He needs to pull out of the race and let someone else step in.
I was convinced Obama would not win this no matter what the polls showed, but not so sure anymore!

LOL... Btw... Palin bought a Ohio State Buckeyes shirt while she was tagging along behind McCain in Ohio. Wonder how many sports teams she has shirts from by now? One from every state she visits I bet.

rich,

Funny you mention OH. I didn't think dems were able to talk about that. Interesting that in the primaries Obama changed the way votes are counted,(not counting all the states) now he has found a way to take the most important state for his opponent and hold votes early. They are not even checking Id in that state. They are also allowing people to register and vote on the same day. The federal govt. has a regulation that states that a voter must register a minimum of 30 days before voting. Funny how rules always bend his way.

Abandon Ship! Abandon Ship!
SOS...---...SOS...---...SOS

And forget about Maine. McCain totally snubbed Olympia Snowe (R - Maine) by choosing Palin for the Veep spot. Senator Snowe is far, far more qualified to be on the GOP ticket than Palin.

Debby Sez:

"Its funny the Gov. of Alaska's state is doing great in the economy and the Gov. of Michigan's isn't. I think Michigan has their priorities wrong when it comes to the economy and who the better leader might be."

Yea, Debby, that just might work, if they discover 100 Billion barrels of untapped crude oil in Michigan. Duh. Alaska's econmy can be described in one word: OIL.

Alaska's ecnomony is GREAT because the price of oil is $100 a barrel.

Michigan's ecnomony is BAD because the price of oil is $100 a barrel.

It has nothing to do with who is Govenor of each State.

Palin's beauty pageant answers aren't cutting it in her interviews with the press and they won't cut it in the vp debate tonight. Palin doesn't have it to be 2nd in command of this country. Not to mention McCain doesn't have it to be 1st in command of this country. She needs to stop being cute in her answers. At any rate, tonight's debate ought to be interesting as well as entertaining. Guess we'll wait and see for the SNL polls and feedback!

John McCain, running away from the working people who are in economic trouble. Who's surprised?

I'm hoping after tonight that he concedes. His judgment (Re: Gov. Palin) says it all. Country first, what a joke.

I once thought this election would be like 1960: a close contest between a young and highly intelligent Senator with fresh ideas (Kennedy) but less experience than his opponent (Nixon); the Senator trounced the VP in the debates and shattered an important barrier (religion).

I now think this election will be like 1964: a landslide mandate for change, where voters overwhelmingly turned away from an eccentric and experienced Arizona lawmaker (Goldwater) and his unknown and lighly qualified VP running mate (Miller).

First Missouri, now Michigan.

McCain knows he is headed for trouble.

To win, McCain has to take ALL the "leaning McCain" States and ALL the "tossup" States.

For Obama to Win, he only needs to take the "leaning Obama" States and maybe 1 or 2 "tossup" States.

Who do you think will win?

I mean, we're coming off the worst Presidency in history, at least since Hoover.

It's too bad the state I am in can't wake up and see for themselves like so many others. I wonder when TEXANS are going to grow a brain cell and see this trash for what it is! The only democratic place in the whole state is Travis county (Austin). Hey Texans, you need to wake up and get back the your roots of the old southern Democrats!

Already voted here in Ohio via the early voting. First time voter at age 37. I represent the kind of new voter and in addition the younger voter that is being underpolled in states like Ohio, Colorado, VA and NC.

Obama in a landslide. I think he will get more than 300 Electoral votes. McCain has too many states to hold in the last 30 days and relatively tight resources to do it with.

He's done and so are the House Republicans this November.

Sure makes McCain look indecisive. He's giving up on us in Michigan, just after he decides to put his campaign on hold to go deal with the bailout deal... BTW, what exactly did he do for that? From what I saw, not much more than Obama did and Obama didn't put his campaign on hold.

Obama gets my vote anyway - we need to try SOMETHING different. Too many of us are struggling to get and keep our jobs here.

If this election goes for Hussein Obama, it still is an if. I will sit in my cushy recession proof job and laugh at all you sheep who voted for this stiff.. When you all give your paychecks for the big government, business close down because of big democratic taxes, and even longer unemployment lines then we'll see who has the last laugh..

I think McCain realizes that it's over. He looks tired and probably regrets choosing Annie Oakley for his running mate. He totally screwed up and underestimated the intelligence of American people and specially women. He thought as long as he has woman as a running mate she can bring in the Hillary votes. Annie Oakley is no Hillary...she can never be Hillary. I am a middle aged white woman, voting for Barack Obama. Color must not be an issue in the election. We want an intelligent and capable president, who can lead us to the future, and who has the intelligence and vision to surround himself with experts and equally intelligent people. McCain is just too old to lead us in these complicated times we live in. Even though I respect his war record, it does not make a good president, it takes more than that.

I despise his campaign, and what he has let himself become in this election. Primarily because the enormous amount of respect I had for him at one time...

But I will always admire his service to our country and those of any other American in uniform.

What Caused the Great Depression?

Increasing the tax rate from 25% to 63% at the top of the scale.

The dramatic rise of income taxes in 1932 may have also prolonged the downturn. Also the sudden rise of global protectionism leading to the collapse of world trade.

These are both the ideals of the Democrat party of today who constantly spout raising tax on the rich and trade tariffs

This looks like another impulsive decision from McBush. WhY does he need 1 or 2 electoral votes from Maine. I hope he goes down with some dignity. I hope he dosen't get desperate and start attacking Obama in the only way Rove would think could change some votes. People do not want a 72 year old relic and a fortysomething barbie running the country. The polls will continue to turn in Obama/s favor because the level of ineptitude of the REpublican ticket is too great to hide.
