it got us. Personally, I would like someone SMARTER than me as VP and a 72 year old, 4 time cancer survivor heartbeat away from the presidency.

Your right Sarah, Give 'em hell Thursday night. There are more people backing you then you know and this comes from a democrat that will be voting McCain/Palin.
For the first time I've paid attention to the whole election process and let me say, the Obama backers are too just down right nasty people.
Obama is probably a nice enough guy, but his supporters have turned my stomach and that goes for CNN too!

I'm ticked off because you're not very bright. It's that simple. I won't vote for you just because your a woman, like McShame wants me to do. I won't vote for you because your a Maverick, because you aren't. If you were, you would have returned the money for the bridge ... and you would have canceled the road that lead to this none existent bridge. But you didn't. You're not a Maverick. Go home!

Does she want to lose the entire 401k by continuing the same failed economic policy initiated by GWB , perpetuated by her boss? maybe she had a six pack before her first Couric interview so daddy had to come to hold her hand through the 2nd and ensure that she wasn't sipping on tha syssurp..
I can't comprehend why people still support her....after hearing her speak!! I'm flabbergasted.
